Almost a year to the date, Cassia was winding down at the end of a long day when she heard a knock at her front door.

She rushed to the door as it was 10:30 pm, but when she opened the door, there was no one there, no one visibly down the street or anything.

But what she did find was a box taped shut on her doorstep. Within that box were four (4) approximately 6-week old, emaciated, smelly, flea ridden puppies.

Fast forward, all of the puppies found loving homes.

But I want to focus on this beautiful girl, who was adopted by our friends Bob & Andrea. Lucy has grown up to be a true stunner and has a fantastic, easy-going personality.

This is what rescue is about. For every adopted dog, you are helping make room for another dog. 💛

Nebula (Nebby)
Age: 1.8 Years
Breed: Malinois x Shepherd x
Size: Medium
Weight: 50 lbs

Adoption Fee: $650
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Nebula came to Sato Saved as a transfer from another rescue that was closing. She is another dog that was saved from the horrors of the so-called 'rescue' All for the Dogs run by Shawn Bacher.

Based on her past, she has been through a LOT and does initially struggle with trusting new people. But, don't let that deter you - she warms up fast, but it does take her a little time for her to open up to her full potential.

Nebula does not enjoy crates and has some issues with confinement.

Once she loves you, she is loyal to a fault. She is a dog trainers dream dog, as she thrives when she is training and working. Her recall is impeccable. She is super fast and will thrive with an owner who wants a best friend to go on adventures with. A rural environment or someone who works from home, who is active and wants to do dog sports.

This is what we know;

✔️ Good with dog-savvy kids
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Loyal
✔️ Good with dog-savvy cats
✔️ Great recall
✔️ Rural or fenced yard

Nebby can be an escape artist, so she requires a home with an experienced owner who will stay one step ahead of her.

Nebula will be UTD on her vaccinations, microchipped, and is spayed. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

This beautiful girl was surrendered back in September when her owner unfortunately found herself homeless and was living out of her vehicle with two dogs.

She reached out to us in desperation to find a spot for Georgia, as the living conditions were not conducive for this young dog, and she was developing anxiety. Georgia had been a gift, and having become homeless only a few months after getting her, it was during a critical part of her development.

We promised we would do our very best in placing this good girl.

When Georgia first joined Sato Saved, she was quite withdrawn; she was very shy and apprehensive of new people, lacking some very important social skills, and needed more dog exposure.

One of our best fosters took her in, and she has been in a loving home, with a balanced pack of dogs and lots of room to run around and play.

This is what we know;

✔️ Good dogs (prefers male dogs)
✔️ Shows signs of resource guarding with other dogs
✔️ Requires structure and routine
✔️ Good with kids (5+)

Georgia is housebroken and crate trained. However, she will need continued work with her leash manners. Overall, she is a really amazing dog and will make a great addition!

Georgia will be UTD on her vaccinations, microchipped, and is spayed. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

Sophie and her siblings were born 'outside' when their mom Luna was found as a dump. We took in Luna when her puppies were around a few weeks old. Since then, we weaned the puppies, Luna went to a new foster home, and four of the other puppies are adoption / moved to other rescues.

Sophie is a true stunner. She was the only white/tan puppy of the litter and stood out from the beginning! She is less confident than her brothers and would definitely benefit from having another dog in the home. Sophie loves to cuddle with the larger dogs here, and she is a massive sweetheart.

This is what we know;

✔️ Good with kids
✔️ Extremely dog-social
✔️ Loyal
✔️ Good with cats
✔️ Good with livestock
✔️ Rural or fenced yard

Sophie does really well in her crate with a structured routine to help avoid accidents. We are well on our way to working on her house training.

Sophie will be UTD on her vaccinations, microchipped, and is spayed. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

28/11/2024

I have admittedly been humming and hawing whether or not I should share our two newest additions to the farm just because of the rollercoaster we have been on with them.

But, I want to be extremely transparent with the on goings of our farm and what we are up to / the animals here. Without further adue, let me introduce to you Louie.

We welcomed Louie and his brother Douie (who we will introduce separately) almost two weeks ago, when Kyle's dear friend Phil made an extensive road trip to bring them here.

Their mom was saved from a meat truck and had triplets shortly after she had arrived at Count Your Blessings Farm. It's common with triplets that the mom will only feed one of the lambs, so both boys were looking for a new home to bottle raise them.

As many of you know, bottle babies pull heavily at my heart strings, and I love the experience although mentally and physically draining.

The morning the boys were set to arrive, we were told that Louie wasn't acting right and if we still wanted him, and of course, we said yes and would work with our amazing vets to determine what's going on. We understand and acknowledge how quickly things can change for bottle babies and how one minute they can be thriving and the next minute not.

In layman's terms, since Louie has gotten here, he has exhibited multiple seizures; star gazing and thrashing (PEM). The fact that he is still alive is a true testament to his resilience. Louie's body, despite his neuro issues, works great. He eats like a champ, poops and pees normally.

