Lucy is nearly 9 and she still LOVES this game. She still barks with excitement as we pull into class, and is impatient while waiting for her turn ♡. Im so greateful for her role in introducing me to this sport, she's always been such an increadible joy to run with and has taught me so much. ♡ 's never too late - do what you love.

Can you believe our sweet Lizzy has been in the shelter for over 1 YEAR!

373 days to be exact. While that’s not cause to celebrate, we did throw Miss Lizzy a ‘Pitty Party’ to mark the occasion. She had a wonderful day out and a special visit to the groomers. She’s all clean and fancied up in hopes that her stunning white coat and lovely smile will catch the right person’s eye.

Lizzy is a smart cookie who loves to play on our agility equipment. She’s a quick learner and will do just about anything for a cookie. She leaaaaans right in for pets and will almost flop over in your lap for love. She would thrive in a home that has no other animals. She’s been around livestock with no issue but isn’t a fan of other dogs or cats. She would be an amazing hiking companion and cuddle buddy for that special someone that takes her home.

Lizzy,
Spayed Female, German Shepherd, Approx 2 Years Old

Baby dog Tuko is coming along

Tuko measures 16" for AAC and 20" for UKI. I've been preparing him for 20" jumps for a while, last night we put it to the test and during a workshop last night through multiple short sequnces, he didn't drop 1 bar. ♡

The absolute best part of teaching is watching your students succeed. Yuri and Archie only recently started trialing but they've caught the bug and they travelled to Zanee in Auburn WA this weekend for a trial. Yuri messaged me and shared that they took 1st place in Speedstakes. I'm so proud of this team, and love their enthusiasm and joy for this sport.

Average leaders raise the bar on themselves. Good leaders raise the bar for others. Great leaders inspire others to raise their own bar. Orrin Woodard.

Cheers to you Yuri and Archie for jumping in with all your paws and feet and giving it your best. You've certainly raised your bar ♡

2024 BC Yukon and VI Regional championships held in Salmon Arm - WOW, I could live there, its stunning! Lucy placed in 4/6 of her runs earning a spot on the podium and qualifying for Nationals. These are are long days, and even at 8+ years old, she runs each and every course with sass and enthusiasm - she is such a joy! I feel so incredibly fortunate to be able to play this sport with my dogs. The weather.... well, It was sunny mixed with torrential downpours - one minute we were hot, the next looking for rain coats and heated vests - but we enjoyed every moment.
Until next year.

Thank you Spitfire Dog Sports for hosting a fun filled trial. With two rings running like clockwork all weekend - there was not a dull moment. Thank you to our judge Joe Boudreau for the fun and challenging courses with a perfect mix of fast and flowy combined with ample opportunities to push our skills. A big thanks to Sherry Taylor for judging, every time I looked at you, you were smiling and It makes a huge difference to have your positive energy in the ring ♡. Cheers to the Spitfire girls, you are a mighty cohesive team. Lastly I'm forever grateful for my dogs. Lucy ran with all of her heart and Tuko got a taste of a BIG environment - both did really well. I feel so fortunate to have this sport in my life, as it's through this sport that I have met and come to know countless amazing people. Lucy missed the pentathlon Bye by only 1.33 seconds due to a refusal (so close!) Which dropped us to 2nd. She continues to give me everything she's got and she is always a pure joy to run with. Although we didn't win the Pentathlon, she earned a 1st place agility Q which completed the requirements that we need for our Canadian Rd 2 Bye. She also earned a 1st place Q in a very hard gamble and a second place Q in snooker. I'm so looking forward to our 1st Canadian Open this year being held in Chilliwack!
