our food donation program is still active! Please call Kelly at 403-504-7666 to make an appointment.
The Sylvan lake bottle depot is still excepting donations of recyclable bottles and milk cartons etc
On behalf of Serenity. Bless them for their devoted service.
Sadly, most rescues cannot intake any animals at his time.
Potential volunteers are welcome at Serenity. Call Gary at (403) 391-0905. Together we can make a difference!

Serenity is under new management so to speak. Our president has retired after many years in animal rescue. I am now the new president and I am hoping to be able to build this rescue back up and help as many cats and dogs as possible. I am unfortunately busy with work and do not have the time needed to devote to running this rescue. My other 2 colleagues are also very busy which is making things difficult to say the least. We are looking for volunteers that can assist in the day to day operations such as looking after the FB page and removing any posts that are not about animals and or other rescues in need. We also need people to take phone calls and take down any info regarding rehoming pets and any calls regarding animals requiring rescue and or being able to refer people to other rescues or animal control if needed as well letting people know we do have plenty of dog and cat food available to give to people that could use a little extra help. We require foster homes for dogs and or cats as that is how we operate when it comes to taking in animals. We could also use some idea people for fund raising and any operational ideas you think would improve how Serenity operates and we are looking at adjusting our foster and adoption forms as well as volunteer forms. If you or anybody you know would be interested in helping out on a volunteer basis, please message us or call 403-391-0905 and leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
We are always in need of donations which can be made at the Sylvan or Rimbey bottle depots or [email protected]
We no longer plan on running a charge account at any veterinary offices that we use as this gets out of control in a hurry, therefor we need to have money in the bank in order to vet any incoming animals.
Please share.

He’s purrfect!

Our hearts 💞 are happy!

We are so grateful 🫶 to our volunteers, foster homes, and adopters.

This was an important❗️weekend for our SCARS adoptables. We had multiple events, and we so hoped there would be many happy forever homes 🏠 found.

30 of our precious SCARS cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies won the lottery of their lives 🙌 and found their families 😍. Quite a few more have scheduled meet and greets to confirm they are "the one."

It took a lot of effort 👏 by a lot of people, but to know each of us has helped forever change the life of another....the effort is so worth it ❤️.

Thanks so much!

And if you want to add a little anticipation and excitement 🤩 to your week....the word is the Chase the Ace jackpot 💰 is going to be the biggest yet for SCARS. Join the fun and help some animals: https://www.scarscta.ca

This photo shows stab wounds sustained 0n May 17th by this innocent dog who lives in a fairly violent community. His 2 doggie brothers need to be neutered. Owner reached out for help . This file was referred to 4 other ccutout rescues-.2.declined - consideration they are slammed. Serenity has had few , none recent, donors or foster home volunteers - this economy is very tight! If you can donate, please do so directly at [email protected]. Thankyou so much for your consideration.

Yesterday Serenity had a small meeting to decide where we are going : VP AL is turning 90 next week, and I am 81. Neither of us csn continue. Gary McCune will take over the helm next week when he presents his credentials to the bank.
We are holding a garage sale May -3 and 27th outside my current home at 5310 50th Street, Rimbey. Purchase is by donation! Funds will be held to provide emergency vet care for Dot, should she need it. She remains our only foster dog. She needs to be the only pet! Lovely girl who can’t wrap her head around other pets. She would require wearing a basket muzzle for her own and other pets. She has her own dog run supplied by Serenity. The food shed program will continue. Announcement soon. Please call 403-505-2925 or 403-391-0905,Gary, if you have questions.

I have been discriminated against because of my age and refused surgical treatment accordingly. It is said age can overcome such things because of wisdom and treachery!
Let the games begin, right after I spend tomorrow packing and organizing for the move ahead. Last time I’m moving! Ever!
If anyone wants to help for an hour or two, I would be very grateful.

Todays experiences/observations: to the lady walking her very small dog on 47th ave in Sylvan: and please, remember to carry a plastic bad yo pick up after said dog! To the lady purposely striding with her young dog, very strong but wiry shepherd type pup. She had the leash wrapped over her shoulder to control the? pup , who was straining against her collar so hard she looked very stressed. No connection whilst walking…. Folks, during a walk or playtime, talk to snd with your dog, watch the body language and communicate !
3rd experience. Turning onto highway 20, traffic was heavier than usual. I’m cautious at the highway 12 roundabout so slowed a bit, much to the annoyance of a driver in acdusty white vw we he honked at me. No big deal! En tout to Rimbey i wines see him tailgating, passing unsafely, repeat repeat, until Hexwas forced to slowdown to turn left! He arrived in Rimbey exactly 2 car lengths ahead of me. Was it worth it to have driven unsafely and maybe jeopardizing other drivers? I was glad to get home! Grateful and thankful to be in a place not filled with anger, entitlement, and who knows what else . I’m far from perfect most days… yet I feel I really want to be safe on the road. At my age, I’d like God to decide my future! Just sayin’

Moving! Boxes and downsizing.
Dealing with difficult people …. More of a younger “man’s” game! Very excited to be moving back to Sylvan and grateful to have people who know people so I can live nicely without fear! Imagine having to deal with tenancy with a large company who raises the rent weekly. Eventually they might have empty buildings having priced themselves out of the market! There are no rental caps in our province…. Things are out of hand! I am beyond grateful not to have to be in that position.
Boxes are begging to be filled!
Gratitude for incredible, kind and helpful people!

We have been asked to see if we can rehome this handsome young gentleman. He is 1.5 years old, neutered and has all his first year shots. He has a great temperament and loves to play. He gets along great with kids, cats and other dogs. We are told he is a Husky cross. If you are interested in this young dog please message us and we would be glad to send you a foster or adoption application. The owners are moving to a smaller house and won’t have the room to keep him. No judgements please.

13/04/2023

Hoping beyond hope that we can get enough donations to purchase chain link panels to keep Dot safe.
