Our mission is to help ease the mind of the busy and loving dog owner by exercising and caring for their dogs when owners are not able to. We know that every dog owner loves their pet and would do anything for them. We also understand that life happens and doesn't always allow for time to adequately stimulate our dogs physically and mentally, and sometimes a walk just isn't enough. Feel free to contact us for more information!

Dexter and his family have been working with our amazing dog trainer, Reina, on his reactivity and loose leash walking. When mom injured her foot, she signed up for our training walks to keep Dexter's training on track!
What do training walks look like? Our team reinforces whatever you’re focusing on with our dog trainers. For Dexter, it’s 95% reactivity training, but we also practice loose leash manners, especially on low-distraction days. We actively look for other dogs during training walks to work on Dexter's threshold.
Dexter used to react whenever he spotted another dog. In the photo, he spotted a family out with their dog and showed interest without reacting. Way to go, Dexter!
When life gets busy, our team steps in. Consistency is key, and we’re here to ensure your pup’s training stays on track, even when you don’t have the time.
As the temperatures rise, keeping your furry friends safe and happy is our top priority.
Here are some tips to ensure a paw-some summer:
Hydration is Key! 💧 Always have fresh water available to keep your pets cool and hydrated.
Paw Protection! 🐾 Hot pavement can hurt those precious paws. Stick to grassy and shady areas or walk during cooler parts of the day.
Safe Exercise! 🏃♂️ Avoid intense activities during peak heat hours. Take breaks in the shade and for water!
Need a hand with your pet this summer? Dog Jogs is here to provide peace of mind! Our reliable team is always ready to keep your pets safe and happy. Plus, you'll get updates after every service, so you know exactly what your pet’s been up to!
Stay cool and enjoy the summer, fur-riends! 🐶🐱
Happy Anniversary, Haven! 🥳🎉
Today, we're celebrating an incredible milestone—Haven's one-year anniversary as a Dog Jogger with Dog Jogs! 🐾
Haven might be quiet, but she’s nothing short of mighty. 💪 From day one, she set an ambitious goal for herself: double jog days! And guess what? She achieved it in record time!
Her dedication and passion for our furry friends shine through every single day. Haven's commitment to making sure every pup has the best outing ever is truly inspiring.
Join us in giving a huge shoutout to Haven for her amazing achievements and the love she brings to the Dog Jogs family. Here’s to many more miles and many more wagging tails 🐶
Way to go, Haven! 🎉👏
Even though our walking services are the most popular service we offer, we still do a lot of Dog Jogs!
On average, our team completes about 115 dog jogs a month which is like 3.8 jogs a day. But that's also not exactly how booking those jogs work and of course there is no such thing as a .8 of a jog 😂
Both small and large dogs are capable of running, but this decision to sign your dog up for jogs is more about your dog’s energy level, body type, and endurance.
Some dogs do better trotting along for 4-5km with plenty of sniff breaks, while others love stretching their legs for 8-10km straight! 🏃♂️
Not sure if your dog should jog? Chat with your vet or try our dog walks – your furry friend will be just as happy!
Happy Birthday, Shawna! 🎂
Today, we're celebrating our incredible Dog Jogger, Shawna! 🐾 From her boundless energy to her unwavering love for our four-legged friends, Shawna brings so much joy and enthusiasm to every pet visit!
Here’s to you, Shawna! May your birthday be as amazing as you are and filled with all the things you love! We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Dog Jogs family.
Let's all give Shawna some birthday love in the comments below!
We've been asked, "So... do lazy people use your services?"
Ummmm, no!
Some of the most dedicated pet parents in Edmonton and the surrounding area use our services!
Our clients work long hours to provide the best care for their pets. From nurses, doctors, EMS, and police to those recovering from surgeries, elderly folks, and professionals with long commutes – they all have one thing in common: They love their pets and want the best for them.
Our clients are far from lazy. They’re committed to the well-being of their furbabies, and we’re here to help make that happen!
BUT If you are feeling lazy one day there is NO harm in booking a dog walk or jog for your dog so you can look after yourself ❤

We welcomed some new furry friends!! 🥰
Hunter the german shepherd is joining us for some good ol' dog jogs to help keep this young handsome boy busy on those long workdays.
Daisy the labradoodle is joining us 2x a week for a 30 minute walk and a dog jog to help her parents out when they can't fit her exercise in.
Stevie Nicks, the adorable kitty! Mom, who travels for work, reached out when her kitty sitter fell through. Stevie is a pretty self-suffecient cat , but LOVES attention and gets sad and lonely without visits!
Our team of Dog Joggers is more than happy to assist you with your furbaby!

