Mountain Cornflower, also known as Centaurea montana, is a beautiful blue wildflower that is native to Europe and is popular in gardens around the world for its bright blue color and tendency to attract a wide variety of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

One of the most important roles that cornflowers play in the ecosystem is as a source of nectar and pollen for these pollinators. Bees and butterflies, in particular, are known to visit cornflowers frequently to gather nectar and pollen to feed on and take back to their hives or nests.

Apart from serving as a vital food source for pollinators, cornflowers also produce a tiny black seed. These seeds are a great source of food for small birds like the Jellow Finch, which enjoy snacking on them throughout the year.
