I am enjoying my “all ages” morning walks with my pack. Kalleigh, three years old, always leads the way. Our two juniors stay in close proximity to me to keep safe. And Cooper and I, both seniors, amble along at the end of the pack!
It is nice to hear how the “kids” are doing! Polly shows her aunt Roxy (Piper/Louis) how well she can walk on a leash!
We are giving our two puppies who are with us for two additional weeks lots of new experiences. If Cookie’s family kayak or canoe, their dog will be ready to hop right in!
When the temperature came down, the puppies came out and played and played and played!
Parker picks his family when he joins them in the “hands in” challenge (see Instagram)!
Puppies love their daily outdoor play! They are developing their bodies, gaining confidence, learning about their world, and having lots of fun too! And my daughter, Grayce, is in her happy place with these cuties!
My daughter, Grayce, has started taking puppies out for walks to the barn and the pond to expand their horizons! She takes two at a time for manageability. This time it is Red Collar, female and Turquoise collar, male.
Sunday Play Time! The weather cleared and puppies got some play time in their outdoor pen. They absolutely love the tunnel!
Happy 5 week Birthday Puppies🎊
They had a short outdoor play time. Too hot to keep them out for too long.
Time for a change of environment!
The puppies went outside for some outdoor play on our deck today.
It is interesting to watch their reaction. It was a bit scary for the first few minutes. We brought Molly into the pen to feed and reassure the puppies.
We kept puppies outside for about 20 minutes but will increase the time each day so long as the sun is shining!
Now that Molly is not so tied down with the “kids”, she enjoys joining Cooper and I when we do evening chores!
Moving up to the big White House! As soon as the puppies start eating solid food, momma stops cleaning up the pee/poo. So it is time for puppies to begin housetraining. They are learning, very well I might add, to go to the toilet area of their puppy box. There will be lots of changes in puppies’ accommodation in the days/weeks ahead as they learn this skill and also, are ready for more experiences and stimulation.
Puppies are four weeks old today and they show how ready they are to eat solid foods. This new beginning shifts the relationship between Molly and her pups. She will begin to detach from her puppies, knowing that they are becoming independent. Over the next couple of weeks the puppies will move to four solid food meals a day. Molly will be check in with them for moral support and to make sure they are doing OK. This journey from helpless blind deaf newborn to active, alert and trainable puppies happens so quickly!