Both Steph and I got really sick, and tested positive for covid a few weeks ago. One feverish night, I found myself panicking about who would take care of Dog Jogs if we couldn't.
When we started Dog Jogs, it was just Steph and me. We didn’t have backup staff, and in nearly 8 years, we've only ever canceled on a client once. It was a tough decision, but I was so ill with the flu that I couldn’t leave my bed for three days. That stressful experience made us realize that things had to change.
So, we started building our team with the goal of having anyone at Dog Jogs able to fill in for any service. The transition wasn’t easy—some clients missed the personal touch of just Steph and me—but many were thrilled to see us growing and offering more reliable care.
Fast forward to today, we’ve never canceled on a client since adding team members. Even when sickness, family emergencies, or accidents happen (like Steph’s rollover accident 1.5 years ago), our business runs smoothly. If you have services with us you'll know that we might have to push your dogs walk or cat's visit back a bit if something happens with a staff member, but we will always show up!
Our promise at Dog Jogs is to always provide reliable pet care, no matter what.
What about you? Have you had reliable pet care since getting your furry friend? Share your favourite thing about your pet care provider, even if it’s not Dog Jogs—we’d love to hear your stories! 🐾
P.S. Interested in reliable pet care for your furbabies but not sure where to start? Book a consult with us today!

Shout out to one of our newest team members Shawna! 🐶💪
During a visit, Shawna discovered that the handsome Murphy had done quite a number on his paw—it was red, raw, and clearly irritated from licking. Further inspection showed his leg was red too, and Murphy seemed quite bothered by it.
Shawna immediately let Murphy's mom know and asked if there was anything she could do before mom got home. Thankfully, Murphy’s mom had some steroid cream at home and asked Shawna to apply it before she left after the service. She planned to get him to the vet ASAP.
Later that evening, Murphy's mom messaged us to say the steroid cream had helped until she could get him to the vet. Murphy's now on medication, and we've got a plan in place to support him while he's healing.

What does 5 years of jogging with Dog Jogs look like?
It looks like Drax the Springerdoodle! 🐶✨
We've been running with the adorable Drax for almost 5 years now (coming up this September!). Helping his family over the years has been an absolute joy. From providing them with some extra time to ensuring Drax gets extra attention and exercise, it's been a wonderful journey. Drax’s wagging tail and happy paws are what Dog Jogs is all about!
Curious about how our services can benefit your furry friend? Check out our services or drop your questions in the captions 🐾
We're over the moon to welcome Oberon, Jasper, and Hugo to the Dog Jogs family!
Oberon, your mom's dedication in the healthcare industry is truly admirable. We're here to lend a helping paw on those long days, ensuring you get the love and exercise you need, especially after the loss of your dog brother.
Hugo, kudos to your parents for recognizing the importance of staying active. We're here to take the pressure off and ensure you have a paw-some 30 minute adventure while they handle their busy schedules.
Jasper, Mom's gearing up for a trip? We've got you covered with our weekly runs to get you accustomed to the Dog Jogs experience when we see you every day while they're away!
Do you think your pup could benefit from our services too? Reach out and let's make their tail wag with happiness! 🐾
Sure, cats are *so* independent... until the feeder goes on strike, the litter box stages a rebellion, and the water fountain dries up.
That's why our clients swear by our Cat Pawty Breaks – and honestly, can you blame them? 🐾✨
How do we keep your feline overlords happy and content? By customizing our services to cater to their royal needs, of course. Your peace of mind and their well-being is our top priority! 😺
Tell me, what does your feline friend need while you’re away?
☀️ warmer weather is here and so are the pesky parasites! Fleas, ticks, and lice are absolutely thriving in the warm weather. We recommend checking in with your vet (if you haven't already) to chat about the most effective/relevant parasite prevention methods best suited for your pets.
Not sure how to spot these little party crashers? No worries, we've got your back! Our Walks 'N Wags Pet First Aid Course has you covered on all things parasites and pet emergencies. Next classes are in September 2024 and November 2024.
We're also happy to announce that Nik and Steph just recently completed their instructing certification for Off The Grid (OTG). OTG is an extension of Pet First Aid basics, focusing on emergency pet care in those remote, off-the-beaten-path scenarios. 🌲🐶

Whether you're new around here or have been following Dog Jogs for a while you probably have met or heard about Reina
Reina is our amazing Office Manager and Head Dog Trainer at Dog Jogs! 🌟 With a diploma in Hospitality Management and Canine Behavior Science and Technology, she's truly our dog guru and customer service extraordinaire!
Reina's heart belongs to her furry friends! One of her favourite memories? Watching her dog, Ryder, discover the pure joy of playing in a lake for the first time.
She's a powerhouse of energy, fueled by coffee and her trusty to-do lists. ✨ When she's not helping your pets thrive, Reina dreams of running through the scenic landscapes of the UK, Ireland, and New Zealand. 🏃♀️🌍 And if you want to make her smile, just bring her a Caramilk chocolate bar. 🍫
Reina's dedication and love for animals make her an invaluable part of our team! We've loved watching her grow over the 6+ years she's been working at Dog Jogs and love hearing how she's helped you and your pets out.

