We promote the wellness of animals in the community of Thunder Bay District, surrounding areas including servicing aboriginal communities and relocation animals to a safe environment. Our vision is to reduce the homeless, abandoned cats. We strive on educating the public on the need to spay and neuter and promote responsible pet ownership. We focus on domestic pets, and stray cats by providing veterinary care which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, feline leukemia testing, de worming and assessment of overall health of the animals we rescue. Once vetted, we put cats up for adoption. Our vision is to reduce the homeless, and abandoned by providing them safety and a warm loving home in our two sanctuaries and in foster homes.

Who doesn't love a holiday miracle? These sweet Ice Babies are certainly that! Ice Pick and Ice Cube were rescued from a freezing barn by a caring individual in the nick of time. If they had spent even a few more hours in the cold, they surely would have died. Their Christmas Angel brought them to Caring Hearts where they were rushed to an Emergency Vet and then spent 3 more days under the care of the excellent staff at Highview clinic . They have now melted and are warming up to being handled. They are starting to give in to their new life and have begun to purr and accept affection. Here is the first picture of them playing. The little girl has some sass but then what girl doesn't? 😅 Once they are fully recovered they will be put up for adoption but for now they will spend Christmas with their devoted foster mom.❤ Happy Holidays from our little Ice Babies!

Update on the hypothermic kittens

The kittens survived the night and have been transferred to Caring Hearts veterinary clinic. They are about 10 weeks old. Both still on IV fluids and scheduled feeding. Will remain in hospital until hydrated and blood work goes back to normal.

These two wee ones were found in a very cold barn, hypothermic and almost non responsive. They are now with the emergency on call vet, receiving treatment. If you are able to donate to their vet bill, any small amount would help. Donations can be made on our website at www.caringheartscatrescue.ca or by e-transfer to [email protected]. Please keep these little ones in your thoughts and prayers.
