**PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNTIL THEIR BIOS ARE POSTED**

These young ladies made quite a stir at the beginning of March when they were posted online in local lost and found groups that they were missing. Thankfully, they did make it home a couple of days later unharmed.

What disgruntled locals didn't realize is that there was already a plan in place to get them surrendered to Sato Saved. These dogs were no stranger to Animal Control, and knowing the family was in over their heads with them continuing to take off, they went out of their way to speak to the family about options - this was all done by a caring individual who knew and understood the dangers of them continuing to escape;

❌️ Risking being hit by cars
❌️ Being impregnated
❌️ Being killed or injured by wildlife

As the broken record continues, Sato Saved will now have over 85 dogs in rescue, but we knew that these girls needed assistance as soon as possible. By agreeing to take in these young dogs, Sato Saved has committed to covering the cost and facilitating to fix the parents which is helping the family tremendously.

Fixing the parents (even just the mom) is a non-negotiable part of helping with litters of puppies, no matter their age as it's imperative that we stop the cycle!

Right now, we do not know much about the Golden Girls. They are beautiful, loving, energetic, lack basic obedience and are quite rude, and lack confidence. But, with some structure, routine, and more socialization, we are very confident they will grow up to be very well-rounded girls. In April, we will be looking for foster-to-adopt homes for the girls (separately), so stay tuned as we post their bios as we continue to learn more about each of them!

ADOPTABLE

Patrick
Age: 4-Years
Breed: Shepherd x Corgi
Size: Small
Weight: 15 lbs

Adoption Fee: $850

We briefly introduced you this little guy a week ago from JSS Animal Control for Aran-Elderslie - he had been found loose, and remained with Animal Control for his legal stray hold (and longer) hoping an owner would come forward.

Unfortunately, this didn't happen, and knowing next to nothing about this unique little boy, Sato Saved agreed to take him in.

Admittedly, the first while didn't go well with Patrick. He was incredibly stressed, barky, and anxious. For all new fosters, we begin working on crate training immediately, and this just wasn't feasible for him. Being a slightly older dog, he was not acclimating to this new routine.

So, we broke our foster protocols and started working with him being free in our home, and what a difference this made - he completely flipped a switch, and has proven that he is most satisfied with his people.

Here is what we know so far;

✔️ Good with kids
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with dog-savvy cats
✔️ Good with livestock
✔️ Rural or fenced yard
❌️ No crates

Patrick is a unique looking dog and has a very crocked tail that adds even more character. He prances around with immense confidence. He loves car rides, he likes to cuddle, he likes to protect his home, and he is very smart!

We have noticed that he has had the occasional accident in the home, which is the one downside, but with a new environment, and lots of change recently we are hoping to curb this behaviour.

Before finalizing his adoption, he will be UTD on his vaccines, and he is already neutered. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

We have had the privilege of friends, family, and community members supporting us with our work not only with the foster home but with the farm sanctuary side of things as well.

This post is to pay a pretty big shout out to our volunteer Rhonda, who has been helping us for just over a year, with various roles;

✔️ Animal care & supervision
✔️ Feeding & watering
✔️ Walking dogs
✔️ Facilitating donations
✔️ Helping with events

Rhonda works at Foodland and was helping to facilitate produce donations from 'waste' materials. Up until recently, it was a box here and there when they were available, but now, with additional thanks to the Produce Manager, we have been able to receive MORE food for more of the animals who LOVE the additional treats.

We are so grateful for any additional support, and we cherish these relationships. Thank you, Rhonda & Tanya! 💛

ADOPTABLE

Mac
Age: 7-Months
Breed: Akita x
Size: Medium
Weight: 45 lbs

Adoption Fee: $850
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Mac and his two siblings came to Sato Saved after they were found near a roadway in Brantford - one of the siblings was tragically hit and killed by a car. They were taken to Hillside Animal Control and pulled quickly to the rescue.

You may remember Hudson, the little Akita x pup we fostered a little while ago and how amazing he was - well, this is his brother Mac, who is equally as great!

All three siblings are so unique with their colouring - Mac showcases a beautiful fluffy, soft, brindle coat. Just like Hudson, Mac is the epitome of happy, with a zest for life. Not long after Mac came into rescue, he required life-saving surgery when he had a blockage in his intestines, but you'd never know anything was ever wrong.

Mac loves the company of other dogs, loves his people, and bonds quickly. He is stubborn at times, but there is no malicious intent it's strictly play related.

Here is what we know so far;

✔️ Good with kids
✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with dog-savvy cats
✔️ Good with livestock
✔️ Rural or fenced yard
✔️ Akita experience preferred

He is growing up around livestock and does need reminders not to chase the chickens, so proper introductions and supervision if going to be around livestock is ideal.

Before finalizing his adoption, he will be UTD on his vaccines, and he is already neutered. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

Yesterday... what a day.
I won't lie, I am incredibly grumpy and tired today. Lol...

We did a spay/neuter run that had some hiccups along the way, but, it had me on the road from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm, with stops to facilitate picking up not one but two dogs from Animal Control.

🎀 Patricia (Patty)
A found dog in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. This little girl had definitely seen better days when she was found in deplorable condition. She was taken in by Animal Control, cleaned up, and completed her legal stray hold.

We suspect Patty to be between 2.5-4 years old, and she will be heading down to Brantford tomorrow so she can begin her vetting journey, decompress further, and eventually will be put up for adoption.

🍀 Patrick
A found dog in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie. This little guy was found and has had no leads on his home, so he was looking for rescue placement.

