As many of you know, I am going into my second year of the Veterinary Technology program at Northwestern Polytechnic and a new school year is about to start. I will do the same thing I did last year and post any available weekends I have until the snow flies. This is the last week that I am available during the day! Today we are having a thunderstorm day which was not great for riding but perfect for me to finish this lead rope order for Got Your 6 Equine Assisted Learning!

The umbrella seems to be a fan favorite around here! It is fantastic for those mid day lessons when they have to stand tied in the heat!

Good afternoon everybody! Lesson season is finally here!! Be sure to message me and get something booked 😊 The first available day will be May 16th. I look forward to seeing everyone again!
A couple FYI's to start off the season:
1. If it's raining or if the smoke is too bad this summer, I will reschedule lessons. I don't like working in it, the horses don't like working in it! And our place gets muddy quick in the rain. I will contact anyone who is affected by cancellations as early as possible.
2. Don't forget that these lessons are outside so bring any sunscreen, water, snacks, jackets, etc that you may need during your lesson time.
3. If you need to reschedule for any reason, that's totally understandable, but PLEASE contact me ahead of time and let me know so I'm not waiting around for you to show up! If this is an issue this summer, I will be implementing cancellation fees.
4. Anyone under 18 years old does need to wear a helmet for lessons with me. I do have a couple but it's best if you bring your own that is properly fitted.
5. If you are e-transfering as payment, please do so ahead of time for your lesson so that we don't have to awkwardly wait around at the end for it to send! I do happily take cash as well!

Nothing feels better than a freshly groomed round pen and a new training horse! 😊❤️
A rope shipment has arrived!! School is absolute chaos for me at the moment so if you're interested in ordering any halters/neck ropes/mecates from me, just know that I won't be making them until the end of April/ beginning of May. I have negative amounts of free time currently!
Until Major comes home from his winter home, Captain is officially our biggest horse! He has gotten taller and really filled out over this year. He is the biggest sweetheart with a big goofy personality and he will have a home with us forever 💕
It's never too early for your baby moose to work on ground tying! 😂
We also learned that Jammers and Rain may both need to lose some 'baby fat' before lessons start. Let's just say, I got an arm workout getting the girth done up!
Romal and Captain were enjoying the weekend weather and getting some allogrooming in! I think they are excited for lesson season too!

Is anyone else itching to get into their arena and work their horses? Because I am! It's a soupy mud pit but something about the sunshine and the +10 has been getting me really excited to start working horses. I don't know if they feel the same about ending their winter vacation though.
The weather is warming up and with that, some of the undesirable little critters are coming out too. Be sure to check your ponies for lice and ticks this year!! Especially your young ones and seniors

I'm getting so excited seeing all of the rodeo queen applications opening up for the season! It's got me reminiscing ❤️
I also wanted to mention that if you or anyone you know is running for a title this year and would like help with your application, horsemanship, or any other component of the competition, let me know and we can work something out! I will be offering lessons again full time come May so I can definitely work with crazy schedules either on my horses or I can travel to you within reason, or you can haul out to my place once the weather clears up!

I know it's only February but May is closer than you think! I plan to start lessons on May 15th (weather permitting)

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you're having a great holiday spending time with your family and friends. I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of my clients this summer! I really enjoyed teaching you and am really looking forward to Summer 2024 lessons!
Alright everyone, I have decided that the training group is a go! Same as last time, I will create a group through this page and give everyone that wants to time to join.
Just like last time, I will post a challenge every 2 weeks on Sunday morning. This ensures that everyone has 2 weekends to play with!
I will do a riding/broke horse challenge along with an unbroke/colt challenge. Both can include tricks, general horsemanship things, useful skills for vet/farrier visits, etc!
Keep your eyes open for the group that I will create later today ☺️

Makayla and Jammers were practicing their leg yields today. They are doing so well! Still some 'leaky' hips but overall, improving every ride! Good job Makayla!!
Captain and Lucy are figuring out their new toy. Do your horses have toys? If so, what do you have for them? Our horses will play with just about anything from lead ropes to chunks of firewood!! They even roll the salt block around if there's nothing else!
So... Does anyone elses cat and horse sleep together? Or is mine broken!?
Happy Canada Day everyone!! Since it has been WAAYY too hot to ride lately, here is a video from one of the first years I had Rain, back in 2017. We were practicing for a rodeo. Packing flags used to be something we did a lot! Has your horse ever packed a flag? And if so, have you ever had the chance to fly the flag during our national anthem? We have and we think it’s the best way to listen to it!😊
