Learning to calmly take turns and practicing impulse control
That puppy energy 😍
Tallulah is doing fantastic! The next step is teaching her to go to her own bowl. .LOL
Lucy has always been lovely - and although not thrilled to have a puppy around has been very tolerant ♡
# Maintaining harmony with 3.
Today we went exploring the world with Tallulah. I let her walk for a bit, then rest for a bit by riding in the stroller. This way we can enjoy longer walks and experience longer. On the way back she walked over this bridge taking in the sounds of rushing water and squawking birds above, she's a quiet inquisitive and thoughtful girl. A thinker.
Agility, a bath then bully sticks. A perfect Friday night.
There were no growls or complaints when Tallulah checked to see if the others had a better bully that she might want :)
Initially I gave her a smaller one, but when she noticed Lucy and Tuko receiving a brand new full sized one, she droped hers and barked while focusing on the bully stash - seemingly demanding equal rewards. LOL
LOVE my pack.
# 2 staffy sport mixes and a Doodle.
She is learning ♡
2 Terrier sport mixes (one at 15 weeks) and a Doodle
Im so very grateful for Hydropaws in Maple Ridge. My pack truly loves their swimming night.
This was Tallulah's second swim. She primarily played at the waters edge, but thoroughly enjoyed herself with happy paws and curiosity. Being young, We give her a quick turn then towel her off so she can stay warm.
Im a fan of cooperative care, where we gain permission and comfort while grooming. Today I introduced the dremel to the girls. My older dogs come running when they hear the sound of the dremel, knowing it's nail grooming time. I'm very happy with today's session. Keeping it short and positive. ♡
I'm getting better at walking 3. Tallulah adores her Uncle - At this point their body styles look similar, but I think she is going to grow up with a slighter BC body whereas he is very whippety.
A few cars passed us on this road today and she sat when I requested a sit, she watched them go by and shook it off quickly. D&C (desensitization and counterconditioning) is working ♡
Tallulah's 1st swim. I carried her and let her swim back 3 times but only for short distances, dried her off and left it at that. Although she never elected to follow us in, she kept coming down the ramp to the water and remained very playfull for the entire half hour. ♡
And although it has been 3 weeks since our last swim Tuko was happy to jump off the high dock! We love our Wednesday night family date nights. All 5 of us leave with happy and healthy hearts.
Today we introduced Tallulah to the beach. I missed recording it, but at first she ran right in neck deep, then immediately ran out.
This clip was right afterwards.
She is so joyful, fun and funny. On the way home she was annoyed with the blankets in her crate and grumbled and growled at them until she got them just so. Kevin and I couldn't help but giggle - she is such a joy!
She stood her ground in the pack and Tuko respected her no ♡ Notice the stillness 1st just before her clearer warning. I love that she is unphased by his pressure - building confidence, and her warning was fair.
Giving them space (with supervision) to learn
