Less than two years ago, I sold a 2 month old puppy to a young man named Sheldon Fyten, which would be his first dog. Sheldon had grown up with his dad's Brittany that I bred, and now he hoped for one he could field trial and hunt with. He named her Kinley, registered as Kinwashkly Kinley Haze and he set about training her to be a bird dog. Her first field trial season was successful as she won her puppy points and several other placements in puppy and derby. She was very consistent and always in the ribbons. Last spring, I was surprised to see Young Sheldon had entered her in adult stakes when she was barely out of puppy age, but after following her around in a few stakes, I realized that this pair had done well and she was truly broke. She earned an amateur major at that tender age, as well as more derby placements. She also completed her requirements in tests to earn a Field Dog Junior title. This fall started off well, with Kinley and Sheldon winning the derby stake at the first trial of the season. Two weeks later, Kinley was second in the Amateur Shooting dog stake at the Calgary Pointing Dog club stake, handled by Sheldon's dad, Rod. The next day, in the Open Shooting dog stake, Kinley scored a 5 point major by winning with many finds, stop to flushes, and a back, handled by Sheldon. That made her a field champion, pending Canadian Kennel Club confirmation, 5 days before her second birthday! We are very proud of this young team! Kinley is from the breeding of DC/NGDC Kinwashkly King Louie and Ch. Kinwashkly Charming Wee Ms. D. Kinley is a bird finding machine, and now with trial season wrapped up, she is out pheasant hunting!
