Louise or Lulu is one of our fave dogs! Found as a stray in High River and never claimed, it has been a true pleasure to watch her progression from scared and unsure to actually happy, with us as humans and her dog friends, too. She is truly a "soft" personality and would be a loyal and affectionate companion to the person fortunate enough to adopt her!
Wee Pierre and I made our way to Global Calgary this afternoon for his debut :) . He slept all the way (good boy!) and turned into a ball of curiousity and energy when we arrived. He did his best to charm all the staff at the station, which he did ... as cute as he is, Pierre would benefit from an experienced home because at 4 mos old, he's already pushing boundaries and boldly heading into "teenage" stage!
Madison
Madison did really well at Global Calgary, although joked with Joel afterwards that she really didn't much of anything! She was surprisingly calm and well-behaved for the segment, yet we all know she is cheeky, and active and stubborn, too. We do have some adoption interest in her, so hopefully she'll be going into trial soon!
Madison
Madison has discovered the pool! So much fun watching a young dog, especially in this heat, figure out that the water is cool!
Found on 9th St SW near Medicine Tree Manor in High River, DSH Black intact M. Has been hanging about for approx. 2 weeks, sleeping on deck and darting into the house to nosh on other cat's food. To claim, please call/text on 403-660-4744.
Also made it into Global Calgary this week with our handsome fellow Jin who's been patiently waiting for the right people to see him! There are so many really good qualities in Jin (quiet, tidy, rarely barks, good in a vehicle, just to name a few), and at 4 years old, he's maturing into that calm stage of his life. Any interest in learning more, please reach out to [email protected].
I brought Ridge with me to Global Calgary on Friday to hopefully get her noticed for the mature girl she is and what she could add to the right home <3 . She's calm in the vehicle, approx. 11 - 12 years old now, adopted many years ago but had to come back when they lost their home. She's been well-treated over the years, and now needs a retirement home ... she's good with cats, prefers to be the only dog, and believe she'd be good with children in the 12+ range. Please touch base if you think you could give Ridge the home she needs now, this late in her life.
Austin Crystal Shores and McKenna have a "thing" :) . We had Austin at Pet Valu for a while but something spooked her so we brought her back. She was so happy to see her friend McKenna :) . Austin is in the 4 year old range, a quiet, tidy and human-friendly cat who'd do best in a home of her own. And she likes young people <3 . If you'd like more info on maybe adopting her, please text Angie on 403-618-9899.
Angie brought a few of the Cataract Road Litter into Global Calgary last Friday, partly to get some adoption interest for when they're ready to go for a few weeks, but also to point out the reality of "kitten season" ... ultimately, how important Spay/Neuter simply is. For those struggling financially who want to get their cats done, please reach out and take advantage of our Spay It Forward Program! Give us an email on [email protected] to talk more about it.
Jenn from Songbird Vocal Academy in Okotoks raised $450 from her recent concert! Here is just a clip of an amazing evening! Thank you so much <3 !
Jasper is long, lanky and lean <3 . He is friendly meeting new people and dogs, legitimately likes children (cats not so much!), has some decent training behind him but has moments of very strong on leash! He's not destructive, not high-energy, travels well in the vehicle, just an all around good soul. If you're interested, send us your info through our online application (www.heavencanwait.ca under Adoption Info and scroll down!).
Angie and Jean Eden Valley did so well at Global Calgary last Friday, the first time we've brought a cat in a long time! Jean has a distinct personality! He's approx. 3 years old, despises dogs, tolerates some cats, talks, likes his humans, and although his gait will never be quite right, it's amazing he has the decent mobility he does. We're looking for an indoor only home (or cat run), ideally with no other animals and likely a more mature home as the energy of children can be overwhelming for him. For more details, feel free to text Angie on 403-618-9899.
Carly was the guest today at Global Calgary and was her friendly, calm self :) . She's an older soul who came in with infected bite wounds to her shoulder, legs and abdomen, but now that she's healed up, she's looking for a retirement home of her own! Carly is totally about the human ... affectionate, quiet, respectful in the house. She's a dream on leash, and although not a fan of getting into a vehicle, settles right away. She is not going to be for a cat-home, and she prefers to avoid other dogs and gives fair warning to stay away. She likes a soft bed, and her food (as you can tell!) and she nods off right away listening to country, ha). If you'd like to talk more about her, give Kim an email on [email protected].
The Nature's Hideaways are just the best ... a bonded pair, they could fit into just about any home and bring years of companionship and joy! They're currently at Pet Valu D'arcy location just waiting for the right people to see them. And of course being totally loved up by all the staff and customers in the meantime!
Our girls did amazing Global Calgary yesterday. From the moment we walked into the lobby, they were interested and friendly meeting everyone, and did great on-air as well. For adoption interest, please take a few minutes to send in your information through our online application at www.heavencanwait.ca under Adoption Info and scroll down.
The Nature's Hideaway's have shifted locations! Now the guests of Pet Valu D'arcy, they're quickly settling in and hopefully charming someone into believing these are the "ones" they need to adopt. This brother-sister pair are bonded, in the 8 - 9 month old range ... indoor only home for them, please, and they'd easily adjust to a cat-friendly dog and likely children in the 6+ range. If you're interested in more details, please give Angie a text on 403-618-9899.
Cree Pup Orange did us proud :) . He's always been a bit nervous to actually get in the truck, but so great once he is. Just went to sleep until we got to Global Calgary. An ideal home would have a dog-friend he could bond with, he's fine around cats, children likely okay for him, too. He's not a high-energy type (amazingly!), just an all-around good temperament'd fellow.
Darcy can be such a goof sometimes!
Now that Mary & Diana are both in 14 day adoption trials, it's Florence's turn <3 . She was a bit nervous at Global this week, but sure didn't take long for her to be interested in all the attention. She does well overall with other dogs, has been trying to play with my cats, leashwork underway ... her confidence and willingness to socialize and meet new people is 1000% better than a few short weeks ago!
Thank you as always to Global Calgary for having us in, including this Friday past where we brought Mary & Diana, two of the three Chi X's abandoned in Foothills County (Florence stayed home that day!). I wasn't honestly sure how they'd do, but the girls made me proud! And because of the segment, we do have adoption interest in all of The Supremes :) . Thanks again to the community members and neighbors for spotting them, to K9 Recovery Service for doing the catching, and to Riverwood Veterinary Clinic for their excellent care in getting them healthy and ready for adoption.
