So I am officially on holidays. No dogs other than Toes for almost 2 weeks.
I will miss all my pups for sure while I'm away, but excited to leave on our adventure tomorrow

Some say the dog days of summer, but not at Sit Stay Play Brant. My summer is usually busy with cat visits and I got to see all these purrfectly wonderful kitties this past week and then some.

Toes is one that is very afraid of fireworks.
A huge one if you do have a runner make sure you have them microchipped and leave tags on during peak firework season.

Canada Day is coming. Here are some helpful tips if you have dogs who are reactive.

1)Try to plan around common fireworks times – roughly dusk until later into the night – by taking your dog out for bathroom breaks and play time before fireworks are expected
2) Ensure that your dog is wearing a collar with identification, and that any microchip information is up to date, and keep them leashed when outdoors
3) Let any visitors know that your dog may be upset and to be careful when entering or exiting your home (in case you have an escape artist), and that your dog may want alone time or be extra sensitive
4) Consider a distraction toy like a frozen kong, treat ball, or puzzle to keep your pup occupied
5) Talk to your veterinarian about medications or alternative treatment options like a thunder shirt
6) Create a comfort zone for your dog in their preferred spot with bedding (washable, just in case), a favourite toy, and let them tell you what they need (cuddles, alone time, etc.)

There has been a lot of discussion over this new border crossing release and I just spoke with the CDC personally to confirm as I will be traveling right during that time.
This new legislation is Canada wide and will affect all border crossings and ports of entry with your dog/pet. You also need to confirm with the USDA as to any other items you may need for your crossing.

After months of hard work from dad, myself, Gambler and friends, June 1st 2009 Sit Stay Play opened its doors.
For 5 years my life literally went to the dogs lol
For the next 5 I still did the odd pet sitting gig and Toes kept me busy.
In 2017 I met Hank, my first dog walking client, he was much smaller back then ☺️ In 2022 I made the decision to go full time with in home pet care and couldn't be more happy with that choice.
I have met many great animals and clients and made dear friends over the years and I hope to do it as long as I can.
