Today, being our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to remember and honour indigenous children that were forcibly removed from their homes and placed in so called “residential schools” to be tortured and stripped of their culture and identities.

Today and every day I stand in solidarity with indigenous peoples.
🪶
Heal and learn to contribute to truth and reconciliation. Today I will be donating 100% of my proceeds towards the IRSS (Indian Residential School Survivor Fund). Thank you to all my clients who made this possible and for the ones who also help contribute to this donation.

It’s with heavy hearts that last week we had to say goodbye to our beloved friend Mika. She was one of the sweetest and most loving pups I have ever met. She had a way to her that would help break down any walls an anxious dog might have and was constantly playing with whoever would give her attention. She could be quite dramatic at times doing her best to get any other dog to play with her and that part of her quirkiness was a trait that one could laugh at for days. She just loved everyone so much, with all of her heart - maybe that’s what ended up being her downfall in the end. Even though she was in what seemed to be perfect health, it was either a blood clot or a heart attack, but at least she crossed the rainbow bridge quickly.

Mika was only 13 months old which isn’t nearly long enough for any pup. With doing this job, I have quite a few paw prints on my heart over the years and Mika, yours certainly is one of the biggest. I’m so grateful to have had you as a part of my life, you were one special pup. I love you sweet girl Mika! 💜💜💜

Beautiful spayed female. Sweet & affectionate but needing socialization. Has shown some “ reactive” behaviour to dogs on leash and some men. Has lived with other dogs without a problem. Smart girl and has had some recent training with a professional. Sadly having to rehome her but hoping to ...

Thank you for your patience while I take the time to learn about intergenerational trauma and its effects - while paying my respect to the 215 Indigenous children (and their families) that were found in unmarked burial sites at the Kamloops Residential School. 🧡

September 30 is Orange Shirt Day, recognizing the children who suffered and died in Canada’s residential schools. We reflect on the impact that residential schools had and continue to have on indigenous people. We honour residential school survivors and the one who weren’t so lucky to make it home. But we must do more. We must commit to ongoing reconciliation. We must address the lasting effects of colonialism. And we must fight systemic racism.

In honour of some of the strongest, Mercury and I stand with you and wear orange on this day.
