FOSTER-TO-ADOPT

Looking for a loyal, laid-back companion with a heart as big as his fur coat? We have been contacted by a family in the Mennonite Community in Grey Highlands who are looking to rehome their dog.

Check
Age: 3-Years
Breed: King Shepherd x
Size: Large
Weight: 100lbs

What we have been told;
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with kids (10+)
✔️ Good with livestock
✔️ Respects fencing
❌️ No cats
❌️ No fast hand movements

After an initial meet-and-greet Check is a big, beautiful bundle of fur who is incredibly well-mannered. When we met him, he didn’t bark, didn’t jump—just calmly, came over for a sniff, and showed a curious, gentle nature. He’s respectful and sweet.

While he doesn’t currently get a lot of one-on-one attention, you can tell he’s craving engagement and mental stimulation. He would thrive in a home where he can learn the ropes of being an indoor family dog, enjoy regular playtime, and soak up some love.

What we’re looking for;
A foster-to-adopt home—someone who can welcome Check into their family and work with us as he completes his vetting. This ensures his transition is smooth, and his future is bright.

If you have/are;
✔️ A secure yard
✔️ No cats
✔️ A love for big, fluffy companions
✔️ Time to teach him what home life is all about
✔️ Willingness to crate train
✔️ Within an hour of Kitchener/Brantford

If you are interested, please send an email directly to Sato Saved Dog Rescue via email at [email protected].

The past two weeks have been incredibly difficult for me personally, as I’ve been coping with the sudden and unexpected loss of a dear friend.

In the midst of grief, I’ve been deeply moved and comforted by the amazing support I’ve received from our volunteers. Whether it’s helping with spay/neuter transports, giving dogs baths, walking and socializing new fosters, cleaning out the goat and sheep yard, collecting and stacking hay, donating food, or even cutting the grass (Charlie’s favorite!), their help has truly made a difference.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to:

Kerri, Sophia & Charlie
Jessica, Ellowyn & Magnolia
Becky & Porter
Melissa
Joan
Rhonda
Liam
Kayla
Lynn

Your kindness, time, and willingness to step up have helped carry me through this tough time. I am so grateful for each of you.

It's been just over two weeks since we celebrated the one-year anniversary of this stunning lady’s arrival at the farm.

Her transition was one of the more challenging ones we've experienced. She had a deep bond with her mom, and farm life was a big change for her. We took extra precautions to ensure her safety and comfort in her stall as she adjusted.

After completing her quarantine, we slowly introduced her to Dolly and Audrey — and it was as if everything clicked into place. They bonded instantly, and she was overjoyed to finally have sheep companions.

While it took a bit longer for her to build trust with us, she has truly blossomed. She’s become such a lovely girl — curious, gentle, with eyes that are simply mesmerizing, and a heartwarming sweetness in her demeanor.

We’re also incredibly grateful that her mom visits often. It’s so special to see their bond remain strong and to have her original family still be a part of her life.

Meet Milo, one of our newest fosters! His family made the tough decision to surrender him, but we’re focusing on the positive—Milo is now on his way to finding his forever home!

Milo is a three-year-old Cockapoo with the signature Cocker Spaniel look and has wild, surfer-dude hair that adds to his charm and personality.

Here’s what we know so far:

✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Great with kids
✔️ Used to a fenced yard
✔️ Crate-trained
✔️ House-trained

Milo is already bonding with his people after just a couple of days, showing how much he was loved in his previous home.

Stay tuned for his official adoption post once we complete his vetting!

🎉 UPDATE: JACK IS BACK HOME 🎉

Two days ago, we shared a post about a malnourished, defeated, but incredibly sweet dog who was found near Formosa by some caring campers. Today, we are beyond thrilled to share a happy update on his journey.

Thanks to an incredible team effort across multiple municipalities — Brockton, South Bruce, and Huron-Kinloss — the right people were connected, and all proper protocols were followed. We are so grateful for the open communication and swift support from everyone involved.

Working in rescue, it’s easy to fear the worst when you see a dog in such rough shape. And while we may never know what Jack went through in the last 2–3 weeks while he was missing, one thing is certain: he is safe, he is loved, and he is HOME.

Meet Jack, a 10-year-old American Bulldog who reminded us all that sometimes lost souls just need a little help to find their way back. His reunion with his dad was nothing short of emotional — cries of excitement, tail wags, and the kind of joy only a dog can express. From broken to beaming in a matter of moments.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who shared our post — over 200 shares — proving just how powerful social media can be. A big thank you to Melissa and Jill, who secured Jack on Saturday and stopped for nothing to ensure he had a safe place to land. And a heartfelt thanks to Clayton and Jodi, who were absolutely instrumental in locating Jack’s people.

We're sharing some photos of Jack in the car — he was way too excited for a proper photo shoot on his ride back home, but his happiness says it all. 🐶💨

Welcome home, Jack. ❤️

🎉 JACK IS BACK HOME 🎉

FOUND DOG – FORMOSA, ON

On Saturday, July 12, a dog in rough condition wandered into a campground in Formosa, ON, just outside of Walkerton. He was underweight, unkempt, and clearly in need of care. The kind folks who found him—campers from Markdale—did everything they could to find help, but with limited options and no room to keep him, they were desperate for support.

That's when we got the call.

While we aren’t typically set up to house strays, we knew we had to do something. With the help of some generous supporters, we welcomed him in to ensure he’s safe, warm, and looked after while we wait to hear from Animal Control about the next steps and legal stray hold.

What we know so far:
Breed: American Bulldog
Age: Middle-aged
Neutered: Yes
Microchip: No
Condition: Underweight, poor body score, and very dirty

We’re calling him our unnamed beauty for now, and while he rests and recovers, we’re hoping his owners come forward—or that someone recognizes him.

How You Can Help:
✅ Share this post – especially with anyone in the Formosa / Walkerton / Grey-Bruce area

✅ Spread the word about pet assistance resources – if someone is struggling to feed or care for their pet, there are options available. No animal should end up in this condition.

This boy didn’t get this way overnight. Please help us find out where he came from—and remind others that compassion and early intervention can change everything.

ADOPTABLE

Iola (iola)
Age: 12-Weeks
Breed: Rez Mutt
Size: Medium/Large
Weight: 20lbs

Adoption Fee: $850
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Back at the end of May, Sato Saved introduced five (5) female Six Nations pups that required placement. We took in three of the girls and named them after one of my favourite shows - Mommas Family; Thelma, Iola (iola), and Naomi (adopted and now Nellie).

Iola is the more confident sister who likes to explore her surroundings. She hasn't been the most affectionate puppy up until this point. However, during cuddle sessions, she is content. She is such a happy little girl and is your typical adventurous and curious puppy.

Here is what we know so far;

✔️ Good with kids
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with dog-savvy cats
✔️ Good with livestock (with monitoring right now)
✔️ Rural or fenced yard

Iola's ears JUST started to perk up, like her sister Thelma, which makes her look like a mini Great Dane or Corso. She's truly stunning. Photos don't do her justice.

These little girls love other dogs and would likely be okay in a single-pet home or multi-pet home. We are actively working on her crate and potty training.

Before finalizing her adoption, she will be UTD on her vaccines, and she is already spayed and on all age appropriate preventions. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

**Please note that ALL adoptions are finalized in Brantford, ON.
