"Update, we have identified the the black lab and have learned the owner has euthanized this dog. We have not made a positive identification of the German Shepherd dog. If anyone has information that would assist in this please contact us!"

The Township of Nairn and Hyman has declared an open-air fire ban effective immediately.

An update will be provided when the ban is lifted.

Update: the dog has been rescued by one of our officers who was able to capture it in our live dog trap. He is heading back to the shelter, thank you to everyone who helped! He will be at the shelter for the redemption period. If he is yours or you have any information on who may own him please call the shelter at 1-800-836-6661.

Original Post: Rainbow District Animal Services is aware of this dog. The dog is located in Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Territory near Lively, Greater Sudbury ON. but from the circumstances we believe it has been abandoned and could be from anywhere. We have been out to meet him and will be deploying additional resources today to try to rescue him. This boy is extremely wary of people, please do not approach or feed this guy. It is important that he be hungry. If anyone owns or knows who owns the animal they can call 1-800-836-6661.

On Mar 14/24, received a traffic complaint of a vehicle driving on hauling a trailer with items flying out of the trailer. Police located the vehicle and the driver was charged accordingly ^jg

The are approx 9 ish weeks old.

The Town of Espanola Council has appointed Joseph Burke as the Chief Administrative Officer - Clerk for Corporation of the Town of Espanola.

Following the recent resignation of CAO-Treasurer Allan Hewitt, Council reorganized administrative leadership responsibilities including the appointment of Burke and the recruitment of a Treasurer.

Mr. Burke will begin his new role on February 5th, 2024.
