The government has allowed pet groomers to remain open during this new shutdown. If you have an appointment scheduled it will be still available for you. If you are not comfortable coming please give me at least 24 hours notice or there will be a no show fee.

ATTENTION ALL CLIENTS: PLEASE READ.

Rayna's Groom Room will remain closed until we are allowed to fully resume operations as mandated by the Provincial Government.
Despite the recent news reports we are only allowed to do emergency care, and with a veterinarian’s note recommending such care. If you think that your dog requires an emergency groom, please contact your veterinarian first.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls, emails and texts and regret that we cannot answer each and every one. We understand the need to return to some semblance of normal, it is our goal as well.

Your support is much appreciated through these difficult times. We are looking forward to getting back to business but, right now, we have strict limitations on what we can do. Please be patient. As soon as we get firm guidance from the Province, we will be in touch.

We truly apologize for the inconvenience the current Lockdown has caused.

You can have a Massage, go to the Dentist, get curbside service at every store, even go inside to pick up a Timmie's Coffee?!!
.. but you can't get your dog groomed with 100% contactless curbside dropoff/pickup!

Key Points to make in your letter ;

Pet grooming is important because we are providing care for the health and welfare of living beings that are in people’s homes.

Pet owners don’t want to neglect their pets and most are unable to manage the nails and the coats of their pets. Many people want to bring their pets to their groomers.

I would like to suggest that Pet Grooming businesses be allowed to re-open their doors, if they have a solid Covid Operational Plan in place and can do curbside service, for the following reasons:

· Pet groomers can do business without having face to face interaction with clients because appointment and payments can be managed online or by text and phone.

· Pet groomers have “curb side” drop off and pick up via various methods such as use of an outdoor kennel, use of a foyer or reception area.

· Removal of dog collar and leashes and going straight to the tub will eliminate covid dangers on the dogs fur.

· Groomers wear masks for many grooming procedures already. They also wear them to prevent contamination of the pet when it is clean.

· Pet groomers are all trained in disinfection procedures to prevent diseases and infestations.

· Pet groomers trim hair which helps owners find ticks and/or other skin issues on their pets and prevent the animals from overheating as well as sanitary trims that help keep animals clean in their homes.

Not permitting pets to be groomed long term actually contravenes both federal and provincial laws. The Animal Welfare Act of Canada section 444-2447 of the Criminal Code prohibits causing unnecessary pain suffering or injury to an animal... and causing damage or injury by wilful neglect. The Provincial Animal Service Act 2019 Ontario section 15 prohibits causing distress and permitting distress section 13 speaks to the obligations for the standards of care for animals

Dear valued clients and their pets,
WE MISS YOU !!
This pandemic is like nothing we have ever experienced. Due to Ontario government regulations due to covid-19 we are mandated to be closed to any grooming services. The fines for not being closed is between $10,000.-25,000. If we are caught/ reported. Section 23 of the shutdown guidelines states that only emergency grooming be performed by a licensed veterinarian or their staff.
Although some Ontario groomers have gotten permission to operate from their MPP or bylaw offices there any many others who have been told they cannot. The fact is that municipal authorities cannot override a provincial order.
Letters have been sent to the premiers office by several organizations and many many individuals trying to Express how essential we are to the health and welfare of the pets we care for. We would encourage you to also contact the premiers office to Express your opinions on this matter should you choose to do so.
We understand the frustration caused by not being able to get your pet groomed causes . We look forward to getting back to work as soon as the provincial government gives us the go ahead . In the meantime do your best to brush and comb your pets and ask your vet to do nails as needed.

Just to give you all an update of my poodle puppy. Little timbit is now almost three weeks old. Her eyes and ears are open and she weighs about 3.5 lbs and growing. She toddler around the whelping box and barks and growls. She has been renamed Ella by her new owner and will live in Toronto with a lovely lady. I still get to enjoy her for the next 7 weeks.

Hi guys. All booked up until the 5th of January and filling up fast!!!

Remember we are gunning for dogs that stay on a 12 week schedule or better. This makes for a pleasant shop environment and cuts down drastically the liability we encounter when taking on over due pets.

It's important to us that every dog coming into our shop has a good experience! Training and appropriate schedules are key to ensuring this.

It's Also Very important in the new year that you stay on a appropriate schedule for your requested cut. Dematting is hard on dogs and groomer. This will be taken into consideration moving forward.

If you are interested in pre-booking 2021 please let us know and we will be happy to do this on the Christmas break

With the new COVID restrictions we are able to continue to be open however will now be doing curbside service only. This means when you arrive for your appointment please text me at 5192129984 and we will come out to collect your pet. Please ensure you are wearing a mask. When it is time for you to collect your pet we will bring your pet and the debit/credit machine out to you along with your pet. We will not be accepting cash unless it is in a sealed envelope.
