Hey Everyone!!🎉

We thought we would let you know that we have decided to update our terms of service and will be posting these updates in the coming weeks!

Upon these coming updates - will be closed for anymore custom skull orders etc.. until the ones we’ve taken in are completed and given back to customers! We had a very busy christmas! And now it is time to get this back on track and prioritize our business’s future 🤩

*those who have contacted in regards to making arrangements for skulls prior to this post will be able to still get there skulls - on the current terms of service that we stand on!*

We believe that this buisness has the potential to grow and we have to make some changes on our end, and if that means taking a pause on incoming orders to do so then that’s what it takes!

We can’t wait to show you what we have in store we have gained some new materials to work with - to create new ideas for skulls… and it’s going to be extremely exciting! We know you will all understand as we have some of the most patient customers! 🤩

Merry Christmas to all this christmas season - We’d love to extend our gratitude to all for supporting this ever changing small business this season! For only starting at the beginning of November, it sure means the most to have the support we have thus far! It helps me and our little family more then you know, and we are so-so grateful! We wish you all a Merry Christmas as we travel 2 hours east back home after a good day well spent with family here in central AB - To prepare for another day with more of our family! triple S has made it home safe and sound, to the Central Alberta Area also!

This Half fabric half paint mashup was a pretty awesome experience for me, im new to the fabric industry for skulls but it sure turned out pretty cool. I will definitely be doing more of these to get better at them - but I was happy with it overall!

Another one heading to the central Alberta Area for Christmas! Unfortunately I haven’t had the most time to take pictures outdoors, and as you all know it is HECKING COLD OUT THERE!!! So inside photos for these next few skulls!

All but one skull has made it home so far…and once that one has made it home too, I will relax, with my family🎄

What an incredible day to be a skull painter… I may have a cold today but im glad my kitchen is only a few steps away to make some hot chocolate! ☕️

This peice turned out awesome - a little insight here on my side! I like to share how I do, What I do instead of just sharing the end result! These horn caps come from new mexico! And I hand-craft horn bulbs for them to adhere onto, unless the skull already has some which sometimes can be a bonus - this one only had one bulb! Therefore I only had to craft one extra bulb. It still takes a lot of work! waiting for it to set up etc… but I think it worked out pretty awesome.

I just love being able to be creative with these, the opportunities are endless and you don’t always have to go to the store to find what you need! it may just be in your home. - We took an old glass pot , cleaned it up, and smashed it to bits and repainted it to create this beautiful mosaic idea around the eyes. It was definitely time consuming putting all of the little pieces in the right nooks, but it sure was worth it in the end! I just love this skull!

This one is one of our christmas orders headed to the Didsbury Area!

Hi all - Quick update here🎄
I know christmas is quickly approaching and i’m sure you are all wanting to see what is happening here in my workshop! Believe me I am sure working like an Elf.
Those of you with Christmas specific Orders - Your orders will be filled by the 20th and dropped off that day also, as we will be in the area - I will contact you all personally leading up to that day - incase this specific day isn’t do-able for you! Feel free to reach out - but forgive me for my response time as previously mentioned I feel like an elf currently😅
🎄🤎I also wanted to say a big Thank You for your patience during this crazy time!! - it can easily get overwhelming! But, I am so grateful to have such wonderful clients thus far! It means the world that you’ve chosen to support small business this christmas - You’ve given me the gift of opportunity - an you may not notice it, but I will forever cherish that gift! 🤎🎄

This is a perfect post to share that I will be taking orders for these longhorn cattle skulls

However! We’ve happily exceeded our order limit and they will not be available for christmas time. Those of you who have already ordered thank you so much! And those of you wanting some you can still place an order but you will not receive it until after christmas! 🙂

I have horse and cattle skulls that are available for last minute orders up until the 15th of December. That is the last day I will be accepting skulls specifically for the christmas deadline!

I have skulls ready for paint! So be sure to DM me if you are wanting one for you or your loved one this christmas!!

Valhallas calling….⚔️

A bear skull I had gifted to me a while back all painted up and ready for my wall.

Honestly, I’ve been on a kick of some viking songs - they get me pumped up - so I thought i’d paint this viking “protection” symbol on this skull.. I’m pretty stoked - it looks pretty badass to me, and i’m glad to have it!

I figure this is a great time to share I now am cleaning and painting wild game skulls too! *I currently require pre-skinned skulls - and I also will 🚫not🚫 be preserving velvet right now*

All I could hear doing this skull was, “a lil pep in your step!” I’m not sure why but I do know this sure was a fun skull to do. Purple paisleys for my first client!!

Happy to say this one is headed home today to the carstairs area!

Finally got our hands on our hoodies this evening from SRM Design Co. again we are truly so happy they’re so unbelievably soft and we’re so happy with how they look!

Welcome to West of East Skull Design!

I‘m Elizabeth Strang! I am a Newfie with a little Alberta sparkle or as the song goes, “your still just a Newfie in a Calgary hat”.. I’ve been here 5 years as of this August…my family moved to Central Alberta in 2017, and I just recently moved to Eastern Alberta with my significant other Gunnar this year. I like to say I truly adopted the love for the western/ag industry ever since I was old enough to be on the back of a horse, but i’ve been able to embrace it since I stepped off the plane and onto Alberta’s soil!

I grew up hunting and fishing back home but I also always had a knack for creativity and the doing it yourself mentality…growing up with a dad who was quite more then handy with tools and a mom who could paint like bob ross himself, you sure learn a thing or two about where to put what, and what looks good where!

Around this time last year, (wow that’s crazy to say…) I was preparing to head south of the border to taxidermy school down in Montana. Therefore this will be my “side gig” if you will, as im a taxidermist during the day out of Alberta badlands taxidermy for however long it takes me to complete whatever projects i’m working on.. and then i’m a skull painter Lol!

I’d love to welcome you all in joining me on yet, another path in my life’s journey! (in perfect time for Christmas may I remind you😉)

So please Enjoy with me these custom pieces I create.. bringing back to life, livestock spieces (as of right now) and commemorating them for what they were.

I truly hope you stick around, as well as I hope to have you in my client list too!
