On your arrival at the Oaks Vet, you will be greeted by one of our dedicated team members who will strive to provide you with the absolute best veterinary care possible. Our staff
is highly qualified and conscious of the many facets involved in visits to the veterinarian, from explaining vaccination protocols to understanding the stress felt during an emergency situation. We pride ourselves in our love for animals and the special care we take to make visits enjoyable for them. We also offer longer than average appointments to get to know you and your pet better and luxury boarding. The Oaks Vet is a different kind of veterinary hospital, that is why it is called a medical centre. Our general practice caters to annual exams, vaccinations, and surgeries such as spays and neuters. For the patients who aren’t feeling well, we offer advanced care in internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, acupuncture, cardiology, chemotherapy, behaviour and exotics medicine. The Oaks Vet is fully equipped to diagnose and treat ongoing illnesses. We see referral cases from Moncton as well as the rest of the province and Nova Scotia.

Here's some of the most common diseases/illnesses in cats and how to spot them in your fur baby!
Feline diabetes- weight loss, increased thirst, frequent urination, lethargy, sweet-smelling breath
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)- blood in urine, straining to urinate, excessive licking of the ge***al area, crying out during urination
Cancer- persistent skin infections or sores, diarrhea/vomiting, decreased appetite, difficulty urinating or defecating, labored breathing

Watch for signs of heatstroke in your pets like heavy panting, drooling, and tiredness. Make sure they have lots of fresh water, a cool spot to rest, and never leave them in a hot car or tied up in the sun.
