The k9case Training and Recreation Centre was created in the spirit of fun, with a mind for higher education and a focus on individuals. Do you want your dog to be attentive, responsive and well behaved? Does your dog have a high social drive or an abundance of energy? Come to doggie daycare! Do you have a dog that needs lots of exercise to be happy? Come and learn a sport for fun OR competition!

Do you wish you could change that one thing about your dog? Call us for Behaviour Modification! Positive methods of training build a bond between you and your dog that is based on trust and cooperation. They provide your dog with specific information about the behaviour that is desired, using good timing of feedback and consistency. By creating a safe environment that motivates dogs to learn, positivity encourages a good working relationship together based on mutual trust and respect. And that is what k9case is all about.

k9case Today

Today I am happy to be running a small number of classes, including all levels of Obedience as well as Dog Parkour. In the Summer, we are training outdoors at Brantwood Farms and in the winter, we are indoors and warm at Sandy Lane Riding Arena. I teach obedience using a variety of reward based techniques including luring, targeting, capturing and shaping.

Since transforming from the facility in 2017, there have been some changes. Instead of agility classes, I am teaching Dog Parkour. These classes are a little taste of every sport, but largely strength, balance and agility.

Teaching Obedience Classes outdoor was probably the biggest and best change. From day one, the dogs showed me how relaxed and focused they were training outside. Come winter, I was no less surprised by how happy they were working in the huge riding arena.

I would be remiss if I did not say that I missed everyone from the social groups. Monday nights were special! Socials were one of the first things that I started when coming to Brantford 14 years ago.
