Happy 🤓 I am not a morning person and quite enjoy settling in to my day slowly - after the Bb crew have all been taken care of, of course! Carina and I are just enjoying some snuggle time while I enjoy my current read on my . Listen nothing beats holding a physical book but my e-reader certainly comes close. Plus I don’t end up with ripped and chewed pages - I’m looking at you bunnies. 😆 Do you like to read? Do you prefer a physical book, an e-reader or audiobooks? What are you reading right now? ♥️📖

For anyone who may be trying to evacuate Ukraine with their animals today here are some resources that may be able to offer some help during this devastating time. If you are trying to evacuate with small animals and don’t have a carrier, a tote, laundry basket, large purse etc will do. The biggest essential to try and bring with you is hay and water but in an emergency getting yourselves to a place of safety is the most important right now. Please know my heart is with the people of Ukraine and I am thinking of you all. Stay safe, stay well. 💖🐰

🇸🇰 (From the comments) Slovakia is also accepting refugees with their pets and relaxed necessities. The pets will need to go into a quarantine for 5 days, but the authorities are ready to help out, upon entry you need to fill out a document, that's it. Everything else will be taken care of

Oh hi everyone! It’s me Atticus. Overall I’m feeling much better. I’m up and about and eating and drinking on my own. I’ve gained a good amount of weight back and have been moved back to the pet room so I can be with Penny. Unfortunately Penny can be a little bossy so I’m still in my own pen but we do get lots of snuggle and snack time together. I’m still not using my front right foot but mom does see me trying to flip it the right way. If she puts it out for me I can put weight on it so we both hope I’ll be able to use it again at some point. I have lots of cushy cozy places to lounge and two sets of padded liners so it isn’t painful to walk around on. I still have another 10 days of panacur and mom has kept me on metacam to help with pain relief and inflammation, especially since I’m walking around with that foot bent and supporting myself on what would be your ankle or wrist. I was originally done my antibiotics five days ago but over the weekend mom and dad noticed I was getting pretty quiet and starting to stumble a bit more, then yesterday I was shaking my head a lot so both mom and the vet have decided to do another few weeks of treatment. Hopefully at the end of all of this I can go back to living a happy, normal life with my favourite wifey bun. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts!! 💖

Y'all my little fighter is doing SO well! He's gained back most of his mobility with the exception of his one front paw. If I turn it the right way out though he has been able to put a little weight on it so I am hopeful he will regain at least some movement in it. He's eating and drinking on his own which means I can finally get some much needed rest during the night. He's up and active and happy to see us which makes me tear up each time I pop in to see him. He is still on metacam for pain and inflammation, antibiotics, p**p soup for probiotics and panacur but we're currently phasing out the cisapride and sub-q. He's also up a few hundred grams!! I will be setting up a slightly larger pen for him back in the bunny area so he can have a little more freedom and most importantly be able to interact with Penny. She's always been a humper 🤦‍♀️😝 and I don't want to add any extra stress while his body is recovering which is why I’m not ready to let them be together full time just yet. Thank you all for your continued love and support, it's truly helped during this very emotional, stressful and exhausting time. ♥️

Love heals ♥️♥️ Atticus had a vet check yesterday and everyone was thrilled at how well he’s progressing. He’s up, alert and hopping around (still wobbly but he’s getting there) and he can keep his head up without tiring. The only physical concern we are seeing is with his one front paw. He still doesn’t have movement in it and it often sits tucked under him. As his body is responding so well to treatment though we are hopeful he will eventually regain function in it. We asked for another lesson on administering sub-q and because of our struggles last week, now knew the right questions to ask. We feel much more confident about doing this ourselves and will be continuing his fluid therapy at home for the next bit. Now our only concern is his gut motility. Through this entire ordeal one blessing was that he was eating well and p**ping. Over Sunday and Monday however this really took a turn. His appetite has been the same but nothing was moving along as it should so his tummy would continue to swell. I’m hoping this is just a temporary setback from all of the meds he’s on and not having been able to drink water or ingest any cecotropes the past week. We’ve increased his probiotics, gas drops and cisapride and have seen some great progress over the last 12 hours. We hope now that he’s moving around more and able to eat and drink on his own that this will right itself over the next few days with our added support. Thank you all for your very kind comments, words of encouragement and love. It’s been a week of long days and sleepless nights and I just haven’t had the energy or time to get back to everyone but am doing my best to keep everyone updated. I promise to reply to your lovely messages as soon as I can. 🥰

Snuggle time. 🥰♥️ We popped Atticus in to the vet this morning for his Sub-Q fluids. Mr. Bb and I were struggling to do it ourselves and thought it was safest we just bring him in. We have been seeing some little improvements that are keeping us hopeful. He’s holding his head upright for small moments here and there when he eats. He’s regained some strength in his limbs and moving around more. His body is relaxing now and again in to a more normal ‘loaf’ state. Today he even managed to stand up - although very wobbly - for a few minutes. He continues to have a great appetite but I still have to gently hold his head up so he can swallow. We’ve got our routine down - we have a good schedule for meds, I’m getting up twice in the night for feedings and to syringe water and checking on him every couple of hours in the day. The washing machine hasn’t stopped as every time I’m in there he needs to be switched to fresh bedding. Under his blankets he has a heating pad on low to keep him warm. We know recovery can be long and tricky when you’re dealing with EC but we are hoping we’ll continue to see these little positive moments as the days go on. 🤞💖

Thank you for all of your well wishes and keeping our sweet boy in your thoughts. We had some little wins over the night. There were a few brief moments where suddenly he was supporting his head on his own.🤞 His body has also relaxed a bit more so while he’s completely immobile he is letting me lay him sideways which is much cozier and safer for him. I haven’t wanted to upset anyone but when he is up he is stuck in a horrible C shape. As he couldn’t lift his head, I was honestly scared he would suffocate himself. There were also a few times when I had him out where his body seemed more relaxed and not in a rigid C shape. He is sooo hungry - I had him eat lots of hay when I was up with him, he had some pellets, some critical care with meds and syringed water. As long as I hold his little head up to support his neck he can eat on his own. He has a heating pad on low under his blankets and beds to keep him warm as he was getting a little cold with being unable to move. He and Penny had a good snuggle before bedtime last night and both were tooth purring so we will be making sure they get some time together over the day. ♥️

Atticus has spent a day at our vet who feels confident this is EC. Thankfully while completely immobile our little man is HUNGRY so we are syringe and hand feeding to keep his appetite up. He is unable to lift his head so our vet has taught Mr. Bb how to administer sub-q fluids. He has also been sent home with a course of panacur, baytril and metacam. Penny will also be receiving a short round of panacur just in case she is asymptomatic. We are keeping him confined to a small recovery pen at the moment but he’s getting lots of gentle cuddles from us as well as visits from Penny. Please keep our sweet boy in your thoughts, we truly hope to start seeing improvement soon! 💖
