Jungle Out There Pet Services Your in-home pet care solution in High River, Alberta! I dedicate my life to providing a high qualit Welcome! I bring you peace of mind when you can't be there.

I officially opened Jungle Out There Pet Services on September 1, 2015, after my husband Richard and I had struggled to find professional in-home pet care for our own animals. My education, experience, and passion as a pet owner boasts professional, compassionate, and personalized care to both 2 and 4 legged clients. I offer a wide range of services:

- Private Dog Walks
- Off-Leash Pack Dog Walks


- Pet Care Visits (15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length)
- Home/Security Checks
- Pet Supply Pick Up/Pet Taxi
- Backyard Chicken/Small Flock Resources

All services include regular updates, a detailed visit checklist of tasks completed, an overall health evaluation and lots of TLC! There are no additional fees for medication administration or for holidays. I am insured, licensed, bonded, certified in Pet First Aid/CPR, and vet recommended. I am happy to provide references and a copy of my criminal record check upon request. Rescue work is near and dear to my heart and I have partnered with Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society for a fundraising initiative called Change for Critters! Clients will have the option to add $1.00 to their invoice which will go directly to help the animals! Call or text today to book your complimentary Meet and Greet! Effective November 1, 2016: I am unable to provide pet care services to clients who live outside of High River town limits

Effective January 1, 2020: Only once daily 15 minute pet care visits and home/security checks are offered on Saturdays and Sundays

Effective July 1, 2022: A total mileage fee of $2.50, plus GST, is added to each service

Juno, meet Bowser 🐢 Our Hermann's tortoise has met many new dog friends since we added him to our family in the Fall! He’s already grown so much and loves digging, exploring, burrowing, and basking in the sunlight. Eventually once he’s fully grown, we’ll let him cruise around our home (after it’s tortoise proof, ha). This species of tortoise only gets to about 6-8” long and will weigh about 5 pounds as an adult. They are slow growing and it will take him several years to reach his full size… so he won’t be free ranging anytime soon! 😆

Richard and I have booked a trip to Mexico in May! No pet care services will be available from May 23 to 31 when we are on our trip, but I will resume all services as usual on June 1.

Happy Family Day everyone! 🙌🏼

Hope you were able to spend quality time with those you love most today.

We spent most of the weekend hibernating 🥶 Because very chilly weather is forecasted for tomorrow, all private and pack walks will be cancelled. I hope to resume walks on Wednesday and will keep everyone posted.

It’s wee Sammy’s birthday today! 🥳

The farm kid, as I affectionately call him, turned ten today. This sweet fellow has been through a lot in the last year or so being diagnosed with diabetes and a year ago he underwent cataract surgery which literally gave him a new look on life. He’s been one of my Wednesday pack walk pups for several years and it’s a pleasure caring for him when his humans go away on vacation. He’s the best boy and I’m glad I got to spoil him on his birthday today 🩵

One of my clients Sundi Clark - REAL Broker just added a new furry member to her family; the cutest little mini dachshund named Lucy-Lu 🥹 She weighs a whopping 4 pounds and is not quite 3 months old yet. I’ll happily be her Valentine any day, she’s SO sweet! 🥲

Check on your dog walker this winter… they haven’t thawed out in weeks and may be permanently frozen 🥶😬😅

The heated gloves I got at Christmas have been a huge help in keeping my hands comfortable during this cold snap. Between walking dogs for clients and our own farm chores, spending several hours a day outside is common for me and these have been a game changer.

I think everyone, humans and critters alike, has a bit of cabin fever after being so cooped up this week from the cold weather 🥶 With temperatures being more bearable today everyone is getting outside again with private and pack walks resuming and yes, Richard’s donkey Margarita was let out of the barn to frolic in the sun today as well much to her delight 🫏 Let’s hope the worse of the cold snap is behind us!

“Wake me up when winter is over” was Rose’s thoughts today (I’m with her 😆🥶). With temperatures in the -30’s, it looks like private and pack walks will unfortunately need to be cancelled for the time being. I’m hoping by Thursday it will warm up enough we’ll be able to go on our pack walk 🤞🏼 A pet care visit with a bathroom break can be substituted for any of my dog walk clients who need it for their pups this week. Based off the forecast this is the look I’m going to be sporting this weekend 😂😬

With temperatures dropping to the -20’s beginning on Saturday and continuing through to Wednesday next week, all private and pack walks will likely need to be cancelled but I can substitute a pet care visit for pups to still be let outside for a bathroom break if needed.

I will keep everyone posted because as we all know the weather can change very quickly and is never set in stone 😆 Stay warm this weekend y’all.

Richard and I had the pleasure today of meeting Ryan (and his very affectionate cat, Catherine!) with barronboots!

What a talented craftsman Ryan is. Not only does he make absolutely stunning custom cowboy boots, he also makes belts, purses, gloves, and wallets. It was so interesting to hear him talk about how he started his business located in his shop by Millarville to the whole process of making a pair of boots (it takes about 30 hours!) to sourcing materials from all over the world.

Ryan does beautiful work, is reasonably priced, and clearly puts his heart and soul into everything he makes. It’s so important we support these local, small businesses now more than ever and you should definitely connect with Ryan if you’re in the market for a new pair of boots. Look forward to seeing Richard’s boots when they’re done! 🤠

What is better for your sweet 16 birthday than a new set of wheels?! 🩷🥹🚗 I’ve had the pleasure of taking care of Miss Matilda for several years, even since her humans moved to Airdrie. Despite some health issues that have come with her age, she’s still living her best life with the most awesome humans ever 🫶🏼 They got her this wagon recently so she can still come on all the adventures and she loves it! I can’t even handle the shades and how she’s rocking her Stamp n' Stencil bandanna from her auntie. Keep killing it, girl! 🙌🏼

Okay, so every dog is awesome… but is your dog “brings the groceries in for you” awesome?! 🤣🍌 Tuck’s mom has been telling me how he helps bring in their groceries and she finally got it on video and sent it to me. Omg, I love him and I’m so glad he brings that playfulness to all our Thursday pack walks too! 🥹

My Story

Welcome! My name is Cassandra Kirkpatrick and I am the Owner/Operator of Jungle Out There Pet Services. Shortly after my husband and I moved to High River in 2011 with our four dogs, I recognized a need in the community for professional pet care services. We both worked long days at work, and would often say to each other, "Wouldn't it be nice to have someone who was trust worthy, reliable, and loved our dogs as much as we do that could come to our home and let them out during the day?".
