Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue We are an Ottawa based rescue group attempting to home stray cats in Ottawa, and run a trap-neuter-return program for community cats.

The organization was founded in October 2011. We are now a Registered Canadian Charity and help over 600 cats each year

This Friday, January 24th from 6:30pm-8:00pm at Beacon Hill Fur Family Grooming & Training, 2200 Montreal Rd, Ottawa, join us for
"The Purrfect Ottawa Social". A great evening full of puurrfect fun, come and see some of our adorable cats while you learn about our programs and get ready for Valentines, yes we will also have our beautiful merchandise, socks, tees, mugs, etc. and you could even indulge yourself with our delicious home baked pastries.
Proceeds from our sales will go towards our programs helping to provide more kitties with the life and care they deserve!

For all the sponsors and donors and supporters of Grady, we are happy to provide this update and video from his foster momma. Sponsorships packages will soon be going out in the mail to everyone who donated. "Grady has been busy fighting a very difficult war that he is committed to taking on with all that he has. Although he is presently fighting an antibiotic resistant bacteria, he continues to grow and to become stronger. He is a playful, loving and wonderful kitten. He engages with everyone and will shy away from nothing. He has made a best friend; they are an adorable pair and he loves the resident dog! Grady is a happy, wonderfully adjusted kitten who has no idea that he is any different than the other animals in his home (except when he has to wear his cone) and he is an unbelievably relentless warrior. Grady continues to receive absolutely the most specialized care (and love) from the fabulous staff at Capital City Emergency and Specialty Hospital. We are cautiously optimistic that the next few weeks will bring more good news for this trooper. We thank everyone for their interest in Grady’s journey, for their support and their love."

Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue

About Our Programs

Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue (OSCatR) is a non-profit charitable organization (NO. 83641 4573 RR0001) which is dedicated to getting adoptable cats off the streets and into homes in and around the National Capital Region, as well as managing feral cat colonies in this area. Every effort is made to adopt cats into indoor homes through our Adoption Program.

In the course of our work, however, we occasionally encounter feral cats that we are unable to socialize to humans and which are not suitable for adoption into a home. These cats form the basis of many of the community cat colonies which we monitor around the city. Cats in these colonies go through our Trap-Neuter-Release Program (TNR).

Unfortunately some of these community cats need to be relocated from their outdoor homes due to dangerous conditions such as: traffic on a busy road, construction, demolition of their shelter, predators in the area. Once these cats have been rescued and assessed to be unsuitable for an indoor home, they are relocated to carefully monitored outdoor homes through our Feral Cat Relocation Program.
