Unleashed Crew Update
Some of you may have seen him on Candices stories, or you may have seen a flash of him yesterday in our stories.
This is Arctos.
He's come to stay with the Shutes to learn a little more about life, gain some skills, hopefully some confidence and maybe some sporty skills if hes ready.
He's a 8mo old Pyr Shep (same as Eevee, I know crazy right?) He's a rough face, Eevee is a smooth face. He looks much larger and though he is larger because Eevee sits on the petite side hes still mostly fur and legs. About 20ish lbs.
He has spent most of his life at home, naked. Meaning he's not worn a collar, leash, harness etc.
Hes not been exposed to most breeds so hes doing pretty good with Eevee but Sail is a little a creature from another planet 😆. The softer face dogs he can handle fairly well.
Fearful of cars
Anyhow hes here for a few months to learn, you may see him in classes or observing classes from a distance to gain as much exposure as he can.
Hes a bright little guy under there, loves humans the most, once we get through the stress of his life change I think new skills will be easy, but there's no point in pushing "obedience" when that truly doesn't matter to him. Filling his cup however we can should always be the goal with nervous dogs just trying to cope.
Please give him some time to adapt, if you see something that might look untrained, its because it is. He's really a baby puppy in a 8 mo old body.
Do you have a nervous dog? It's sometimes a bit hard but we get it. Our courses very much take into consideration these dogs, because both ends of the leash feeling safe, happy and confident are the real life skills everyone wants.
If anyone has a very friendly softer play style medium to small size dog that would like to help him learn to play reach out! Would love to meet up and give him some opportunities where possible :)
Welcome Artcos!
Astros
Arctos" (ἄρκτος) is an ancient Greek word meaning "bear". It's the basis for words like "arctic," referring to the northern lands by the bear constellation (Ursa Major), and appears in the scientific name of the brown bear, Ursus arctos, making it a "bear-bear".
