Duke turns one and he’s realy impressed me. He has an amazing off switch, loves the kids and hanging around the house. But when it’s time to work he’s all business. We still have some work to do but hunting season is going to be a blast.

Meet duke . He’s my new personal dog here at green haven and has some big shoes to fill taking over for buck. Pretty excited to see him figure it out.

Something new here at green haven then the usual bird dogs. Meet Fred. He’s a blue tick coonhound pup with lots of drive. Excited to get working him on a track and see what we can accomplish.

This pretty little short hair is ruby. We have been working on some retrieving and some recall today. She definitely has a big personality and is fun to work with.

Copper has bin working on some obedience lately. Working on place training and some patients. A great pedigree and proper breeding has made for a pup that’s a pleasure to work with and has tons of potential.

After a day of hunting we get to play !!!!Proper socialization is key to a great family pet. This is why alivia is their favourite human. I’m not sure who’s having more fun !!!

First bird of the year for buck. Was a little slow on my camera but he chased this cripple a long ways. near perfect delivery and he was having fun !!!

Had a little break from harvest to get out today and work on some more scent work. Tryed to set up a scenario of a wounded or crippled bird that has hidden. All about building confidence at this point.

Doing a little scent work this morning. We had just enough wind. High humidity and a little shower helped with scenting. Ultimately setting her up for success and building confidence

Buck had a little refresher on hand signals and the whistle tonight. Hunting seasons just around the corner and like any athlete it’s important to put in the work to stay on top of there game.

Since our sit and stay game seems strong we decided to start recall with the whistle. obedience training is a must. And a good bird dog starts at home. Sit, stay and a good recall are a must.

After some failed attempts over the last few days I decided to try a wing because I figured she couldn’t resist. Stella decided she indeed was a lab and can swim. Now the problem is keeping her out of the water. Stella 14 weeks.
