DESPERATELY in need of foster families for Mexican dogs!!

Oasis Animal Rescue and Education Center is proud to work with Huellitas de Acero A.C. Puerto Escondido shelter in Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
Living conditions at Huellitas Shelter sadly, are not ideal for the 130+ dogs forced to share a barren stretch of land that is flooded in the rainy season, beset by stifling heat and humidity at the height of summer and a breeding ground for dog fights amongst its many canine inhabitants. Some dogs are attacked, beat up & choose to isolate themselves because they are scared. Compassionate volunteers and staff are diligent in the care of these dogs but totally overwhelmed by the amount of work and effort required.

Oasis has committed to accepting three dogs monthly from Huellitas. We need your help, however, for without dedicated foster families this will be impossible.
The dogs that will be sent from Mexico are well vetted & socialized, sterilized, vaccinated & healthy! They are ready for their new loving families.
Will you “step up” and be an emergency foster for our November choices- Lola, Mermelada or Daisy? Are you the family that will rescue one of these beautiful dogs and help us bring them to Canada?

If you’d like to be considered as a foster please email: [email protected]

URGENT!! Please share!!

Tycko is absolutely desperate!! This senior boy is effectively homeless and desperately needs a foster family to “step up” until he can find a forever home. Will you be the one to help Tycko?!?!

Tycko is in his “golden years” and would be ideally suited to a quiet, laid back household in which he can relax and enjoy the fruits of reaching 16 years of age. Neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and declawed ( x 2 ), Tycko is in good health, calm, gentle and affectionate. Tycko has lived peacefully with other pets in the past but we suspect the undivided attention of a senior citizen or retired couple would be his best match.

UPDATE:
Hector has found a wonderful “foster to adopt” family in Manitoulin Island on Lake Huron. The couple have a home on the water and two other dogs with whom Hector can play.

Hector presently resides at a “high kill shelter” in Quebec. We need a foster family to “step up” and help us bring him to Ontario before euthanasia becomes his fate. Could this be you?

Hector is an intelligent, “eager to please“ Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Five years of age, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations, this even tempered, playful, affectionate boy is overweight and requires a foster mom/foster dad who will adjust his food portions appropriately and provide him with regular exercise. Hector is totally at ease with all adults, children over 6 years of age, cats and other dogs. He loves to cuddle, to be petted and simply to spend time with the humans around him. This breed is known to be completely family oriented and we truly believe there is a welcoming, forever home just waiting for Hector in his very near future.

UPDATE: Stacey has been saved from euthanasia thanks to our wonderful foster Paula all the way in Ottawa who is making a big drive to go get this girl. Thank you Paula & to everyone that shared & offered encouragement in our journey to save Stacey from euthanasia.
If interested in adopting this fabulous dog apply here: http://www.oasisanimalrescue.ca/application

UPDATE: WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF A FOSTER IN ORDER TO SAVE THIS GIRL!! We only have a few applicants & they are not ideal fits. PLEASE email [email protected] if you think you can help!!

EUTHANASIA DEADLINE this Wednesday!!
Stacy is presently in a “kill shelter” in Quebec with a deadline of Wednesday, October 16th. We intend to pull her IF we can find a suitable foster home to take her in. Can you help?

Stacy is a big girl with a big heart. This affectionate Boxer cross loves all of the humans in her world and will, no doubt, form a strong bond with the family who fosters/adopts her. Stacy is just 14 months of age, spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations. Curious, high energy and in need of regular exercise and ongoing socialization, Stacy gets along fabulously with other dogs but is prey driven so there should be no cats or “pocket pets” in her household. Cheerful and friendly with adults, Stacy is very afraid of children. Stacy was found as a stray so we have no past history but her overall demeanour leads us to believe that, with the right match, this intelligent, gentle girl will continue to be the well adjusted, happy puppy that is so evident to all around her.

URGENT!! Lucky needs a man in his life!! It is evident to all who meet this nine year old French Bulldog that he feels more comfortable and secure with men versus women and simply bubbles with excitement when in the presence of the male species.
Can you/a friend/acquaintance/family member “step up” and consider fostering/adopting this boy? His situation is urgent.

More about Lucky:

This 9 year old French Bulldog, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations, is gentle, playful and comical when in the presence of strangers and becomes closely bonded with the humans in his immediate household.
Lucky thoroughly enjoys playing fetch but would be best suited to an “adult male only” home. Intelligent, laid back and adaptable, this boy has a tendency to chase cats ( so no felines in the house) and would frankly prefer he be the only canine in his household.
Lucky is curious about his surroundings but has moderate energy so is happy to enjoy the back garden and explore walking routes close to home.

🐾🐾🐾This boy would be an ideal companion for a senior!! We have an adoption program specifically geared towards seniors adopting senior dogs.

If interested in fostering email:[email protected]

🐾 Will YOU be the lucky one that gets to be loved by Lucky?🥰

TIME SENSITIVE!! Betty is presently residing at a “kill shelter” in Quebec with a deadline of October 14th. Oasis Animal Rescue and Education Center is seeking to pull her but first needs a foster family to “step up”. Can you help?

Betty, although just shy of twelve months, is simply a big puppy in spite of her size. A Bernese Mountain Dog mix, spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Betty is a happy girl who loves attention, is very affectionate and has a moderate energy level. Known to be great company for any age, this breed is easy to train, good natured and truly envision themselves as “lap dogs” in their heart of hearts. Betty was found as a stray but it is evident from how sociable and relaxed she is with people that, at one time, she was very much a part of a family unit. We know she will be again in the near future.NOT tested with cats. Good with other dogs but has shown occasional resource guarding (not to be unexpected in a stressful shelter situation)

Potential fosters please email: [email protected]

Apply to adopt Betty here: http://www.oasisanimalrescue.ca/application

TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Lucky and Blue are in desperate trouble!! Rescued from an extremely abusive home their time is running out. Both dogs are SCHEDULED TO BE EUTHANIZED by the end of this week unless foster/forever homes can be found. Oasis Animal Rescue and Education Center is trying to save them from this fate🙏
Lucky and Blue, eighteen month old sibling Huskies, have been examined by the vet, dewormed and brought up-to-date on all vaccinations. They will need to be neutered. By basic nature Huskies are playful, even tempered and good with all family members. These boys, because of their past experiences, are shy and uncertain in the presence of strangers, but it is quite evident that they have the desire to interact & experience love💜🐾 Lucky and Blue deserve a chance to become the outgoing, full of energy, friendly canines that they have the potential to be.
Will you help to keep these boys with us? Can you or any of your friends, family or acquaintances make a difference for Lucky and Blue? They can be adopted together or separately.

UPDATE: Alice has been adopted by her fabulous foster family🙏🐾💜

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!! Alice, a dainty Chihuahua girl at just 4.2 kilos, is looking for a quiet, calm, stable, home to call her own.
We have decided, therefore, that it is in her best interest to be enrolled in our “foster to adopt” program. Alice was born on June 2nd 2021 so has just recently turned three years of age. Spayed and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Alice is very affectionate, loves to play and delights in being held in the arms of her human. Dogs, both big and small, are met with great excitement by Alice although children ( especially below 8 years of age) evoke fear in this little dog. Stuffed toys and bones of all shapes and sizes are great time consuming distractions and Alice can be endlessly entertained by the “comings & goings” of wildlife in the garden. All in all Alice is a sweetie and we are determined to find her a forever family who will open their hearts and their home unconditionally to this tiny Chihuahua.
