BC SPCA surplus reaches over $100 million! Why aren't the donations used for the care of animals instead of filling their funding reserves?

Well, something very interesting has come out in a BC Supreme court today. The BC SPCA can seize an animal from its guardian and kill the animal to avoid a review or appeal of their actions under the Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals Act. The Supreme Court ruled that a review would be "moot". This is how donations to the BC SPCA are spent instead of for the care of animals. One more lack of transparency and accountability fight won by the BC SPCA against BC's animal guardians.

Hi everyone,

ADAV Society/STOP UBC Animal Research, Toronto Anti-Vivisection Alliance - TAVA, and animals in laboratories across Canada need your help.

We need 500 signatures to get the following petition to be tabled in parliament to end the entrenched requirement for the testing of new drugs on animals in favour of sophisticated, human-relevant, and reliable evidence methods.

Thank you in advance for your support! 🙏

Fauna Foundation is very near and dear to us. One of our founders has supported the sanctuary on numerous occasions, even sending a DVD player to the chimps one year. But more importantly, as its website states, "Fauna Foundation is a chimpanzee sanctuary and place of refuge for animals who have come to us from the wild, from private homes, and from the medical research, agriculture and entertainment industries. We are currently home to chimpanzees, a monkey and a flock of domestic geese. Fauna provides permanent, lifetime protection for these incredible individuals."

This poor woman had her little Yorkshire terrier for 8 years and the BC SPCA misread the dog's ID and sold the beloved pet to someone else. The woman lost her attempt to get her little one back at the BC FIRB tribunal appeal.

A farmer in northern B.C. says she's devastated after losing her legal battle to get her dog back, nearly two years after it was adopted into a new home 800 kilometres away.

The BC SPCA is facing a big lawsuit in the BC Supreme court alleging ongoing misapplication of the Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals Act and corruption.
Stay tuned.

The BC NDP is pushing for legislative changes without being transparent about how the changes will affect BC Animal Breeders and who will regulate their industries. We suspect that Agricultural Minister Pam Alexis is working behind the scenes with the BC SPCA to make it harder for the breeders in BC.

The problem arises that only selective breeding of animals will occur and those who are not in that elite category will face continual harassment, fines and animal seizures.

The BC SPGA do not support animal breeding mills. We believe that animals have the right to reproduce in loving, caring environments where they can nourish and care for their offspring naturally.

Stay tuned.

The BC NDP government doesn't help BC animal guardians and instead put the struggling BC public's money into rich animal charities like the BC SPCA who have a surplus of over $86 million according to Charity Intelligence Canada and seize innocent animals that are wanted by their loved ones and either kill them or resell them for profit (or make them pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to get the animals back with Care Agreements that have provisions that the animal guardians are prohibited from talking about). What has the BC NDP done for pet friendly tenancies legislation like in ON? The BC NDP are only supportive of the rich animal charities who dump their seized animals in the rescues so they don't have to care for them and use their own financial resources. Agricultural Minister Pam Alexis ignores BC animal guardian correspondence to her Ministry only helping rich animal charities like the BC SPCA by giving them another $12 million this year from the public purse while BCers can't even find pet friendly accommodation, pay exorbitant food prices and are drowning in debt.
