Home and unpacked from the EKKOC Dog Show this weekend.

Phoenix managed three major wins this weekend getting Select Bitch Friday for 3 points, Select Bitch Saturday for 3 points and Best of Opposite today for 3 points. Not bad for a girl out of the show world for a year.

Thank you to Judges Todd Foley, Kaye McGhie for some much appreciated feedback and Randy E. Garren for commenting on what a lovely Bitch she is.

Thanks to our benching team for making the weekend enjoyable and stress free.

Let us load your cart up baby girl with love so you can cross the bridge and deliver it to your mother Maja, and litter-mates Tessa, Ridge and Magnus. And when you’re done handing that love out know the abundance left over is for you.

I am so going to miss our chats, some days it was over nothing but for the sake of proving you had a voice. Right from 6 weeks you and I had the gift of gab that was shared with no one else. I’m going to miss practicing my slight of hand with fruit and especially tomatoes (your favorite) when preparing meals and making you feel special like you were the only one getting a treat. I’m going to miss warm summer nights when you would lay directly on top of me while watching tv and have me melting into the couch. And the tummy rubs…you had the smoothest and softest belly that I could stroke for hours….thanks for those therapy moments. I’m going to miss allowing you to strut your stuff around the neighborhood pulling your cart with a proudness all the neighbours commented on. But most of all I’m going to miss you “meat hooking” my legs, stopping me dead in step, sometimes tripping me up, so I would stop what I was doing to give you some love. What you didn’t realize was that you were loved and cherished each moment of everyday for the past 8y2m.

Cinder how fast 8 years went by. It’s a known fact the average lifespan of a Bernese is eight years but those are short years. They seem over before you realize. In those years you gifted the world with 10 beautiful Berners. Your daughter Ember stayed with us and hopefully will continue your legacy. But who’s going to decorate the whelping box now and bring all the toys for the puppies?

We all miss you Cindi, terribly. My brain hasn’t caught up with my broken heart yet allowing me to comprehend you’re gone. I loved you so much and will continue to have you in my heart until it no longer beats. 💔

Red girl, now known as Tessie, made her travels by air today to Thunderbay, ON.

She’s Al Dixon’s third Berner from us and will be joining big berner brother Bohden and golden/bernese sister Setta. She’ll feel right at home with kitty Emma as well.

Third to leave Purple Girl, now known as Kiwi.

Kiwi is off on new adventures with our New Zealand friend Kathy Brown and big Berner sister Jenga in Calgary. I’m happy she’ll be coming back occasionally for extended visits, first one a ritual trip to Kelowna. Watch for Kiwi in the future at the dog shows.

Loki is traveling with Kerry and Greg Watson to Medicine Hat. He will have big berner brother Balou to keep him company and a feline friend (maybe two 😉)
