These leads have no beads, but what they do have are two strategically placed ring knots that have been tightened over a terminal knot and then woven into the lead to help keep them in place.

Left lead colours: royal blue, royal blue foil, ice blue foil

Right: classic black and new metallic gold

- hand tied decorative knots at handle and collar end

As always, I inspect my leather laces to make sure there's no splices in the leather that cause weak points in a lead. Leathers are all split and beveled by me before being stretched and conditioned prior to braiding. After braiding is done I roll the leads and lightly condition again so you get a great feeling lead right out its thoughtfully put together packaging.

Folk Art in the show ring

This lead is just about as custom as it gets!

This client came to me with an idea: swiss folk art inspired beads with dark green leather. Immediately I knew THE bead artist to go to who would bring the woven trim floral pattern to life, and she did not disappoint. The beautiful beads have been set on a deep fern green that enhances their folky charm so beautifully.

🌸Shop Update🌸

If you've been shopping for a collar recently you may have noticed that my website is a little light on product right now. Why is that? Well, I've been gradually winding down production and availability in preparation for the arrival of our first child who is due in just a few short weeks.

Taking time away from this business is a little terrifying as it's been an ever present factor in my life for some 7 years, and I so appreciate all the support and relationships that have come along with those years.

While I do not have a set timeline to return to full capacity, I will work on posting some pre-made collar inventory in the near future juuuuust in case you need to scratch that RooRoo Couture collar itch.

Our Story

Hi I'm Brittney! I am proud to be owned by a retired racer named Shotgun, and a rescued Galgo named Finnegan! Together they make up my two Roos! I started making collars at the request of a good friend for her dogs featuring the pattern for an upcoming fundraiser. One thing led to the next, and here I am making buckle collars and martingale collars! I believe in form and function. There is no use making a pretty collar if it’s just going to fall apart, or not be the piece of safety equipment most of us require a collar to be. To ensure my collars are as safe and functional as they are pretty I reinforce the interior of the collar with a heavy weighted polypropylene webbing (900+ lb break strength and mould + mildew resistant !) so that ugly, stinky, plain jane webbing that every collar should have is there...it’s just hidden behind much nicer stuff. All of my collars are lined with a super soft snuggle satin to help reduce rubbing on a dogs neck which can cause balding. I’ve put a lot of time into researching hardwares to finish this all off so that I can be sure that the hardwares you rely on to keep your dog safe are some of the best on the market. Of course, all this means nothing if the sewing isn’t reinforced, so I’ve upgraded production to use a professional semi-industrial machine which ensures that once my stitches go in, they aren’t prone to pulling out!
