Reptile Ready Oak Leaf Litter plays an important role in bioactive enclosures. Leaf litter provides hiding places for isopods, springtails, and animals. Leaf litter mimics the role of decaying plant matter in nature and adds nutrients back into the soil as it slowly decays.

One package contains approximately 2 litres of sanitized Canadian oak leaves. Provides adequate coverage of approximately 36 x 18" / 91 x 45cm.

Reptile Ready Springtails help keep your vivarium clean, which means fewer substrate changes. These insects live in the substrate of your vivarium and eat waste, mold, and decaying organic matter. Springtails are low maintenance and aid in the bioactive cycle of your vivarium.

The springtails are in an 8 oz plastic deli cup with horticultural charcoal for substrate and brewer's yeast for food.

Please note that springtails do require some moisture to survive. Simply mist a dark place in your enclosure (such as underneath a rock, leaf litter, hide, piece of wood) to provide them a moist hiding place.
