Are you a Scent Detection student? Do you think you might be ready to trial but are unsure of what to expect? We know how scary that can be so we are offering FUN match with SDDA style Speed, Aerial, and Distance Games as well as CWAGS Level 2 and Ranger 1 style searches.
Sign up and take the first steps toward competing with your dog. You will get to experience a fun and friendly trial atmosphere without all of the pressure.

These classes are for students who have foundation skills in rally and are ready for sequencing and courses. We will run courses using CKC Novice, and WCRL level 1 signs, work through challenges and troubleshoot.

Our Potatoes had a fantastic time at the WCRL rally trial last weekend! Little Pearl and big softie Malokai both earned their level 2 titles with excellent scores and are making great progress towards their ARCH Championships!! So exciting!!!
Our official mascots Penny and Bui Bui also had a great weekend. Penny completed her level 3 title and earned her ARCHX Championship, while brother Bui Bui has a great time entertaining his audience of fans with runs full of pizzazz and flair!

We have exciting news!
The Flying Potatoes Agility Drop-In's are back this fall. There are no pre-requisites for these beginner friendly drop-ins so everyone is welcome. We provide a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for dogs and their people. All of our agility classes, including drop-ins, are one-on-one so dogs that are shy, reactive, or just need some extra space are welcome to attend. An instructor will introduce you and your dog to a variety of equipment including jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and contacts.
Classes are held Friday evenings at 6:30 or 7:30pm in NE Calgary (Sit Happens). Max 4 dogs per class, $35 +tax per dog.

Rally Obedience is an immensely popular dog sport that helps you and your dog build a stronger connection and better communication. It is a fantastic way for those who want to develop skills beyond basic obedience through a fun and interactive activity.
Rally also has the bonus benefit of improving your dog's physical health. The exercises learned in Rally will help your dog develop better physical strength, fitness, and body awareness.

We offer Agility Foundation programs 1-3 for teams new to the sport. Classes cover basic handling skills and introduction to obstacles including Jumps, Tunnels, Contacts, and Weaves. Our Advanced Agility programs 4-6 are for teams who have completed the first 3 programs and want to continue to build on handling and communication skills.
All of our agility programs are one-on-one with only 1 dog working in the space with the instructor at a time. This safe environment is perfect for dogs that are easily distracted, shy, or need extra space.
Agility Foundations: Sundays @ 2pm/3pm
Advanced Agility: Fridays @ 6:30pm/7:30pm
Max 4 dogs per class. $95+tax for 3 weeks.

We are very excited to welcome Carrie McAunaul to the Flying Potatoes team of instructors this fall. Carrie will be leading the Intro to Scent Detection program starting in September and we can't wait for this exciting program to start!

About Carrie:
Carrie is a Calgary-based certified dog trainer and Certified Trick Dog Instructor. She and her German Shepherd, Glitch, are very active competing in several disciplines and are always looking to learn new skills. Glitch attained her SDDA Master Championship in Scent Detection at 22 months old and were the first Calgary-based team to earn their SDDA Elite Championship and Grand Master Championship titles.
Carrie also competes with her Chinese Crested, Zipporwhill, who holds titles in several scent related disciplines so far. Nothing makes Carrie happier than developing her relationship with her dogs and helping other teams grow and achieve their goals.
Just because it's summer break, it doesn't mean we are slacking!
Congratulations to our Potatoes Monty, Kona, Shilo, Kirin, Lyla, and Henley (not in the photo) for an amazing and successful NADAC agility trial this past weekend! They came home with great memories, hilarious action shots, new titles, and smiles on their faces.
The mission of Flying Potatoes has always been to have fun with your dogs above all else, and these teams have done exactly that. Congrats again!!!

Hello! My name is Churmy. Like many others, I enrolled in puppy classes with my first dog Bui Bui because he was so naughty! He wouldn’t listen, particularly when outdoors, because everything was more exciting than me! I ventured into agility as a fun way to engage with him and building a stronger bond. From there, my passion for dog training grew and I became more involved in dog sports and began sharing my love for fun and positive training by teaching others. I have 8 years of dog training experience in a variety of dog sports, and a PhD in Neurosciences with animal behaviour as a specialization. Together with my two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers Bui Bui and Penny, we have so far earned 26 agility titles, 4 rally titles, and 7 trick titles as a team, 2 Canine Good Neighbour titles, and counting! My goal is to share my love for agility and dog training through fun, positive, and inclusive programs with the focus on building happier, healthier, and more confident dogs.
