Big Helping Rescue Cats welcome to Maximus 🥰
He is a very lucky kitten. When our wonderful friend and supporter Lois noticed a kitten outside, she did what all of us in rescue hope for. She DID SOMETHING 😊
She borrowed a trap, checked to make sure there was a place for kitty to go and then set the trap and diligently watched it. Maximus decided today was the day. Lois even drove him up to us. We all appreciate this, it does take a village.
We will update in a few days on when Maximus will be ready to look for his furever home 😺

Baby Ralphie is an example of a kitten in the care of Helping Rescue Cats that the funds raised from the “Betty White Challenge” would go towards. He was found like this, with both of his eyes missing. Although, we do not yet know from the vet to what extent, he is definitely going to need surgery.

We were asked to help and couldn’t say no to this sweet 4 month old boy! Any funds raised today from the Betty White Challenge will go directly to the vet bills of Baby Ralphie. He is currently in foster and we will let you know when he is available for adoption at a later date.

This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to write. Wyatt passed away today. He was in his bed and suddenly became distressed. I rushed over, held him, tried to figure out what was wrong, and he stopped breathing. It was very quick. I tried CPR, but he was gone.

I’m not okay. I probably won’t be okay for a while. Wyatt was my whole life for the last 10 months. I know there are hundreds of great memories, but each one feels like a shard of glass.

He was the happiest baby ever. He knew nothing but love. And I miss him more than anything.

Thank you for all you did to give him the best life.

I love you, Wyatt. I love you with my whole, shattered heart.

This is all I’m able to write for now. 💔

Here’s beautiful Cocoa, Eggnogs sister. I apologize for not posting anything on her. It always breaks my heart a little to see her happy, healthy, playing, thriving. I know it’s a good thing…but I’m sad her brother isn’t here with her…doing these things along side her.

When you lose a medical case and they were by themselves…I hate to say it’s “easier” but, you don’t have a constant reminder still living of what they should be doing. When a baby dies and leaves behind littermates…until they are all adopted it’s a constant reminder of the one you couldn’t save. I’ll never see Cocoa without Eggnog. Loss is hard but we have to keep going as there are always more in need.

When your dog is your soulmate, it feels like they’ve seen the depths of who you are and decided to love you anyway, flaws and all. There’s no pretense with them.
