SitNStay works closely with Citadel Canine Society, we are saddened to hear about Brian Archers passing and send warm wishes to his family and friends
————————————————
In Honour of Brian Archer
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our President, Executive Director, and Founder, Brian Archer.
Brian was the heart, vision, and driving force behind Citadel Canine Society. What began as his bold idea to change lives through service dogs became a national mission that has helped so many veterans, first responders, and families. His ambition, determination, and tireless commitment are the reason Citadel exists today — and why it continues to thrive.
Brian touched countless lives with his compassion, his belief in people, and his unwavering dedication to service of others. For everyone who knew him, worked with him, or benefitted from his work, this loss is deeply felt. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, all the veterans and first responders he supported, and the entire Citadel community.
In honour of Brian’s legacy, and to ensure stability for our clients, trainers, and supporters, Chipman Kean will step in as Interim President as we move forward. Citadel’s programs will continue, our dogs will keep training, and our mission remains as strong as ever — exactly as Brian would have wanted.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out or been touched by Brian’s life and work. His impact will continue through every service dog placed, every life changed, and every person who carries our mission forward.
Woof 🐾 — your legacy will be remembered, Brian.
Rest in peace, dear friend
For those who have asked how they can honour Brian’s legacy, a donation in his name to continue the work he built would be deeply appreciated.