Why you should find a pet care provider before you need one?!
We've visited Maddy, Neikka, and Bella before when their parents go on vacation, but their mom recently had surgery that ended up being more extensive than they thought going in.
Although she is home with the pups while she recovers, she isn't able to let them out for their normal daily mid-day break. Dad called us while Mom was still in the hospital to see if our team could help out M-F during our lunchtime block for the next 3-4 weeks and you know what, we absolutely could!
They already had their account with us set up so it was easy peasy to get the girls into the schedule!
Whether you need dog walks, cat sitting, dog boarding or any type of pet care- don't wait to find help!
Happy Doggos on their walks, jogs and pawty breaks!
We are accepting new clients! Are you a current client? refer a friend and get a free service!
Rain or shine, Dog Jogs is here to keep your furry friends active and happy! ☔🐕
We know some pups love a rainy adventure while others prefer staying dry, so we always pay close attention to their enjoyment.
Rest assured, we'll towel them off after rainy walks to keep them cozy for the rest of the day.

Dog Jogs most popular service?
This past year, it would have to be our Dog Walks!
Why? Well, because everyone loves the outcome. Like, really loves it.
Imagine working from home and not having to worry about your dog disturbing you during your workday or having your lunch hour to get your own workout in!
We love providing this service, (plus we offer 30 and 60 min dog walks so you've got options!) and we love that our clients (human and furry) get so much out of it.
Think you’d like to give it a go? Contact us today! We'd love to answer any questions you may have.
Not being biased but we think Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid is the best class ever!!
(Okay, maybe being a little bit biased but how can we not when we love teaching it *so* much).
Feedback from some of our past courses🥰
"I feel more confident if something were to go wrong with my dog"
"The class was more fun than I had anticipated!"
"Excellent course for pet care providers and pet owners"
"The course and instructors are amazing!" (Ok 😊 just blushing over her, but a huge THANK YOU!!"
Our next 2 courses aren't until this fall, in Sept and Nov but they're already starting to fill up! Don't wait to sign up!
Interested in coming? Send us a DM, we'll send you the link to sign up!
Don't forget to bring a friend and you'll both save $10!
What's one of the most common injuries dogs experience in springtime?!
Ligament injuries, sprains, and strains!
If a dog has been sedentary all winter, their muscles will be considerably weaker, and that means there is a much higher risk they will tear something when they start running around the park for the first time in a while.
If you're just getting back into a regular walking routine, remember to start slow and be consistent!
We wouldn't just head out the door to run 10k without training, nor should your dog! Need a hand easing your dog back into their walking or jogging routine?
Dog Jogs is accepting new clients!
📸- Jackson out on a Dog Jog!
Hey, did you know that cats are secretly big softies? Despite their "too cool for school" facade, they actually crave attention and can get pretty lonely when left alone for too long. Picture this: your cat, binge-watching sad movies and eating ice cream straight from the tub because they miss you! 😿
But fear not! There's a super easy solution: hiring a pet sitter. Seriously, it's a game-changer. When you're off on your weekend adventures or soaking up the sun on a beach somewhere.
Now, here's the best part: We Dog Jogs offer cat sitting services too! They're not just for the pups; we've got your feline friend covered too. So, next time you're planning a trip or just need someone reliable to give your kitty some TLC, give us a call!

