Nina!!

We are 3 sessions into our 6 week program and already making tremendous strides!

Nina is a very typical high energy breed (huskyxgsd) with lots to say and even more to do!

Nina and her dedicated mom have been working hard on their focus training, like eye contact, touch and auto sits. As well as impulse control like place, wait, and auto sits! So many auto sits.....

Helping her learn a more constructive and appropriate behaviour that still allows for fun, but just toned down a bit, give mom and her ears a bit of a break!

Meet Nina, a 1-year-old GSD husky mix who is just starting her training journey with us 🐺

Nina struggles with jumping, full-speed face boops, tugging on clothing when she gets excited, and the kind of puppy rudeness that used to be cute but now needs real structure.

The difference with Nina though? Her mom has already put in a huge amount of dedication before coming to us, and it shows right away!

Nina is engaged, eager to learn, and already showing the foundation that makes real progress possible! She’s a small but mighty girl with a very committed human behind her, and we are so excited to start working with them and help turn that effort into real-life results.

Hi, I’m Madison Eliza 👋 If you're new here you may not know me, so let me tell ya a little about myself 🎉🎉

I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a dog trainer. I grew up convinced I was going to work in movies.

When I was young, I trained as a Hollywood special-effects artist and fully expected my life to look like something straight out of a Quentin Tarantino movie— dramatic lighting, chaos, long hours, and a lot of creative problem-solving. Boy how times change....

And in a weird way… I got chaos & creative problem solving, just not the way i expected 😂

Somewhere along the way, I realized that the thing that actually made me feel calm, grounded, and genuinely happy wasn’t film sets.

It was dogs.

I started training when I was 21, and what began as something small quickly turned into something I knew I couldn’t walk away from.

I worked in the behaviour department at the Toronto Humane Society, trained for years at multiple PetSmart locations, and learned everything I could get my hands on. Not just basic obedience, but grooming skills, basic vet care, medical rehab, behaviour cases, working with anxious dogs, high-energy dogs, dogs that needed patience more than anything else.
The kind of experience that really shapes you.

After that came working with daycares, board-and-train programs, and learning under other trainers before eventually starting my own company, WolfWild Dog Training. That later became There N Bark Again, which honestly says a lot about me in one name: storytelling, creativity, and dogs all mixed together.

And yes, the name is absolutely inspired by The Lord of the Rings because I’ve never been very good at separating the things I love.

Dogs have been my whole world for as long as I can remember. Since I was 2 years old, they’ve been the thing that made me feel safe, excited, motivated, and understood.

That hasn’t changed.

Right now I am dealing with some medical issues, which is why I’m only working here and there for the moment. But this isn’t the end of anything...

Took a little break from things while I sorted out some family things, but in the meantime we've done a little Desensitization and Counter Conditioning with Winney! My wonderful Training Assistant own dog. Winney has a handful of medical, neurological, and touch sensitive issues that Hunter has patiently been working through for years.

But there's one thing that is just not getting there.

The dreaded nail trim. So many fearful, reactive, rescued/adopted, traumatized or just straight up spoiled dogs HATE getting their nails trimmed. It's just too up close and personal, hurts and doesn't make any sense to dogs.

By doing some desensitization and counter conditioning we are able to help Winney understand the importance of sitting calmly while we get a trim. . This will be a slow process, stay tuned for more!

Busy bee kinda day yesterday working with some absolute beauties!

First was our session with Kermit! We took a big leap and took him out to his old stomping grounds, the Peterborough Humane Society, which we used for some intentional and control set ups to understand and reduce his reactivity. Kermit is desperate to play with other dogs, however his desperation may not be received well by other dogs. Slowly but surely we will get this boy a playdate. My Rooster is waiting patiently for his playdate.

Second we had a consultation with the Beautiful Roxy. Roxy is an 8 year old Shiloh Shep mix with a heart of gold and nerves as fragile as a snowflake. Roxy is going to be building up her confidence, learning how to focus on mom and most importantly trust her mom's guidance in scary and unpredictable situations.

Lastly we took adorable and Adoptable Gretel on a much needed walk. Gretel is also a very pent up pup that is not handling life in a centre so well, making her more reactive and less focused. Gretel has SO much potential, is learning fast and is a bundle of joy. Whoever adopts this beautiful girl will get a best friend for life 💜 contact the to learn more about Gretel and any other animals they have in their care!
