Hi everyone, hope you had a Happy Halloween. We had a ton of fun got dressed up for the first time in years.
So the DNA was back last week on the youngest of the Conures that are available so it turns out they were all boys so I have::
——three male green cheek
——one female green cheek
——one female turquoise
——three female Cockatiels and
——English and Australian budgies for adoption.
We show our birds by appointment from Tuesday through Saturdays 1 PM to 5 PM each day. We’re also booking for fall wing and nail trims for anyone interested in getting in before it gets too cold and of course our boarding room is available all season long. Christmas gets busy so if you have dates that you’re going away, you should tentatively book with us to make sure that we have the space available.

Hi everyone, hope all is well and everyone’s enjoying the beautiful weather…. We’ve been busy cleaning and hand feeding babies and we have our conures now transferred into a flight cage from the incubator although they’re still hand feeding three of them are pretty close to being ready.
Two are yellow sided and one is a green cheek (DNA submitted) and then the other three younger ones are green cheek.
We also have a couple Cockatiel females still available. One is dark gray, and one lutino…. Three more babies are ready to be pulled to begin hand feeding now.
We have some new additions in Lovebird breeding and we do have one baby fisher love Bird available for adoption and expect to have some more lovely lovebirds available soon.
Always lots of beautiful budgies, both Australian fancy and English available.
Also reminding everyone to schedule your fall wing and/or nail trim while the weather is still great!!!
Enjoy the beautiful fall season and I’ll say an early happy Thanksgiving and Happy Hallowee

Hi everyone…. Hope y’all are enjoying the beautiful weather…. The birds shore are and they’re keeping very busy over here!!!
We have two clutches of three babies, each for conures in our incubator …. Some colouring is in on them and there’s at least three yellow sided, probably three green cheek!!!
We also have some baby cockatiels that are just completing their weaning process and we’ve even had a few more recently hatch.
Of course, we always have a beautiful selection of budgies and we’re just setting up a couple of boxes for some really beautiful birds that were excited about!!!
The Caiques have been introduced to a box and although they didn’t show a whole lot of interest in it, they were mouth feeding for a while, and then they settled down, but I will be setting them up again soon in a more permanent setting.
I’ve been trying them in a couple of different cages to see what they prefer and of course I can’t get enough of them. They’re so much fun. It’s almost hard to want to breed these birds because they are so very interactive and breeding them will change some of that at least while they’re in that mode and hopefully I don’t lose my bond with them through the process.
The last photo is of one little turquoise girl who has to be rehomed due to her adoption not working out due to a job change for her daddy Bird ….She’s so sweet very interactive little Bird very personable.

So the DNA is in on our baby conures and it turns out we have three male turquoise green cheeks and one female green cheek currently available for adoption.
They are just weaning off on the last bit of formula now so we are starting to book appointments now for viewing.
Please private message me for any further information on the adoption process.

So thought I would put a video out of two of the beautiful boys that I’m looking to rehome….they are gorgeous birds and could do a lot better than just hanging around here with nothing much to do!!!
They can be adopted together or separately, but our preference would be together of course they are friends, but they’ve been with other birds and they’ve not been together for a long time so we would properly prepare them by separating them well in advance of the adoption being completed if need be.

JULY UPDATE

Budgies-English and Australian
Various ages and colouring.

Finches- We adopted out everything except a couple of zebras so we might have zebra babies down the road.

Lovebirds-we adopted out most of the flock that we had and have a very small compliment of them at the moment and not sure if we will continue to breed them.

Rosy Bourkes-turns out I only have one female that’s interested in laying, and I’ve only had a couple of birds this season that I have kept for myself to increase my flock. Once I have the compliment that I require, I will then offer any new babies out for adoption. It is my intention to continue to breed these birds so we will have them available possibly later or late this year.

Cockatiels-Everybody’s out exercising, although I have one female insisting on nesting so we may have more babies this summer.
I’ve added a few new tiels to my flock and we’re hoping will have more babies available this upcoming season.

Conures-we have one male turquoise available from our previous clutch ready to go with DNA certificate.
We also have four babies in our incubator that are 5+ weeks along and three of them are turquoise and one is a green cheek. These will also have DNA included.
We’re done for the season and everybody’s exercising and taking a break for the summer so these are the last birds will have until possibly the new year.

