Out of the storm and into the warm!

Seven babies and one very in need mama were rescued from under a security trailer last night. Mama is in pretty rough shape, very skinny and dehydrated, but nothing good food can't fix!

Just want to say a BIG, BIG thank you to Amanda and her family at Northern Transitional Dog Rescue who took in these 7 orphaned pups who lost their mama at such a young age.

She had a mother dog still nursing who lovingly took in all these babies and is raising them like her own. 🩷 feeding and cleaning all these babies is an almost impossible job for a human. We can learn so much from these dogs.

I really cannot tell you what a relief it's been since they have opened up. This is something a person in our world only dreams of happening, someone to come and provide a HUGE relief to the rest of the area. One person alone can not be rescuing from multiple communities. You burn out, I burned out. So thank you for coming along and being not only my savior but the dogs, too. ❤️🙏

Cold Lake & Meadow Lake Followers! The dogs and evacuees need your help! If you can help please go directly to Northern Transitional Dog Rescue page to donate, volunteer or foster!

La Ronge transport got here at 2:30am with over 20 puppies and 4 adult dogs.

We will be posting photos of the dogs throughout the day, if your dog is here please message us.

A few public service workers and volunteers remain in the town feeding the left behind animals.

There is volunteers from NAR feeding and watering pets that have been left behind. Please contact them if you have animals there.

Another transport is coming today IF the highway remains open. If you have a dog needing to come to NTDR please contact us.

We have been e transferring money to evacuees who have their dogs with them. Money for kennels, dog food, leashes etc.

Update: Our Pixie did not make it 💔 Was a very hard loss..

Please pray for our Pixel! She was hospitalized first thing this morning at Labrash Vet for Parvo. She's on an IV, and we are all holding our breaths her tiny body can pull through.

Our newest intake, Pixie! 💖

Please send her little body all the healing vibes the next couple of days as she is currently not eating or feeling good. Hopefully, she just has a bad case of roundworms and not something more serious like parvo. 🙏

I waited a couple extra days before doing another update on Vinny so as not to jump the gun like previously with his health journey.

Vinnys visited Dr. Ed Labrash in Meadow Lake this week, and he decided to put him on steroids and more antibiotics just to rule out Allergic Skin Disease before we do more invasive testings. The big guy wasn't eating the first day or so on the steroids but has improved again.

Today, he has so much sass. Howling at me when I stop petting him.
Thank you to everyone who donated to Vinnys care and medications! He has a check-up again in 2 weeks to see if he's made any progress. He's continued to shock me with his recovery and his fight to live.

We love you, Vin.

Vinny is still with us, and he said he wants to fight!

After the last post Vinny made a big change for the better. He was eating more, putting on weight and overall just more energetic. I want to be 100% sure this is not something Vinny can fight with a bit of help.

Wednesday, he goes for a skin biopsy, but we need help with funds to cover the costs of his testings!
