🚫 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 : 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗻’𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲́𝘀 🚫

À la suite de notre grand ménage d’automne, on a réalisé qu’on débordait d’articles généreusement offerts, mais qu’on n’utilise finalement pas au refuge! On tient à dire un 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶 à toutes les personnes qui pensent à nous et qui veulent aider nos pensionnaires — votre soutien et votre bienveillance nous touchent profondément. 🐾✨

Cela dit, pour améliorer nos processus, être plus efficaces et pouvoir consacrer encore plus de temps aux soins des animaux, 𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗮 𝗱𝗲́𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲́𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲́𝘀.

Pas d’inquiétude! Lorsqu’on aura besoin d’articles précis (jouets, gâteries, couvertures, etc.), on publiera des appels clairs sur nos réseaux sociaux. 💬

Encore une fois, merci du fond du cœur pour votre soutien continu envers les animaux vulnérables. 💕 Votre aide nous donne chaque jour un énorme coup de patte pour qu’ensemble, on continue de leur offrir une vie meilleure! 🐶🐱

Following our big fall cleanup, we realized that we had an overflow of generously donated items that we don't actually use at the shelter! We would like to say 𝗮 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to everyone who thinks of us and wants to help our residents—your support and kindness touch us deeply. 🐾✨

That said, in order to improve our processes, be more efficient, and be able to devote even more time to caring for the animals, 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

Don't worry! When we need specific items (toys, treats, blankets, etc.), we will post clear requests on our social media. 💬

Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued support of vulnerable animals. 💕 Your help gives us a huge helping paw every day so that together, we can continue to offer them a better life! 🐶🐱

Fall is coyote dispersal season in Ottawa. Young coyotes are leaving their parents to find new territory, which means more sightings in urban areas. Coyotes are part of Ottawa’s natural ecosystem.

If a coyote approaches, make noise, stand tall, and back away slowly.

Let’s coexist safely.

Dr. Jane Goodall, a pioneering primatologist & conservationist & the world‘s foremost expert on chimpanzees, thank you for your dedication & love of primates 🙏♥️

With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

Thank you Ottawa By-law & Regulatory Services 🙏

This morning an OC Transpo driver spotted this dog wandering alone in Vanier and was able to hold it until our officers arrived on scene. With their help, the pup was safely brought to the Ottawa Humane Society. If you recognize this dog or know the owner, please contact the Ottawa Humane Society to arrange pickup.
