When doctors fall in love with their patients... Meet Gemmy, formerly Passion (renamed for her eyes), a shelter cat from Katie's Place Animal Shelter. Katie's Place is one of those awesome shelters that sends their hyperthyroid cats to us for treatment knowing that the cats are healthier and infinitely more adoptable after curing their hyperthyroidism. Although we love, love, love all of our patients (as much as some of them will allow ;) ), we can't fall too deeply in love with them lest we become crazy cat hoarders. However, somehow Gemmy broke down that barrier in me and, with her singing, convinced me that we had room in our house for one more. Gemmy loooves my husband and here she is telling him how much. PS Its been 2.5 years since treatment and her thyroid is perfect. Yay!
