Bunny Mom Tip.. I have a lot of bunnies; most are incorrigable. Sometimes they want to fight through the xpens (especially the small trouble makers) I discovered if I hiss they all stop. Yup they stop! Now this is a technique used in dog training.

I confirm it works with rabbits too! Work on that hiss bun owners! If if causes Marie to stop it can work on any normal rabbit.

Fresh hay pickup this Wednesday. Remember to email your orders in. Also anything special. The bunny bags are cool. Lots of stretch and can hold a lot of hay.. Might be a nice switch from the Ikea holders - I always have a heck of atime stuffing those!

I want you to meet Crnac! Crnac is a truly loved bunny who gets to go for car rides, run the house and the dogs, and sit on his throne daily making bunny judgements! Crnac refused to eat hay. No matter what his mommy did he turned his nose up at hay... UNTIL... he got our hay! Crnac now eats hay.. of course served on this throne by his slave mom! If you dont believe me I will let his mom comment further. Check this little monkey out.

Are you like me, a bunny mom, that wants a hidey house for her bunnies that is durable, chewable, pretty but safe, and can be moved room from room. I discovered the Bunny Barns. They are made locally by a young couple with three bunnies of their own! These wonderful barns are loved by the bunnies. I do not know why but they take to them immediately. If you are interested message me and I will give you the contact info. The great thing is you can pick your colour choice!

Lets talk hay again! I have had a few people ask me what the difference is with Alberta timothy and western washington timothy.

So lets start with the following - it is the same grass! What changes its conditions are environmental conditions, bale size, growing conditions, and regulations. For example this last year was very dry in Alberta so the hay had a higher sugar content. Western Washington tends to be finer.

Please remember hay is growing grass and there will be dead grass in it - thats the brown stuff you see. Also we are lucky in January to still have second cut available.

Generally speaking just after spring you will start to see first cut starting and most often the summer months June to Augst. After that we are dealing with second cut. Rarely is there a third cut of timothy.

Hay comes from the fields - no one can control the brown grass available unless you are buying processed hay like that from stores. That is just not fresh hay and there is a quality difference for bunnies!

Feel free to ask any questions but remember when you are buying from us its cut hay from the field - natural - which is what most of us and certainly our bunnies should be eating!
