Welcome to Bees Please Farms. Our goal is to help bring bees and chickens to those who want to enjoy fresh honey and eggs without committing to spending the time and money to do it all on their own. We offer Hive Hosting where you get to keep bee hives on your land, but we do all of the work. In return, you get honey, education, and the joy of watching bees at their work in your area. se, we keep the travel of our bees to a minimum by hosting on a yearly basis, thus reducing their travel stress. Happy, healthy bees are our main focus. Honey bees are facing many challenges these days, including mites, diseases, and pesticides. The current mortality rate for honey bees on Van Isl is around 50% each year. We strive to lower that number and share our knowledge with other beekeepers around the world. We also offer Rent The Chicken, where we deliver coops, laying hens, feed, food and water dishes, and instructions on how to care for your chickens. The chickens stay with you in their portable backyard coop for their laying period of May-October and then we pick them up and return them to the farm. If you decide you can’t bear to let them go there are also adoption packages available. Now offering Hatch the Chicken as well! We look forward to hearing from you. Bee loved.

Today (Saturday!) we are at Peninsula Country Market from 9-1. I'll be chatting in the Kids Zone at 11am about bees and chickens.
We have honeycomb, liquid honey and wasp traps for sale. See you there!

We have two Hatch rentals available now for June 1st. Perfect for homes, preschools, seniors homes. We bring you everything you will need to hatch the chicks and care for them for two weeks before they come back to the farm to grow up. $265+tax

I don't use Instagram much, it's not my preferred platform. But today is a special day. Many years in the making, and Bees Please has now gone Electric! I brought home our new car last night. I'll still have to use the truck for bigger equipment moves, and things like sugar bucket season, nuc installations and harvesting, but most day to day hive checks will be in this new BeeMobile. See you on the roads!

Seedy Saturday today at Bilston Creek Farm.

We are so excited to welcome you tomorrow to the Metchosin Seedy Saturday event! There is a great line up of vendors that will be inside the barn with seeds, plants, gardening tools and knowledge. There is also an all-star line up of presenters speaking on topics they are expert on:

10AM Kate Fraser - Bees Please Farms - Backyard Kitchens

11AM Stephanie Jacobs - Fireweeds Farms - Medicinal Plants

12PM - Fiona Hamersley Chambers - Metchosin Farm -
Breeding plant varieties, focus on potatoes

1PM - Kristen Miskelley - Satinflower Nurseries - Native Plants

2PM - Ronna Woudstra - Habitat Acquisition Trust - Oak and Prairie Ecosystems, native pollinators

The event is free to attend.
Our regular weekend activities are also still happening. Private fire pits are available to book, the farm store will be open, and drinks and small food offerings will be available at the Orchard Pub.

Labelling time!
Getting all of the backyard honey labelled up for my bee customers. I love all of the unique labels. Everyone gets to name their own honey.
