With calving season on its way we want to remind our farmers that if you are looking for custom/specialized tags, large amounts of vaccines, or non-regularly stocked medications, please let us know as soon as possible as special orders can take a while to come in (anywhere from 1-6 weeks). Be ahead of the game this calving season!

⚠️With the holidays and family gatherings quickly approaching we figured it was a good time to discuss some toxins to pets.

If your pet often likes to get into things they shouldn’t, it’s best to keep everything out of reach as best as you can. You can utilize gates, or keep your pets out of certain rooms.

There are a variety of plants that are toxic to pets, the biggest culprit is lilies.
Just a few nibbles of this plant can put cats into liver failure.

Pets love being around when people are eating, especially with guests. They will look for the “weakest link” to see who will give them something off their plate.
It’s best to keep your pets in a seperate room completely to reduce the risk of any toxic foods being ingested.

Ivy, a golden retriever mix was last seen Nov 27 around 12-1pm near Rd 33N and Rd 31E in Mitchell.

She is wearing a collar with ID on it.
She is about 7 months old with white patches on her chest and front feet, very friendly.

⭐️LOOKING FOR NEW HOME⭐️

Rogue is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees x looking for a new home.

She’s done very well guarding her farm but due to some changes she will need a new farm to look after.

Rogue is a very sweet girl once you get to know her. She may come off shy or nervous at first, especially with men, but she responds well to treats.

Has done well with older children.

She would do best on a farm with lots of acreage to help protect. Once she knows what animals are meant to be there she’s done her job well!

We are hoping to help her find her new home before December 7.

As of November 18, Dr Julia Joshi has officially started her maternity leave. While we are extremely thrilled for her and her husband and we excitedly await the arrival of their little one, it means the veterinary capacity of our clinic may need to change over the next 12 months. Due to the shortages within the veterinary field, it has been difficult to recruit someone to cover her leave.

What that means to our clients is that there may be longer wait times for appointments for both annual wellness visits and sick pet appointments.

We will do our best to see as many patients as we can, but we will be unable to accommodate the usual volume of appointments without risking the quality of care to the patients we can see.

While we continue to try serve our clients and attempt to find coverage options, please be patient and understanding with our front desk staff when trying to book appointments. We promise we are doing the best that we can.

If you know that your pets will be due for anything in the next few months. Try to book your visits ahead of time, before they are due.

If your pet is feeling unwell or having any issues, please call us as soon as possible so we can do our best to fit them in. Though we immensely appreciate your loyalty, in some cases for the sake of your pets health and wellbeing we may recommend you be seen by another Veterinary Clinic sooner if we cannot get them seen in a timely manner.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring and we thank you very much for your understanding.

Happy Practice Manager Week to our very own Alisa!!

Alisa came to Graydon Vet in December of 2015 as one of our receptionists.
She quickly became a vital part of our team, with her welcoming smile and personality.

In no time at all, she began to take on more responsibilities and found ways for us to be more efficient as a team. She continued to take on more managerial tasks while at the same time attended the CVPM program to become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager!

These days she’s not often one of the first faces you see when you walk into our doors but know that she is working hard in the background keeping things running smoothly and cracking jokes while also keeping us in line. 😛

Help us in wishing Alisa a Happy Practice Managers Week and acknowledging all her hard work! We really couldn’t do what we do without her!
