This is Paisley. She's a SPIN rescue in foster care and it's the second time I've had the privilege to groom her. I clipped her short for her spay surgery coming up. There are so many beautiful dogs (inside and out) looking for forever homes. Check the shelters and rescues if you want to add a fur baby to your family.

Evie is her mom's model for doggy sweaters and dresses. This hair style will take a few grooms and growth. Going for a tight body, long legs, top knot and ears. Asian Fushion on a Biewer. Last 2 pics will give you an idea.

I've never done this before and neither has she. It's fun to learn and grow together. How cute is her crochet dress btw?!?!? 🩷💜💙

MoeJoe or MoeJoey as I like to call him. He's a SPIN alumni and was adopted before I volunteered. He gets my shout out for being an amazing volunteer himself: the best foster bro.

I know a little bit of his back story, where he was a mill dog in rough shape, got adopted by a wonderful man and now lives the best dog's life. With rescues it takes time for them to build trust, confidence and familiarity with new people and environments. I've had the privilege of grooming MoeJoe for almost a year now. He still is nervous and doesn't make eye contact with me, BUT I see his confidence and trust growing every time we have our spa dates. Baby steps with some of these guys.

Last weekend it warmed my heart. I was with a group of SPIN people and poodles for a field playdate. MoeJoey, came over and nuzzled his face into me at one point. He recognized who I was and showed some love. It made my day 💙

SPIN's Chanel:
I know this one hits home for many volunteers of SPIN. Chanel was a rescued mill momma in horrible condition. I remember that John carried her for the first few days at Blackdog because she was so shut down.

This past year she has been healing, learning how to be a dog and receiving love from humans. You can read her update in my pictures. She is currently available for adoption.

SPIN's Reggie: Reggie was the first rescue dog I ever interacted with. I'm not sure how much he liked me because I gave him and bath and he was terrified of the dryer.

Another beauty story. In one full year Feb 2024- Feb 2025, he went from a surrendered mill dog (under socialized, under weight, horrible condition) to adopted, blossoming AND now a Saint John's Ambulance Therapy dog. 😍

So proud of you beautiful boy! And grateful for all the SPIN hearts that helped you along the way 💙

RYLEE 🩷 She made my day today! I've been grooming this girl for awhile now and we've been building our bond. Today she ran right up to my grooming table, put both paws on it and whined until I lowered it enough for her to jump up.

Way to go girl!!! I love seeing confidence and trust build in the timid/anxious dogs. 🥳🥳

RUBY takes up a big space in my heart ❤️.

I was at Blackdog Pet Resort when she, Annie (Angel), and Cody were dropped off. One at a time, they were on leash from the car. Terrified, flailing and diarrheaing while trying to get them inside. It was heartbreaking. I stayed in the yard while the 3 of them calmed from the transport. If you made a move or tried to get close, they darted away. I decided to sit and turn my back on them, to appear less "scary". Ruby slowly inched her way over to me and poked me with her nose. The first pic is of her from over my shoulder. You can see how matted she was and covered in f***s and urine.

John, Virginia and I shaved down and cleaned up the three. I had the chance to visit Ruby a few times before she went into foster care. Slowly she learned to trust again and is now adopted into a wonderful home.

What's even more amazing (for me) is I've had the opportunity to groom her since then. She's still timid, but is coming out of her shell. Yes I cried the first time I groomed her in my shop, thinking of where she came from to where she is now. Again, another story of such love from humans who stepped up and rescued a beautiful soul.

Patch....I call him the Perma Puppy because he's a smaller standard poodle and frankly, looks like a permanent puppy. He's SO cute 😍!!

This sweet boy came to SPIN with a lot of his fur missing due to improper care (see last two pics). Even though he was underweight and covered in sores, he still had lots of kisses upon meeting me and my children. In just a few months he went from a beautiful foster mom to a forever loving home.

There were multiple SPIN volunteer visits, medicated baths and vet care for this boy. The transformation of his health and coat is remarkable. I had the privilege of spending time with him when he was in rough shape, and recently groomed him for Christmas. Another heartwarming success story.

So happy for you Patchy Boy 💙, you landed in the best hands!

How fitting to highlight a STORM LITTER pup while we have a snow weather watch. Last year SPIN got an emergent call to rescue a litter, along with mom and dad. One of the puppies took a turn for the worst and volunteers drove through hours of the big 2024 snowstorm to retrieve all 7 dogs. The puppies landed at Furry Friends Pet Resort where they were cared for by a team of volunteers. I, along with my sidekicks (daughters), had the pleasure of spending time with these little pups. For weeks we watched them heal and grow under the care of SPIN.

Even more amazing for us, one pup was adopted locally. Through grooming appointments and playdates, this girl and her mommy have become forever friends. 💜

It's been such a joy watching Luna flourish into a healthy, big, happy girl. She went from underweight puppy to living the dream: much love, doggy daycare, training classes, walks, gourmet meals and 2 of the best poodle cousins a girl could ask for.

We love you Luna, our poodle baby!

One year ago I jumped in with SPIN and became a volunteer. It feels longer than that, from the connections I've made with dogs and humans alike. My eyes were opened to how horribley animals are treated AND how many BIG hearts are out there stepping up to save, rehabilitate and love the unloved. Here's to many more years of loving on the big Poodles 😍

For February, I will be sharing about a few SPIN SPOOs from 2024. Each one I've encountered has carved out a little space in my heart.

Today I had the pleasure of giving Boomer his second groom with me. Such a big handsome guy 💙 currently being fostered in Whitby.

Best part of my day: this sweet boy gets on my table and nuzzles his head right into my chest. I left him there and pet him for a few minutes before we got started.

Meme's second groom ever and second with me. Love growing with puppies! Her owner does a great job with her crazy doodle hair and getting her used to grooming early on. That is key. 💜 The earlier, the better!!
