Our team came back from Europe with some extra passengers! 🐾

We're excited to welcome K9's "Euro" and "Velvet", 9 week-old Dutch Shepherds, to the Alberta K9 family - from Crocs d'Eben kennels in France 🇫🇷

Members of our team recently returned from 3 weeks of volunteering in beautiful Ukraine, where we trained with the brave men & women who serve their country within the canine units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, National Guard of Ukraine, and State Emergency Service of Ukraine. 🇺🇦🇨🇦

We provided instruction on the methods used in Canada for training detection canines in various disciplines such as land mines, explosives, fi****ms, and narcotics - as well as for training patrol & search canines, and techniques for raising working puppies.

We delivered donated canine training equipment and supplies to these units (special thanks to Sniff Industries, ScentLogix, Modern K9 - Calgary, and Modern K9 - Edmonton for setting us up with equipment!)

K9 Fergus came along and demonstrated his skills in Ignitable Liquid Detection to various government agencies - as the work of canines for fire investigations is a new concept in Ukraine.

We visited and trained with K9 Torch (explosives detection canine), who we donated to the National Guard of Ukraine in March 2024.

We met with Ukrainian state officials, as well as the Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Natalka Cmoc.

It was a busy trip covering over 9 regions of Ukraine, as well as travel through 6 countries in Europe! 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇵🇱🇨🇿🇧🇪🇺🇦

An agreement was made with these units for continuing collaboration and additional training trips in the near future.

Our trip was made possible in partnership with our friends at Firefighter Aid Ukraine - who fundraised to cover travel expenses, and provided critical support during the trip. Our team assisted FFAU to deliver two donated Chevrolet Tahoes from Canada to frontline emergency units in Ukraine.

We will continue to stand with the people of Ukraine - and, stand firmly against their beautiful, independent, and free country continuing to be terrorized by russian aggression 💙💛

K9 Fergus and members of our team are off to Ukraine soon - with support from - to volunteer providing detection canine training and program support to emergency services and public safety agencies.

The Streetfighter K9 harness is manufactured in-house by LOF Defence in Edmonton.
