Jungle Out There Pet Services Your in-home pet care solution in High River, Alberta! I dedicate my life to providing a high qualit Welcome! I bring you peace of mind when you can't be there.

I officially opened Jungle Out There Pet Services on September 1, 2015, after my husband Richard and I had struggled to find professional in-home pet care for our own animals. My education, experience, and passion as a pet owner boasts professional, compassionate, and personalized care to both 2 and 4 legged clients. I offer a wide range of services:

- Private Dog Walks
- Off-Leash Pack Dog Walks


- Pet Care Visits (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length)
- Home/Security Checks
- Pet Supply Pick Up/Pet Taxi
- Backyard Chicken/Small Flock Resources

All services include regular updates, a detailed visit checklist of tasks completed, an overall health evaluation and lots of TLC! There are no additional fees for medication administration or for holidays. I am insured, licensed, bonded, certified in Pet First Aid/CPR, and vet recommended. I am happy to provide references and a copy of my criminal record check upon request. Rescue work is near and dear to my heart and I have partnered with Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society for a fundraising initiative called Change for Critters! Clients will have the option to add $1.00 to their invoice which will go directly to help the animals! Call or text today to book your complimentary Meet and Greet! Effective November 1, 2016: I am unable to provide pet care services to clients who live outside of High River town limits

Effective January 1, 2020: Only once daily 15 minute pet care visits and home/security checks are offered on Saturdays and Sundays

Effective July 1, 2022: A total mileage fee of $2.50, plus GST, is added to each service

What a beautiful morning to check out the High River Garden Tour! 🌷This year’s tour had 7 very unique gardens each with its own story of how it came to be. Each offered tranquility and inspiration, and were a true testament to the homeowners dedication and passion. It was fabulous connecting with new and old friends alike on the tour. Thanks to Sheppard Family Park, museumofthehighwood, the fabulous group of ladies I toured around with today, and especially all the gardeners who opened up their beautiful gardens for all to enjoy today 🙏🏼

Oh Burt Reynolds 💙 It’s been just over a week since this cuddly and cheeky little fellow joined our home from heavencanwaitrescue_highriver! He’s made himself right at home and even slept with us in bed the first night we had him out and about 😂 He’s doing great with our other house cat (although she isn’t as interested in all the playing he is, ha!) and quite good with the dogs (as long as they respect that it’s on his terms, ha!). He’s affectionate, playful, loving, and sassy. He has brought so much joy in our home and hearts, and we are so glad he found his way to us 🙏🏼

‘Tis the season for beautiful weather, long days, and BUGS! 🦟

I strongly recommend all pet owners talk to their veterinarian about an appropriate prevention program specific for their dogs which may include deworming and parasite prevention for external parasites such as ticks, fleas, and lice, especially at this time of year. Your vet will know best what will work specifically for your furbabe!

If your dog comes on pack walks and is showing signs of illness, or has a potentially infectious condition, please keep them at home for the safety of all the other dogs.

Also it’s that time of year when we need to be extra diligent about recognizing heatstroke in our pets. Signs of heatstroke in your dog include excessive panting, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, elevated temperature, and even death. Use extreme caution when exercising your dog on hot, humid days and with senior, obese, and short nosed dogs. Cool your dog immediately if you suspect heatstroke and contact your veterinarian. Always make sure your critters have access to shade and cool water when outside, plan your dog walks during cooler parts of the day, and never leave your dog unattended in the vehicle.

Highwood River Monitoring Update – June 21, 2025 – 8:45 a.m.

Current flow rate at the centre street bridge: 10 m3/s (cubic meters per second).

Current flow rate upstream from Longview (Diebel’s Ranch): 12 m3/s

This rain is very much welcomed.

Perspective:
1. 2013 Flood: 1830 m3/s
2. 2005 Flood: 770 m3/s
3. 1995 Flood: 990 m3/s

Our current mitigation infrastructure in High River has been modeled to show protection beyond 3000 m3/s.

I’ll post again if we see over 100 m3/s – until then enjoy Netflix.

A big welcome to our new cat, Burt Reynolds (name courtesy of Richard, of course 😆)! Very happy to have this cuddle bug as part of our family.

He came into heavencanwaitrescue_highriver last month from Eden Valley. He literally jumped in someone’s car at a gas station looking for a human to help him 🥹 He was shaved as his fur was very matted, had a vet check and was neutered by the awesome Doc Teri, and put on some weight before going up for adoption. He is about 2 years old and did amazing at HCW with other cats and dogs.

We met him last weekend and it was love at first forehead nudge 🥰 He has since come home with us and we are gradually working on introducing him to our other house cat, Millie. So looking forward to many years of loving on this sweet boy. Welcome, Burt!

Wishing these two red headed besties a very Happy Birthday as we celebrate the fabulous gals they both are today ❤️👯‍♀️

Miss Barley turns 7 today! This sweet gal has defied all the odds after losing her leg to cancer back in 2021 and continues to do amazing! She is so inspirational and hasn’t missed a beat since becoming a tri-pawd. She runs and plays just as fast as the other pups and is one tough girl. Her resiliency is amazing 🥹

Miss Tillie turned 7 yesterday! She comes on every pack walk and never fails to make me giggle with all her antics. Picking her up is such a hoot as she announces my arrival every time! 😂 She’s such a silly girlie and always lives life to the fullest. She will always hold a extra special place in my heart, as will Kya, the very special pup who came before her and was my first doggie client 🥲

Here’s to another year around the sun for these two sweet pups! They are so loved today and every day 🙌🏼

Welcome! My name is Cassandra Kirkpatrick and I am the Owner/Operator of Jungle Out There Pet Services. Shortly after my husband and I moved to High River in 2011 with our four dogs, I recognized a need in the community for professional pet care services. We both worked long days at work, and would often say to each other, "Wouldn't it be nice to have someone who was trust worthy, reliable, and loved our dogs as much as we do that could come to our home and let them out during the day?".
