As many of you have become aware, this year there has been an unprecedented amount of horses with EEE in the Ottawa Valley. It is about 90 % fatal. We usually only see a large amount of cases about every 8 years however 2023 was also a high year for cases! Previously it was 2014. Since our climate is warming we are concerned this could become a trend. In areas where EEE is common, and since the young horses seem to be inflicted more often, there is a general recommendation for horses under 3 or 4 to be vaccinated twice a year for EEE. If you would like this added protection for your young horse, please give us a call. 613-432-8884

This exciting new program will take care of all vaccine and appointment reminders for your fur baby. ATTENTION DOG OWNERS!

Many of you may have heard but on August 1st 2024, the rules surrounding travel to the USA have been changed. All dogs entering the United States must:

- Be over 6 months of age
- Have an microchip
- Have a rabies vaccination administered after their microchip was administered

We recommend travelers have health forms filled out by their veterinarian 30 days prior to traveling. These forms must be taken to a CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) veterinarian to be stamped.

Appointments must be made with the CFIA. They can be reached at 613-773-8616.
