Happy 9th Birthday to this incredible lady!! 💞Arwen is such an amazing dog and has so many people who adore her. She is so much fun to train since she picks up on everything almost instantly. If I’m teaching Strider a new behaviour she will literally be doing it in the background 😂 Happy Birthday Arwen 💕💕

Trainers who never send their clients to the vet are irresponsible and doing the dog a huge disservice. Pain and discomfort are linked to behavioural problems—this is a fact. I would also be grumpy/on edge/anxious if I was constantly itchy, had chronic digestion issues, joint/muscle pain, etc. Vet first then training!!

👏👏👏 Excellent breakdown of terrible training advice from an “expert”. Turns out leaving your dog in their crate while they are screaming is not proper crate training. Who knew.

Outdated Training Advice That Refuses to Die #7812748

Petting a dog while they are eating, placing your hand in the bowl, or taking away their bowl/chew/toy will NOT prevent resource guarding. It will highly sensitize your dog to your presence around resources, and cause them to feel the need to act defensively. Also it’s just annoying.

Instead we want to teach our dogs that good things happen when we approach (like tossing them a treat while they are eating their meal).