Yesterday, we made the trip to see Dr. Jon at Miller Veterinary Service and this is what was determined;

✔️ We believe he is fighting to live, and we are giving him another week to see how much he improves further
✔️ He is on a regiment of medications, DEX, Thiamine, and probiotics and was administered iron
✔️ He is most likely partially / fully deaf
✔️ He is blind in one eye
✔️ He does have some brain damage, and we need to wait to see the extent of it

In the meantime, we will love him unconditionally and make sure he is happy and comfortable. 💛

ADOPTABLE

Cruize
Age: 8-Months
Breed: Manitoba Mutt
Size: Medium
Weight: 35 lbs

Adoption Fee: $850
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Cruize came to Sato Saved Dog Rescue through their friends at Save A Dog Network Canada.

Cruize came from a community in Manitoba where dogs are dying by the hour with no vet care or food.

They're being hit hard with medical and parvo cases. This lucky boy tested negative for Parvo, so he got the green light to come to Ontario so he could receive some much needed TLC, get the mange under control, and treat his Giardia.

Cruize is packing on the weight he desperately needs and is about 8-months old and should mature as a medium-sized dog. He appears to be some type of retriever cross.

As you can tell, Cruize has come a long way since he arrived in Ontario.

This is what we know about Cruize;

✔️ Good with kids
✔️ Extremely dog-social
✔️ Loyal
✔️ Dog-savvy cats
✔️ Good with livestock, but needs reminders
✔️ Fenced yard

Cruize is well on his way to being house trained, and he does very, very well in his crate training. He is very dog-social and would benefit from having doggie siblings or friends that he can play with often.

Cruizw will be UTD on his vaccinations and is neutered. An adoption application needs to be sent to Sato Saved directly at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

This is Charlie.

Charlie is another suspected dump victim in Grey Highlands when he was found extremely emaciated with a few wounds on his fragile body.

We want this post to not only shed light on Charlie who is looking for a foster-to-adopt home, but to also 'piggy-back' on the outrage that people have expressed over the dumped dogs found in Howick Township, this past weekend.

Charlie (his new name) was picked up in the Markdale area on November 1st by Animal Control when he was secured by a concerned community member. He has since completed his stray hold where he remained unclaimed, and since being in a safe environment with plenty of food, he is successfully gaining weight!

Animal Control for our local areas do NOT have long-term boarding solutions available, and often times there is a plea to rescues and even shelters to pull unclaimed dogs. The pleas don't stop...

Although overwhelmed with dogs, Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation has agreed to intake Charlie so we can begin vetting him.

Upon first meeting him, this is what we have observed;

✔️ No prey drive
✔️ Quiet
✔️ Decent on leash
✔️ No food or resource guarding

It will be a little while before we introduce him to the other animals, so stay tuned as we will be doing an official adoption post for him in a couple of weeks.

Should you wish to donate to his care, you can e-transfer Sato Saved directly; [email protected]

Welcome our newest foster, Cruize.

**NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION**

He joined Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation through their friends at Save A Dog Network Canada.

Cruize is 25 lbs and is about 7 months old and should mature as a medium-sized dog. He appears to be some type of retriever cross.

As you can tell, Cruize is looking handsome now that his beautiful long black fur is growing in, and his swelling has gone down drasrically. Now, we need to continue to focus on his tummy and put the weight on him!

Cruize is currently acclimating to being in a pack, learning proper manners around the farm animals, and working on his crate training... and honestly, he is doing amazing.

He is incredibly loyal and sweet, loves other dogs, and he aims to please his people.

**ADOPTED**

Maggie
Age: 2-Years
Breed: English Springer Spaniel
Size: Medium
Weight: 30 lbs

Adoption Fee: $850
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

This stunning lady is Maggie; energetic, loyal, and social butterfly.

Maggie came to us as an immediate foster through CMHA Grey Bruce Case Management Program back in August when her dad had to go into a program last-minute.

We had her for about two weeks, and then she was returned to her dad - while she was here, we worked on her house training and manners.

Fast forward to October, we were contacted again, but this time to see if we could facilitate her as an owner surrender. With Sato Saved being inundated with surrenders daily, we didn't want to burden Cassia, but Maggie is an incredible dog who we really didn't mind taking back as a foster.

This is what we know about Maggie;

✔️ Good with kids (5+)
✔️ Extremely dog-social
✔️ Loyal
✔️ Dog-savvy cats
✔️ Rural or fenced yard

Maggie is a true stunner, and her dad loved her immensely, so we are happy to be able to help her find her new forever home.

She aims to please but will require further training and obedience work as she is a bit of a wild child as she likes to test boundaries.

Maggie is about 90% house trained and has an accident here and there in the home, and we are actively working on her crate training (structure is key with this young lady).

Maggie LOVES other dogs. She would benefit from having doggie siblings or friends that she can play with often. She is hands down one of the most playful dogs we've had here.

Maggie will be UTD on her vaccinations and is scheduled for her spay. An adoption application needs to be sent to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation and the document can be found here;

Thankful.

This past weekend; after Halloween, we could have never expected how many pumpkins and even straw donations we would receive.

Last year, we received maybe eight pumpkins, so we thought to expect the same this year as well. It's safe to say we surpassed that amount.

🎃 60 pumpkins
🌾 8 straw bales

Thank you to all of you who showed immense generosity and to those who offered, but we just couldn't take anymore!
