Several new additions around here. Includes Hambone the gigantic pig 🐷. The horses have been raised around him, so they are in fact “pig broke” 😆
The mare pen sparkling ✨ in the sunshine 🥰
This is really fun to share. My brother Matt is an absolute master with a rope in his hand and an excellent horseman. Life happens, so he hasn’t roped a lot in the past few years. But he has been able to get back to roping recently and things are looking fantastic. His mount is PJ Root Beers Rocket, and it looks like “Rocket” is settling in very well. Matt roped 10/12 to be the 2023 Spy Hill Champion heeler on the weekend.
Rocket is a maternal brother to our young mares
PJ Pearlisasnazzychic aka Pearl and PJ Lil Bit Renegade aka Lil Bit and our great gelding PJ Easy Wrangler “Easy” Their mother was JDS Snazzy Cash aka Renegade by Givemalickin.
Renegade was my barrel horse for several years with some rodeo and 1D winnings. Renegade gave us several nice colts before she left us last Fall. She was a gorgeous mare, packed with speed, ability and intelligence. She was a force to be reckoned with.
Rocket is by the infamous Root Beers Boots from Sandy Ridge Stallion Station.
We really look forward to watching this team continue on down the roping trail 💙
When you just really want your post ride snack,
and you are doing your best to use your “cute, I am a good boy face” to get them. Will 💞🥰 #snacksarelife
SBRA Finals 2022 for dad and Easy went really well. They made 3 smooth runs together.
Easy has spent his summer working hard in the pastures, feedlot, branding pen and even a light start on the heading side.
He’s a big strong guy and a huge motor. Dad has really liked this horse right from the start. I know why 😉. We look forward to continuing to develop him and see where he goes.
Easy is by Crimson Jess and out of JDS Snazzy Cash aka Renegade.
Savannah and Nixon made their first trip ever at a jackpot. Nixon is on loan to us and he was such a gem 💎 for her last night. This made her and me both so happy. Enjoyed it 🦄💞
Lace.. love my girl so much. We have been having health challenges with her the last little bit. But I think we may have it figured out 🤞🏻🤞🏻.
We braved the rain to get a jackpot in. Really pleased with how the horses worked- they both finished mid 1D last night. We have been working on some things on the pattern and Dandy had a nice run. He’s so strong and smooth. He may be 17 this year, but he does NOT feel like it 🦄💞
Little play time after the rain ☔️💞
Dandy and I made our second run in 12 years today- not a typo. lol.
He was my first futurity horse. My dad and I both had put alot of time into him over the years. He had been sold, but found his way back to us. Dandy has always been very special to us.
Anyway…. He’s strong 💪🏻 and fast. Reminds me so much of his mother. The type that could really blow your hair back on the backside of a turn. Which means I need to really get my act together.
Today I felt like I was still in the alley, when he was turning the first. Nonetheless with some mismatched timing on my part - it was still a tonne of fun. Looking forward to more that’s for sure 🙌🏻🙌🏻💞
Lace and I made our second run back after a year and a half of her being off. I have never ridden a horse who LOVES to run barrels as much as she does. She’s has heart and try for daaayss. So much fun to ride 🧨🙌🏻
*Lace shares a mother with our stallion Will.
Famous Lil Millie “Millie” doing a great job in the tie stall for her first time. This filly is so smart and easy to handle. She is for sale 😀
Our Silver Horse Care Nebulizer has been a huge portion of Lace being able to run again. I had tried several treatments to get her lungs to heal, and not a one of them worked. My vet finally said to me “stop wasting your money and buy a nebulizer”. She did have a year long rest, but it was apparent that the lung issue was still there. So when I brought her back this spring I knew I had to invest. The improvements has been absolutely amazing for her and appears to really enjoys the treatments 💖
Our current weather is a snow swirling hurricane. Will, he was talking to me, but he wasn’t too sure he wanted to come out from behind his wind break, and over to the barn. Stay warm today ❄️ 🌪