CAIQUES-displaying some behaviours now that they’re maturing and have been regurgitating and mouth feeding so I have them in a cage and I’m introducing them to a box in hopes that they will go to nest in the upcoming season. They are fully bonded and at the appropriate age so we are hopeful.

BIRDS for REHOMING

We are looking at downsizing some of our flock …. particularly some of our bigger birds that are no longer breeding or that we have never bred that we now hope to rehome.
So for anyone interested possibly in a rehoming scenario with a larger bird species we invite serious inquiries only…..for any further details you can PM me.
Thanks
Darlene

Happy summertime everyone hope you’re keeping yourself and your kids and your fids cool, as it is anticipated we should get higher than unusual temperatures this summer.
There are cost-effective ways to keep your birds cool without having to turn on an AC such as:
using a cool mist to spray at the hot points in the day
offering frozen fruit, such as frozen blueberries as a treat and offering them while they’re still frozen,
changing the water more than once a day and even adding some ice cubes to keep the temperature cool,
offer a little pond of water for them to wade/bathe in.
Airflow is really important so a great fan with a small block of ice in a bowl in front of the fan can also help cool a small area and remember to point the fan away from your bird not directly towards them.
Stay cool, my friends!!!

Also want to bring everyone up to speed on the babies that we have available right now.
We have a lovely selection of beautiful budgies….. I am weaning a female cinnamon Cockatiel and I have two more in my incubator a dark gray and a Lutino (lutino adopted)…. we also have more birds on eggs…..more Cockatiels soon!!
So the dark gray, and the cinnamon are still available .
I also am just on the tail end of weaning off four Conures and we have had more hatchlings just recently and another pair on some eggs so we will definitely have lots of Conures this season.
Two of the Conures have been adopted so there is still one beautiful turquoise male and a gorgeous very red yellow sided female!!!
Also have some English budgie babies and some Australian fancies really beautiful colouring!!!

Happy long weekend everyone hope it’s a good one. We sure deserve it after this long cool spring!!
I wanted to introduce a couple new members of our flock Coco and Kiwi, who are a bonded pair of caiques who we eventually hope to have some babies from and I also added a few extra pictures from some of the rest of the flock!!!

15/04/2024

Hi everyone, sorry for the tardiness and getting a post out to you this season.
2024 is our 10th year in operation and although we have lots of excitement and lots of plans around all that, somehow we’ve got gotten off to a slow start this year.
We have many birds right now that are transitioning out of our breeding flock due to their age… this is particularly true of our Cockatiel flock who were already well into adulthood when we started with them over 10 years ago. We’ve had a couple of seasons now with them not doing much and have mostly just left them out now to free fly and enjoy their lives. We have just added another five birds to this flock and although they’re a little bit young, they may decide to go later this season or early next season. I do have one female right now on eggs and hope to have a few baby birds soon but not many.
Our Conures are breeding and we currently have four babies in our incubator and although I’ve not posted them yet a number of people have seen them and are interested in adopting.
The pins are just coming through enough to see that there is a turquoise, green cheek and cinnamon turquoise….. sweet babies all seem very healthy and are feeding very well.
We have so many beautiful budgies this year…..please mention them to friends or anyone you may know who is interested in a budgie.
We are also discontinuing our lovebirds as we don’t get many inquiries, and our flock is older, the same as our Cockatiels. I started with lovebirds and Cockatiels around the same time so it’s time to give them all a well-deserved break . Still beautiful busy little birds that we’re hoping to rehome.. some are younger also in this flock.
Once we downsize on a lot of the smaller birds are will be getting some new birds in and we hope to add some new species to our flock later this season as well….. so stay tuned for further info around that.
Our boarding facilities are in full swing and we have added a few more cages to better accommodate everyone however, if you have tentative dates, you might want to book in early especially if it’s between June and August.
We hope these changes will go along way to ensuring our success this year and in coming years and we thank everyone for their patronage along the way.…… 10 years….wow…. Time flies also around here…..it represents a lot of work, joy, happiness, tears, grief, love and patience around all these birds but at the same time we’ve enjoyed every minute of it … we love what we do and thank God every day for the honour of having these birds in our lives.
Lots of photos to come, and we will be updating you on more regular basis now that we’ve gotten the tax season out of the way and a big cleanup accomplished.
Darlene..
