Who remembers Pirate??

Pirate is now named Farrah and living her best life with her mom in Nova Scotia! She goes to day care regularly and loves water.

We took in Farrah 2 years ago when a family surrendered her to our local vet clinic. They were not allowed to keep her in their rental so Farrah was living in their car. Thankfully her family decided she deserved better and gave her a second chance at a better life. We took Farrah in and found her the perfect home 🥰.

(Farrah was not out of our kennel, just a shepherd in need ☺️)

Fully vaccinated, treated for worms, fleas, and ticks.
Crate trained and doing very well with house training.
This girl is exceptional! From her stunning beauty to her goofy antics, she will be someone’s best friend for ever!
Astrid is a great prospect for most dog sports (CKC, agility, rally, club/entry level IGP). She is active and loves to play. She is good natured and gets along with dogs, cats, and kids. She is confident and outgoing.

Our kennel is still young and as we move along we continue to refine our breeding and showing goals. We have big aspirations and goals. We have had to make many tough decisions and one of those is the realization that Astrid and her lines don’t fit into our future plans. This means we will have to make the tough decision to find the perfect family for her.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with her, we are simply moving away from working lines entirely (she is 1/4 working line, 3/4 show line) and moving away from CKC conformation and focusing on SV style siegershows.

Handsome Mr. Tiko!

We are contemplating using him in our breeding program after all!

He has fully recovered from his mysterious GI illness.
He never responded to steroids or any of the hydrolyzed diets and antibiotics like an IBD dog normally would.
He’s been off all meds and prescription diets for over a month and is doing great. Gaining his weight back, great appetite, his coat quality has returned. The last thing we are waiting to return to normal is his semen quality 😅. Something we will continue to check regularly 🤞.

Our puppies are socialized with dogs of all sizes. Here they are meeting Tila the chihuahua for the first time 🥰

The puppies are now 2 weeks old which is an interesting age! They are able to walk (though not very gracefully haha) and they are beginning to interact with their environment. They have started to recognize and play with their siblings and humans, they like to nibble on fingers although they have no teeth yet. Their ENS and ESI are nearly complete with 2 days to go. They have had their nails trimmed and received their first dewormer. Our job now is to expose them to a new object and/or experience each day. During these early days we start with human baby toys and large, soft puppy toys to introduce different textures and sounds.

Babies are 3 days old! They are doing amazing, gaining weight daily. Today we started their ENS and ESI. They are handled and loved daily (and get lots of kisses 😉). They are just perfect, I love them so much 😍.

We have 3 beautiful babies so far 🥰. 2 girls and 1 boy. Iska is being a fantastic mom. We have 1 more puppy to go. Iska is taking a bit of a break so it’s going to be a long night!

Iska is such a beautiful mover 😍. The German Shepherd Dog is a herding breed. Their style of herding is called “tending”. They were bred to essentially be a living fence to contain their flock of sheep. The behaviour you see Iska displaying in this video is typical of a German Shepherd tending their sheep. A well bred GSD can gait like this for hours. In this video Iska has already been doing this for 2 hours with no sign of slowing down. Genetics are amazing!
