It feels like a sign of love when your dog licks your face, but there’s more to this behavior than meets the eye! Did you know a dog’s saliva contains bacteria that can cause infections? Dogs often lick their OWN wounds to help them heal, but transferring those germs to humans poses different risks. Find out what our vets at Haney Animal Hospital say about the potential risks and what you might not know about those doggy kisses. 🤫

🐰 Did you know rabbits need yearly wellness exams too?

Rabbits may look perfectly healthy, but they often hide signs of illness until it’s advanced. Regular vet visits help detect dental issues, digestive problems, parasites, and early signs of infection long before they become serious.

At Haney Animal Hospital, we perform gentle, thorough health checks designed specifically for rabbits from teeth and nails to diet, digestion, and overall wellness.

✅ Prevent disease
✅ Detect problems early
✅ Keep your rabbit happy, active, and healthy year-round

Because prevention is always better than panic. 💙

🐾 Yes, cats get ultrasounds too!

Just like humans, expecting cats benefit from ultrasound scans during pregnancy, it’s a safe, non-invasive way to monitor their babies’ health and development. 💓

At Maple Ridge Veterinary Hospital, our ultrasound imaging helps us:
✅ Confirm pregnancy early
✅ Monitor fetal heartbeats and movements
✅ Check the number of kittens
✅ Detect any complications before they become serious

No pain. No stress. Just gentle hands, calm hearts, and advanced care so every mother cat gets the comfort she deserves and every tiny heartbeat is monitored with love.

Because motherhood, no matter the species, deserves expert care and tenderness. 💙

😺 Did you know your cat’s tongue is a built-in grooming tool?
Those tiny, hook-like structures called papillae act like a natural brush helping cats clean loose fur, remove dirt, and even stay cool through grooming. Nature’s design at its finest!

But remember while cats are great at self-cleaning, they still need regular health check-ups to ensure their skin, fur, and mouth stay healthy. 🩺✨
