Surabhi cow is ready to eat
Govardhan puja day happened to be very rainy this year (by Lord Indra's desire of course).
Therefore Gau puja was moved inside the barn.
Crazy project.Part 2.
While Daivata drove, 4 devotee helpers held onto a corner and the great brown ship set sail into the wind.We didn't know if the shelter would lift off the truck and go flying or if it would just slip off the truck half way to the cows, but we just started walking, yelling to each other as we moved slowly through the wind.
Crazy project.Part 1.
This fall we're keeping cows in the pasture as long as possible. They missed so much fresh grass grazing time because of the summer fire. The only problem is that October is a very windy months and there is not much protection for the cows on the field.Last night the wind got out of hand,a mini hurricane, and cows were suffering.Today we decided to move the portable shelter from Daivata's to Ramesvara's house, about half a kilometer.
We bolted the shelter to two large planks and lifted one plank onto Daivata's truck and two other onto a rickety trailer, being pulled by his truck.Ramesvar called it " India style".
Loving exchanges with cows in the grazing fields.
Today is the first day of fall.
It was windy and cloudy.
It didn't stop our guests from spending an hour w Krishna's cows.
The cows got lots of brushing and tasty snacks.
Naughty cows broke out of their grazing area and came back to the barn.
Only Laxmi and her good son Ram were left back. Its hard for her to walk far and he always takes good care of her.
Finally the grazing fields fence, damaged by recent fire, got repaired. The cows couldn't contain their excitement and started running when they saw where they were headed :D
Please help Saranagati community in the time of crisis.
Saranagati village, home of Ahimsa goshala for the last 10 years, was devastated by the forest fire.
Today we visited cows. They are safe, but not very happy.Confused and lonely.
They are missing home,I could see it in their eyes.
