Currently celebrating our 25th year, Mississauga Humane Society (MHS) is a registered non-profit, no-kill charity, founded in 1999. We have grown over the years but the mission remains the same: to save as many animals as possible. The organization runs on the unpaid labour of an extensive network of passionate volunteers and our dedicated board members. Our volunteers rescue and foster hundreds

of cats and dogs every year in Mississauga and beyond. Having many caring foster homes enables us to work closer with our community and allows homeless dogs and cats to thrive in a home environment until they are adopted. Many of the animals we get into our care have had rough starts, behavioral issues, and their self-confidence shattered; our foster homes provide a nurturing and loving environment to build up these hurt souls to become their best selves again!

Fundraising events, donations and sponsors cover essentials: food and medical expenses until the cats and dogs are placed into permanent, loving homes. Every dollar raised, every volunteer hour goes only towards the welfare of our furry friends we're always happy to hear from you.!

He has a permanent ligature mark around his neck (where something very tight was placed and had grown into his neck). He was in the vet clinic for several months, receiving intensive treatment for his many infected wounds. Sean also had multiple fractured and infected teeth. Once he regained his health, over the course of multiple surgeries, Sean's damaged teeth were removed. He visits the vet 4 times a year for wellness checks.

Sean Connery also suffers from neurological damage - it took him months to be able to stand without falling over. Like a true Agent 007, he has overcome adversity, has learned to walk, although never
in a straight line and he can "sort of" run, too.

He has moments where he gets the "zoomies" where he will take off "running" - and before you know it, has crashed into the wall, as he cannot stop properly. That never stops him! He loves attention, loves to "run" and play and loves to eat (he's on Hypo-Allergenic food to treat his food allergies).

These cuties, Selina, Sydney, Saylor and Spencer were rescued from an automotive industrial area. They were approximately 3 -4 months when rescued. They were so small and dirty and hungry. The "runt of the litter" Saylor-actually had fur missing from his paws, legs and belly and his skin was red and inflamed- from the caustic materials he had come into contact with.

Since then they've all been spayed/neutered and immunized. They are not available for adoption yet- as they need time to become more socialized.

Spencer - the beautiful brown tabby- has recently developed seizure activity. He has suffered two grand mal seizures in less than one month. He will be seeing a specialist in January to develop a treatment plan. Because of the Mississauga Humane Society community of volunteers and supporters, we are able to provide our rescue babies with the best of care.🐾💜

On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, we are thankful for "Yule Brenner's" fosters for opening their hearts and home!

Yule was living outside, all alone- and begging for help. He would dig a hole and curl up against a house for warmth, at night. He was rescued at Yule time....so he was named "Yule Brenner". 💚🎄

In the words of his Foster Family:
"He has found his forever loving family!! He will never ever be cold or alone ever again. He came into our lives in January of 2023 as a foster. We realized pretty quickly he would be a foster fail and that his forever home was with us! Despite his size (20lbs of pure love) he is gentle, cuddly, and a major chatterbox. He’s the opposite of shy- he always has to be the centre of attention. He loves when we throw dinner parties because it means more people to pay attention to him. We truly can’t imagine life without him." 🐾