We love a good transformation story so today, we're sharing 3 "before and after" stories of some of our amazing clients!
Meet Allie & Olive!
We started out helping their parents with 3 of their elderly sisters who have since passed on (we miss you golden girls) We have been lucky to continue to help as their family grew again, first with Allie, and then again with Olive. We started both gals out with p*e breaks when they first came home, and as they have grown, they've transitioned to walks!
Next, meet Jagger who loves to get out and move! Her mom had a dog walker for Jag, but she sadly didn't know if the walker was even showing up to take Jag out! Mom has been loving receiving our updates after every visit that include a written update of what went on, pictures and seeing how far Jag went on her jog!
Lastly, there's Leon! We get to see this cute 5 days a week for Paw-ty breaks, it is tough having puppy who needs to get out for more potty breaks and needs lunch when both your parents work. He is so happy to meet every Jogger who shows up to play with him, plus less messes in the house since he gets out mid-day!
Inspiring, right!?
Whether you need sporadic or regular walks our team is ready to help! book a consult today to have any questions you have answered!
We've welcomed some more cuties to our DJ fam!
Rex is just a whittle big puppy! He's getting a mid day break plus lunch and some playtime on his paw-ty breaks
Sydney is an adorable rescue pup who's a bit strong for her mom and shhh, don't tell her but, a little overweight. She's doing some training with In-sync dog training but they recommend she get some more exercise in so she's signed up for an hour walk each week with us.
Gigi is deaf, and has cataracts so she's experiencing some loss of vision. Her family is on vacation and has someone caring for her but we're helping with her walks. We take our time to make sure she knows we're there and when out on walks since she has a hard time seeing.
Rocket who can be a little fearful especially when being touched near his neck did SOOO well on his first visit! We started with a walk but he's going to try our our jogs next!
Can't wait to see these adorable furry faces more- welcome to the fam!
We love ALL dogs, cats, and animals (and of course rescued animals) but today, we celebrate National Purebred Dog Day!!

🛑Hooooooold on a second. Have you ever thought... "I can't hire Dog Jogs because my dog is reactive" this doesn’t have to be true. Joggers ensure to be aware of their surroundings with your pet and ensure there's enough distance between a 'trigger' to prevent a reaction. Giving enough space between what's making your pet uncomfortable, gives Joggers the opportunity to treat/positively associate 'triggers'. Practice makes perfect! More opportunity to show your pup that not all 'scary things' are scary, the better! That’s why we are so passionate about helping pets that are reactive. We love watching them grow! We now also offer maintenance walks
Here it is, we’re telling you exactly what you need to get your dog or cat set up for services! Their up-to-date vaccinations (or titre test)- because we are an insured business we require proof of vaccinations for pets who will leave their property. Pull out your records and upload them to your account or email your vet and have them email them to us! Might sound weird but a video of unlocking your door REALLY helps us! Some doors need to be pulled on and lifted to get it to open, not all keyless entry work the same (do you press the lock or unlock- it’s never the same!) We upload this video to your file so our team can watch it and not contact you about gaining access to your home and pet! Video or even a picture of where you keep your pet’s things (cleaning supplies come in handy too) Our staff don’t like feeling like they are invading your space to look for things so having a picture/video also our team! Remember, even if it seems like this is a lot of work, you CAN do this! Promise it only takes a few minutes and helps us take care of your furbaby and your home! If you need us, you know where to find us – just tap the link in our bio to get started. ❤️
I think we're in your feed because you have a pet! You've probably come home to a sick pet, a pet who ripped up the garbage, or destroyed the baseboards… Am I right?! Dog Jogs helps pet parents not stress about their pets by providing them with the exercise and attention they crave. We also clean up messes we find! Our dedicated joggers ensure your furry family members are well-cared for, so you can focus on your day worry-free. Come rain or shine, we're here to give your pets the happiest of strides and you, the peace of mind that every pet parent deserves.
▶️If booking a dog walk for your dog allows you the time to take care of yourself◀️ Why not do it? Let us care for your pup, while you take care of you!
FAQ Time! 👉👉👉 Will our services work for someone who has a reactive dog? If you’ve ever wondered this, you’re not alone. This question lands in our inbox at least a few times a week. So let’s clear everything up: We only offer private walks which are perfect for dogs who are reactive and need space from other dogs (or other triggers) if you see is walking multiple dogs it’s because they’re from the same house hold. We also offer training services with Reina! Reina will develop a training plan to help reduce and work with your dogs reactivity. Plus we also offer Maintenance walks where our team follows the training plan that was created for your dog. Want to learn more? Check out the link in our bio or shoot us a dm to ask any questions.
😩 Tired of leash pulling during walks? Check out my list of must-dos for training a ready position to help teach your dog where you want them to be on walks 👇👇 Start with a 1.8 meter leash and a treat pouch Then leash up and begin by walking around the house for the least amount of distractions possible Attach a cue to this ready to walk position (example "lets go"). This can be done by saying their cue word then when they go to you side mark it eith either "yes" or your clicker and then give them a treat. Keep walking then add direction changes. It can be mid stroll or when they reach the end of the leash. Say their ready position cue then with a treat lure them to follow you. Utilize wide angles if they tend to walk at the end of the leash. Remeber whenever they go beside you mark it with then treat. Once walking around, the house is going well, then take it up a level by going outside, but try going somewhere with limited distractions. Once that goes well, then train by going on a regular walk. Initially, make sure the walks are during low traffic times so as not to add too many distractions. Then, when that goes well, slowly progress to normal walk times. **Tip** The aim is to condition gentle pressure to evoke directional changes, so avoid jerking the leash. If your dog is super distracted, it may be too distracting of an environment, so train with lower distractions like the house or yard *** Get started today with these tips and tricks or leave the word help! in comments for one of our trainers to reach out with more info! #YegDogJogs #YegDogTraining #YegDogTrainer #YegDogs

