FURSDAY! A week in review.
Summer fun and proper social exposure for this good looking group.
Communication drills, and desensitization tactics to new environments really help dogs adapt to their handlers lifestyle outside of the home and yard.

FURSDAY!
My apologies on the delays for posting my adorable clients, but we took a little holiday, and then coming back from a holiday I think we all know that work can be pretty crazy the week we come back. However, here's a bunch of delightful little goobers who are trying to be the best dog they can be.

A few of them will tell you that confidence is sexy. ๐๐

FURSDAY! A week in review.
So we definitely had some confidence building this week, and of course some puppy development education.
And the most important reminder for most of my clients is to "start leading and stop pleading!"

FURSDAY! A week in review.
Bunch of eager dogs learning some great training tactics with their handlers, and lots of walk etiquette tactics as the weather has been pretty mild this winter and spring is just around the corner, so the pups will be out for a lot more walks.
Proper dog greetings and socialization, as opposed to impulsive and intrusive behaviors usually adapted around uncontrolled environments like dog parks.
Teaching a dog how to properly greet and feel confident and trustworthy with other pack members, needs to be guided by the handler towards new dogs and new environments. ๐๐
FURSDAY! A week in review.
New adoptions, rescue foster guidance on domestication for their new foster pup, and proper walk etiquette with the same tactics I use to train service dogs to be calm and focused.
๐๐
Well it's almost the weekend so I guess we can't call it "Fursday", so we're going to call this post "Weekend Woofers!"
As per usual, great group of dogs just wanting to make a connection through loyalty with their handlers. Communication drills to help achieve that is what I always express with my training tactics to my clients.

Congratulations are in order for therapy dog "Violet "!
The staff at EH Price Industries and Therapy Canine "Violet", had their final testing for full registration and certification by Paw & Order standards in this December.
The testing is to make sure that violet is an ambassador to the company for guests, but at the same time helping staff members have a bit more upbeat mindset throughout the day when she visits them.
Testing is similar to that for public Access when it comes to service dogs, but with therapy dogs, these dogs need to be interact and be handled by several different people usually in one day. Teaching Violet to be non-intrusive, not over excited, and desensitized to all the stimuli in different areas of the companies office areas and plant production, is the main part of the test to make sure that people feel comfortable around Violet, and that she is well mannered and kept safe around all the activities that can happen in a large company.
Bringing a little bit of stress release, happiness, and let's face it, just being able to give a well mannered dog a little bit of cuddles can sure make your day a lot better.
I'd also like to thank the staff of the therapy dog program for being extremely professional with me, taking my advice and training tactics and implementing them towards Violet to make her the best therapy dog she can be.
I'm extremely proud of the whole team and of course that silly golden goober, Miss Violet.
Great job! ๐๐

Reposted as the video was cut short. Dog drive! "Negative frustration behavior" as opposed to "separation anxiety".
He's absolutely amazing. So attentive, calming done nicely, and is only 6 months old!! Off leash perimeter presence training at Lowe's. So proud of this little guy. Way to go Grizz! ๐๐
Doggy spotlight! Meet Daisy! Well I'll be honest, but I've rarely seen as many handlers as dedicated as Krista is to helping Daisy overcome certain behaviors and fears. We're not quite sure of Daisy's history, but it seems like she's been through a lot. Daisy was rescued by Krista from the local animal services. Defensive aggression, and a high prey drive tells me she probably didn't have very positive interactions with other dogs. Not sure if abuse was also part of the equation, but she does have some scars across the top of her nose that don't resemble animal attacks. However, working with Krista and Daisy over the past year and a bit, myself and Krista have seen great strides with Daisy warming up to other dogs and being extremely manner-able around strangers. This was not the case when I first met Daisy, but Krista does relentless dedication with our training techniques to helping Daisy become the dog that Krista knows she can become. We have done several pack walks with some of my dogs and she has been extremely manner-able and welcoming as of late. I think she might even have a bit of a crush on my big guy "Chops", as she acts a little bit more goofy and shows playful stances around him. Daisy has been one of my dedicated projects as we spent a lot of time working with her the last year. I've learned so much from Daisy, and with Krista using some of the techniques I've given her, Krista's become the perfect puppy parent through trial and error. Great job thus far, and I look forward to our continued work to make Daisy feel confident and trusting in the canine community. She's a pretty intimidating looking dog, but she has a big heart and sweet demeanor. ๐๐
Karma update! So since Karma's arrival, we've done about 5 pack walks. Three with Tux, 1 with both Tux & Chevy and one with just Chevy. Reaction was at a minimum when she saw Tux, as she has walked with him once before at a previous Foster. It was more of an excitement reaction as opposed to aggression. The meeting with Chevy was reactive, with body language showing mild aggression. Redirecting and praising calm behavior, then took about about a minute for Karma to settle in. As she settled in, Karma was able to walk with the pack with no focus on the other dogs, and turned her focus towards the environment. Exactly what I was looking for! She has a lot of potential but just needs some structure. Secondly she has settled in very nicely at her Fosters house. She gets along great with the cat and gets very excited when the Foster and her two sons come home. The video represents her calming demeanor after a few quick Corrections and direction.
