Thank you Dr. Judy Morgan's Naturally Healthy Pets for getting the word out and keeping us updated on the list. We all must patiently await the lab results. We encourage our customers to feed a fresh food diet either raw or home cooked. Dogsage has some good human grade options. Smack Pet Food is dehydrated raw and YBF Pure Nutrition base mix allows dog parents to add fresh protein from the grocery store. We are all in this together to help share knowledge for the health of our family members.
*There are no official recalls for these brands yet. We are awaiting additional lab results from food samples. At this time, we are only comfortable with brands using 100% Human Grade Ingredients (vs. Feed Grade).
If you believe ANY BRAND of pet food is causing or has caused illness or death:
Stop the food immediately.
The FDA is investigating the issue. Report it to the FDA: https://www.fda.gov/animal-veterinary/report-problem/how-report-pet-food-complaint
Contact your veterinarian. Request a copy of your pet's medical records. Report your concerns to the pet food company and ask your vet to do the same. Veterinarians can also email [email protected].

This list has been compiled from verified consumer reports via survey. In addition, there must be similar consumer reports on 3rd party platforms, unrelated to the survey. Reminder: the 2007 melamine recalls involved 100+ brands of pet food due to contaminated vegetable proteins.
SAVE THE PET FOOD. Do NOT agree to send the pet food company the food. If you feel compelled to do so, only send a small portion. Keep the rest of the food in original packaging, closed securely, and stored away from pets and people. Document your conversation with the pet food company.
The pet food company may offer to pay your vet bills and reimburse you for your pet food. If you agree to this they will ask you to sign a form which will prohibit you from taking legal action. If there is a class action lawsuit you will be unable to join if you do this or if you want to take your own legal action.
It is YOUR choice to feed what you feel is safe for your pets. Here is a free list of brands I trust to feed to my own pets: http://tinyurl.com/k98h4vcf
I also trust "The List" by consumer advocate, Susan Thixton. There are more options on her list and the $10 supports her full time work advocating for safe pet foods for our pets:

Thank you to all of the pet advocates working diligently to address this issue. Your hard work is appreciated.