We initially just went for Patty, but upon meeting Patrick, we couldn't leave him behind. He is a unique looking dog with a very crocked tail. Shepherd x Corgi x Jack Russell? Who knows!

Patrick, we don't have an exact age on him, but it looks to be around 3-5 years old. He has some vetting to complete, and then he, too, will be looking for his forever home.

Stay tuned for their official bio posts in the upcoming weeks!

ADOPTABLE

Ripley
Age: 8-Weeks
Breed: Shepherd x
Size: Large
Weight: 10 lbs

Adoption Fee: $850
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Their mom was a known 'stray' dog who had multiple litters in her lifetime. Thankfully, this time around she ended up on a property that was able to secure her and get her into Sato Saved to have her puppies safely, and most importantly STOP the cycle and have her fully vetted.

She was a VERY large girl and was expected to give birth not long after being in rescue. She didn't disappoint... this poor momma had FOURTEEN (14) puppies...

Original Post; https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1QuyBpn4ch/

We haven't known Ripley and his sister Sadie long, but boy, are they precious. Incredibly curious, loveable, and spunky! Ripley has a subtle confidence about him. He seems to like to explore his settings more than his sister and loves a good bone.

Due to his age, Ripley is now looking for a foster-to-adopt home!

What does that mean?
Ripley is not old enough to complete all of the necessary vetting; he would go to his new home as a foster until he can complete the regiment of vaccinations and neuter.

Vetting appointments are typically done in Kitchener, and the foster-to-adopt family / individual would need to be able to take her to scheduled appointments. Once the vetting is completed, then the adoption can be finalized.

If you are interested in a foster-to-adopt, an adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;

MA! Let me in the house!! 📣

Dolly has such a curious spirit about her, and you can ALWAYS catch her standing by a door or window looking to come into the house.

In this particular instance, I was filling up the water buckets and troughs with the 100 ft. hose I have stashed in our kitchen. 😅

Friends having dinner together 🍽

I just want to apologize to our neighbours, as everytime I go outside and Ethel hears me in the driveshed or tinkering with things she believes it's 'dinner time', and that essentially is our word for grain.

The cows don't get grain every day, so Ethel primarily gets frustrated and feisty, lol. So if you happen to hear her bellowing, it's her having the equivalent to a child's temper tantrum. All of the cows join in from time to time, but she is the main instigator.

LIME
Age: 1-Year
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Size: Small
Weight: 8 lbs

Adoption Fee: $300 (Single)
Adoption Fee: $400 (Pair)

Back in mid-July we were contacted by a local girl to inform us that her family was moving and they couldn't take their cats, claimed that they had called everyone and no one would help (I don't believe this story), but, nonetheless, that they were leaving that night by 5:00 pm and a mom and her kitten were being left behind.

I want to say that we DO NOT work with cats, we will help with advice, transport and even trying to help find rescue placement, but with everything else we have on the go and limited space, keeping cats isn't feasible and the funds just aren't there (as we explained with Autumn from the fall).

Despite this, my dear friend went and picked up the mom (Lime) and her 2-week-old baby (Lemon) and brought them here. Since July they have been residing in our upstairs bathroom away from our personal cats; we have been waiting to get them fixed thank you to Sato Saved Dog Rescue who is graciously allowing us to place them for adoption through the rescue.

Yesterday, both girls were fixed, and we are now posting them in hopes of finding their forever homes either separately or as a pair. We would prefer together, as they are both nervous girls, and like eachothers company, but understand that adopting two cats together isn't always the easiest feat.

Highlights;

✔️ Nervous but has a sweet side
✔️ Affectionate on her terms
✔️ Good in a crate
✔️ Using the litter box with no issues
✔️ Likes to be pet
✔️ Have not been exposed to dogs or other cats

Lime has been dewormed, had flea/tick treatments, vaccinated; FVRCP and Rabies, and is now spayed. If you are interested in adopting Lime (or Lemon together), please DM us.

**ADOPTED**

Dawson
Age: 11-Months
Breed: Pyrenees x Maremma
Size: Large
Weight: 90 lbs

Adoption Fee: $650
*Post Adoption Training is Mandatory*

Back in April 2024, Sato Saved welcomed four (4) 14-week-old puppies who had been severely neglected, underweight, and undersocialized. They had been taken in by a kind farmer, but they were quick to realize that the puppies needed much more than they could provide.

Dawson is now one of two left at Sato Saved, waiting for his forever home.

He came here to Flesherton Farmhouse to continue with his socialization and to work on his timidness. Dawson has come a long way since arriving here; he is a big loof and definitely has some quirkiness about him.

Dawson is still very unsure of some things and is flighty when being touched around his neck, but there is absolutely no malice or true flight risk per-say. You tell him to sit, and he will - you just need to take your time.

Dawson has been exposed to livestock and has done well. He has been around chickens but needs reminding that he can't play with them.

We have recently just started working on his off leash skills, and he does well, has shown no tendencies to leave the property but his actual recall needs work. He knows where the door is to come in and it takes a few calls to get him inside.

Highlights;

✔️ Good with dogs
✔️ Good with dog-savvy cats
✔️ Rural or fenced yard
✔️ Good with livestock
✔️ Good with kids

Dawson is a character in the best way and is super sweet once he warms up/trusts you. I think whomever adopts him will really have a really great dog once he overcomes his insecurities.

Dawson has shown no destructive behaviours and does really really well in his crate. Outside of his crate, he is usually sprawled out underneath the desk chair or by your feet somewhere.

Dawson will be UTD on his vaccinations, microchipped, and is neutered. An adoption application needs to be sent directly to Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue and Rehabilitation via email at [email protected], and the document can be found here;
