Hi everyone,

I have been really bad at updating this page! Mostly because we have been so busy.

This post is going to be just an update

The online groundwork course is working out to be a great tool for so many people about connecting with their horse. This is more than just your ordinary groundwork lessons... this is about how to understand and master the correct connection through assessing both yourself and your horse.

Piper's Journey - this horse has her own FB page! Our journey together started with a misunderstood, hard to handle and ride, beautiful mare that had been kept in a large garage for 3 years (and not taken out). The story for us ended less than a year later with her being sold in foal after competing flawlessly at her first jumper show. She stole my heart but we can't keep them all. She was a keeper though!

The foals - we have the two 2021 foals and our 2020 foal who are all going through their age appropriate stages of training. All three have been described as "the best foals I have ever handled".

The jumpers - I consider myself extremely lucky to have bred and trained two incredible horses in our stallion Bon Baloubet and his half sibling, Bon Espirit.

Balou is coming back from a ligament injury inJuly last year and started back to full work Nov 1.

Pippy is coming back from having her first foal in June last year.

Both of these amazing horses are in full training to
compete in the 2022 season with a goal to competing in Florida winter 2023

The horses with fears that need help - apparently this is my forte and I have been blessed with the trust of horse owners allowing me to help their horses work through their fears so they can go back home better prepared for life. I finally had one dump me a few weeks ago but she has turned out to be an angel!

Clinics - I have added a new clinic subject that has turned out to be both educational and lots of fun! The clinic is called "The Things We all Do Wrong". It's a blast has has had great reviews.

I have limited dates available for either the groundwork or the new clinic. Contact me to book

Balou was never asked to do this before now. Good groundwork, proper training, and a connection with your horse means 1st time looks like this

Jazz has only been in a trailer once and she was loaded in way that isn’t one I would have used. I think she was a bit traumatized by it so I wanted to give her a good experience on her first trailer training session. It took 26 minutes for her to decide for herself it was ok. I had a cup of coffee, my phone and sat in the trailer. We just hung out. After about 15 minutes I applied small amounts of pressure asking her to try it out. She tried a couple of avoidance things but quickly figured out she wasn’t going anywhere and it still wasn’t scary. Finally she said ‘ok’. Bless her. Three times in and out in the end

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?!!!! Super excited this is really happening. After a lot of work I am launching Talking To Horses first of many online courses. YES AN ONLINE COURSE!!!!! It's almost ready and will be launched February 28th. This first course (there are many more to follow) is a 6 week horsemanship course that breaks everything down from the very basics, starting with herd mentality and a brief history of horsemanship. The course covers the things that don't get discussed during rider levels. Things every equestrian should know. This first course is suitable for all equestrian levels and includes my biggest secret of pre-training. This is something I've not heard any one else use, and something I was never taught. The course then covers basic groundwork exercises with theory, slideshows, videos, and an opportunity to join a private Facebook course support group. I already have some pre-launch purchases so contact me if you want to pre-purchase your course (there will be a $100 discount for everyone who purchases between now and Feb 28th)

Liberty work with Balou this morning. It’s the first time I have worked at liberty like this with him. He was amazing. The strong ground work training paid off. He seems to really enjoy it. I missed videoing him almost lying down for me - that’s our next thing. We only started working at that last week if it looks like I’m touching him in any of the photos I’m not (except the one where he wanted me to scratch his back leg lol!). I just move my hand and he moves. I could load the full video but figured it would be boring. He did everything I asked of him for 7 minutes. We even started some Piaffe work before we did the liberty stuff. Love my Balou! POST UPDATE: People are asking to see the video. If you want to see it I can message it to you. Just PM me or comment here and I will send it 🙂

Shame I don’t have this side on as he is right down and bowing. I started teaching him to now last week - he’s been doing it for me all week this week. Next stage is to take it to the lying down in the arena. We do this as an after ride stretch at the moment.

Here is some spooky tools training with Jazz and Angie. Just a clarification on saying "This is what I wanted her to do" What I mean is that it was ok when she decided to act up so we could really show the difference in her acceptance afterwards

Jazz is modelling how to do up a rope halter for training. She was pretty good seeing the ice has kept her in for a couple of days! Check out where I am doing the halter knot. Make sure you understand a rope halter should have the knot done up around the loop not on over the top of the loop. Study the video to see what I mean 🙂

Here is the promised video for learning to ground tie. OR NOT lol. Lighting needs to be better for next time. Volume was good but I turned it down here. The video was 10 minutes long but here’s a few seconds to show you what the problem was 🙄😂

Ground-tying is when a horse stands in the place you ask him to stand without being tied to anything and he doesn’t move away.