Pet parents, have you tried teaching your dogs not to pull on a walk but haven't been successful? 🤔 If you want a dog that doesn't pull you on your walk, then you need our training services! We can train you to train your dog, or we can train your dog with our training walks. Why your dog should have loose leash manners? Safety:walking calmly on loose leash reduces the risk of accidents and injuries, promoting a safer and more controlled walking experience for both the dog and the owner. Positive social interactions: dogs that walk politely on a loose leash are more relaxed and less reactive., leading to more positive social interactions and experiences during walks, as well as improved opportunities for socialization in various environments. Improved communication and bonding: learning to walk on a loose leash strengthens the communication and bond between dog and owner, enhancing trust and cooperation. Let me know in the comments if you're ready to take action today!✨ #yegdogjogs #yegdogtraining #yegdogs
That’s what we are here for Merlin, that’s what we are here for…. 😂 We frequently get asked if we walk reactive dogs, and to that we say we run with them too! Whether your pup is reactive to other dogs, people, bikes, cows, geese, or all of the above, they have a spot in the Dog Jogs family. And if you don’t know where to start with your dog’s reactivity, our certified trainer Reina can help create a program which will be implemented by our Dog Joggers. Pretty cool right? DM us for more info!
Sidewalks, school fields, and other public places are great ON-LEASH adventure locations! These spaces are also shared with pups (and people) who may be sensitive to other dogs or just want some extra space while they enjoy the outdoors! If you and your pup want to go for off leash adventures: 1️⃣ Practice recall on leash first 2️⃣ Go to a POSTED off leash area 3️⃣ Keep high value treats and/or toys on you And remember, off leash adventures - or interactions with other dogs - isn't for every pup! Even if your pup loves them , following these simple steps allows those who don't the ability to enjoy the outdoors peacefully! Am I right or am I right? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

⚠️ A word of caution, dear follower… Don’t Trust everyone who claims to be a Dog Trainer! The animal training world is an unregulated industry, so there are no set qualifications that one needs to be considered a Dog Trainer! That is why it is so important to do your research and looking at the education, experience, certifications and methodology of the trainers in your area to find the right trainer for you and your fur-baby! Comment Trainer and I’ll get you all the info you need.
We wish this was the kind of traffic making us run behind 😂 For a number of reasons we don’t guarantee exact times! (Weather, construction, emergencies…) We operate in time blocks so we’ll always start your service during the time block you select! Need a hand with your pet? Send us a message, we’d love to get “stuck in traffic” with them.

As Albertans, you know that weather can be a mixed bag on any given day. Have you ever wondered how joggers stay prepared in the field? It’s just what we do! If you’ve ever opened a Dog Jogs service report and wondered how we get such amazing pet pics…. here it is! Do you do silly things to get pictures of your pup too? Let us know down below, we are always looking for new strategies!
When it comes to understanding your furry friend, Dog Jog's well-trained team speaks fluent ‘canine’! 🦮🎓 We're experts at deciphering doggie dialects and body language, effortlessly adapting to their comfort zones. Stressed situations? We approach with gentleness and understanding, ensuring your pup feels secure every step of the way. Your dog's safety and comfort is our priority!
I love this question because it helps us adjust our frame of mind from a very frustrated and desperate place to a positive and goal oriented frame of mind. Having a positive goal for change being framed as what we want for our pup helps set us as owners and trainers up for success! It helps us find an efficient path to teach our pup, and it helps us stay in a positive mindset focused on celebrating the wins along the way! Most importantly, if we are set up for success, we can set up our pup for success! Switching our mindset from what we don't want to happen to focusing on what we do want can be incredibly difficult, let alone starting your training journey from there! Our team at Dog Jogs is here to help you and your pup. Just leave us a comment below!

Want your business to be the top-listed Pet Store/pet Service?
Our Mission Statement at Dog Jogs is simple:
There are no shortcuts when it comes to quality service; the only way to accomplish our goal is with a real commitment from every member of the Dog Jogs team. The English poet John Donne wrote, “No man is an island.” We believe each employee contributes to the success and growth of the company, and our values and beliefs require that, individually and collectively, we:
