They were angels on the drive in ... and then this happened, ha! Justine was the wee shark she can be when she's super excited, and Josh was the older brother who's just tired of dealing with an irritating little sister! As soon as we left, angels again for the drive home! Thanks to everyone at Global Calgary for having us. Both these cheeky souls are up for adoption :) ... feel free to email on [email protected] to talk in more detail.
And she rocked it ;) Abigail was so relaxed at Global Calgary, you'd think we had exercised her for 24 hours! She was a bit agitated in the vehicle at first then settled, a touch shy meeting folks at the station but kept checking in, and remained calm and cautiously curious. What a great wee dog she is!
CJ had a full day today! Radio in the morning, then onto Global Calgary in the afternoon. He’s one tired teenager tonight 🙂 !
Yet another mom and pup in from the cold. Found by a High River RCMP officer, mom is approx. 3 years old and you can feel every bone on her spine and hips. Her pup, we assume, isn't much better. This short video was taken at the detachment, a bit of food close at hand. When I just checked on everyone before coming back to the computer, they were fast asleep on a memory foam mattress. Warm and full.
My heart feels like breaking when I think of all the others still out there.
I don't know what I was thinking bringing two pups to Global Calgary yesterday! The little male "talked" all the way to city! Just wanted to move and explore! The wee female was quiet and watchful, not quite sure what was going on! They got some great handling though, and slept all the way home!
Lydia did so well today at Global Calgary! Turns out she really is a dream in the truck, and greeted everyone she met with enthusiasm and interest. And she's apparently a couch-dog ;) .
As always, our thanks to Global Calgary for having us this week. Xavier was soooo good in the vehicle, did well at the station ... just such a good dog, and with Huskies being typically long-lived dogs, at only 8 years old, he has plenty of good ones left to give to a new home! If you're interested, please take a few minutes and send us your information through our online application! (It's on www.heavencanwait.ca under Adoption Info and scroll down.)
Doris
Doris has had her dental and spay now, and Dr Teri believes she's 12 years old, a bit older than we guessed. Her bad eye is being treated and will require a recheck in the near future. Her appetite is good, and her feisty nature is just part of who she is ... what we can tell you is a) she doesn't like other dogs b) doesn't like cats c) isn't housebroken d) has a big bark when she sees you and e) really likes to curl up on laps. Doris will be a labour of love for a potential adopter ... a puppy mill dog who has led a limited life and needs patience when she has accidents, tolerance when she barks and plenty of love and understanding.
Sass did well today on Global Calgary, greeting folks politely in the lobby, and well-behaved on-air. She snoozed all the way back and forth to city, a dream in the vehicle. She's such a good girl! Just need to find her a home now who will love her as we do!
Angie brought wee Haybale to Global Calgary on Friday so she could wreak havoc at the station! She was wired for sound by the time Angie got on-air, loved up by everyone prior and was tired of being held! Poor Joel! That kitten so wanted him! If someone is looking for a cheeky, confident youngster, Haybale could be for you! Give Angie a txt on 403-618-9899 for more info on her, as she'll be available for adoption in the next 2 weeks or so.
Elegant Milk River Reyna is the newest guest at Pet Valu Southbank location, a beautiful girl of approx. 2.5 years old. She was a transfer from another rescue, a girl who needed more time to learn humans can be kind, and to get her health where it needed to be. As always, so appreciative of everyone at the store who helps our animals settle and works with them daily to help them get adopted! Stop in and see her <3 . She's lovely.
